We already know Jennifer Lawrence can do no wrong. At 24, she already has an Oscar, stars in two blockbuster series (The Hunger Games and X-Men), and now she even has a song on the radio.
Now she can official add “Top Grossing Actor of the Year” to the mix. Forbes added up global box office numbers from various stars’ movies in 2014, and J. Law lands on top. Between Mockingjay and X-Men: Days of Future Past, Jen’s movies grossed $1.4 billion at the box office worldwide this year…and Mockingjay is still in theaters, so that number will continue to grow. Damn, girl!
Next on the list is Chris Pratt, whose movies grossing Guardians of the Galaxy and The Lego Movie raked in $1.2 billlion. Scarlett Johansson with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Lucy, and Under the Skin follows him with $1.18 billion.
I should be insanely jealous of Jennifer Lawrence, but for some reason the only thing I’m mad about is that we’re not best friends who sit home and watch crappy 90’s movies together. This is probably a safe bet, but I’d say J. Law isn’t going anywhere soon and 2015 will be another huge year. We already know the final part of The Hunger Games series will be out as well as another partnership with director David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook & American Hustle), Joy.
