WATCH: Ronda Rousey's Brutal Knockout From Holly Holm

Ronda Rousey, 28, has gotten a lot of (well-deserved) attention lately for being one of the greatest UFC fighters–ever. But, last night, Rousey lost a much-anticipated fight against Holly Holm, 34, which caused one of the biggest upsets in UFC history.
Up until last night, Rousey was undefeated (12-0). Unfortunately, she no longer holds that title.
While Rousey was able to hold her own during the first round, the second round is where it all started to fall apart for her. The blow that ultimately knocked Rousey to the ground– and caused every and anyone watching to gasp in horror– was a head kick.

Check out the knockout video below:

While you would think kicking someone in the head and sending them crashing to the ground (and bleeding) would be enough, Holm didn’t stop there. She continued to hit Rousey until she was physically forced off her from a ref.

Holly, surely just as shocked as everyone else at how the fight turned out, couldn’t hold her excited and began jumping up and down, happy to hold the title of Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

Later, Holm told Fox Sports, “I have to say that everything that we worked on presented itself in the fight. Every kind of grab that she tried to get and clinch on the cage. I have not spent this much time in the gym before any fight in my life.”
Rousey was transported to the hospital shortly after the fight. Though it was mostly for precautionary purposes (she was after all, knocked out from a kick to her HEAD), she also had to have her lip sewn together, since the knockout left it split open.
