In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past year or so, Gigi Hadid is perhaps the most sought-after model in the world. The daughter of real-estate developer Mohamed Hadid and former model Yolanda Foster first made a splash by appearing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, on which her mom and step-dad music producer David Foster appeared, but she is way above reality TV nowadays. Her gorgeous face and killer body make her a regular on the runway and in fashion campaigns, but how much has her modeling career affected her bank account?
Gigi Hadid’s Net Worth as of 2017: $5 million
While Gigi’s family doesn’t really need an additional income (her father made his fortune developing Ritz Carlton hotels and other high-end real estate), the model might soon be a huge contributor as her career is only going up from here.
We break down how Gigi Hadid made her millions below.
2011 – 2013
Although Gigi started modeling at only two years old when she was discovered by Paul Marciano of Guess, her career really started taking off when she signed with IMG Models in 2011. Working with Marciano, she was named the face of a Guess campaign in 2012, the first of three campaigns with Guess she did as an adult.
Also in 2011, Gigi made her debut as an actress in the short film Virgin Eyes.
In February 2014, Hadid made her New York Fashion Week debut walking for Desigual.
Hadid has graced magazine covers including Schön!, Vogue (in multiple counties), Teen Vogue, Elle Canada, and Harper’s Bazaar Malaysia. Hadid also shot editorials for VMAN, Elle, Grazia, Cleo, Vogue, Sports Illustrated, and Paper magazine. She was on the cover of Galore magazine and Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book in 2014. Hadid’s sister Bella is also a model, and the two sisters have been working together on some modeling appearances.
Hadid played Australian singer Cody Simpson’s love interest in the video for his song “Surfboard” which was released on April 14, 2014. She played the love interest of singer Miguel in the music video for “Simplethings,” released May 29, 2014. On July 15, 2014, she starred alongside actor and model Patrick Schwarzenegger in fashion designer Tom Ford’s Eyewear autumn/winter campaign. She co-hosted the Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media Awards that was held in New York City on September 5, 2014.
In January 2015, Gigi was named a brand ambassador for makeup brand Maybelline.
By May 2015, Hadid had walked for designers including Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Michael Kors, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Max Mara.
It was revealed in July 2015 that the 20-year-old model put her Soho apartment on the market for $2.45 million after a stalker made multiple attempts to get into Gigi’s home, once successfully. He was arrested, but it understandably gave the young model a fright.
Hadid starred in Calvin Harris’ music video “How Deep Is Your Love,” which was released in August.
In December 2015, she made her first appearance in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Her mom said this was the third time Gigi auditioned.
Also in December, it was reported that Gigi makes between $125,000 and $300,000 for every sponsored social media post. She’s among the highest three paid models for their social media endorsements along with buddy Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevigne.
In 2015, it was estimated that Gigi raked in about $2.5 million.
Gigi starred in rumored boyfriend Zayn Malik‘s steamy music video for “Pillowtalk” in January 2016.
The model also took to the runway at Paris Fashion Week for Chanel.
Gigi was also on hand at the Zoolander 2 premiere, because where else would the world’s top model be?
As if confirming she was dating Zayn Malik wasn’t enough, in recent news Gigi was revealed showing off a beautiful ring on her left ring finger during Paris Fashion Week. There hasn’t been any statement from the two about marriage, but considering how open she is about wearing a ring on that finger, we can guess that things are looking up for Gigi and Zayn.
