Kendall Jenner has finally given us some insight regarding her decision to take a hiatus from Instagram. On The Ellen DeGeneres Show earlier today, the 21-year-old model said she needed a detox. She was tired of spending so much time on the app, explaining that it was the first thing she would check in the morning and the last before bed.

E! News quoted Jenner saying that she needed to “cut the cord” between herself and her fans.“I felt a little too dependent on it, so I kinda wanted to take a minute. It’s a detox.” She went on to say that the few days she’s been without Instagram have been refreshing. She even took another leap, and deleted Twitter from her phone.

Jenner disabled her account earlier this week, shocking fans and followers–for a while in 2015, she had the reigning most liked photo. Prior to deactivating her Instagram account, she had disabled the comments section on her posts so she wouldn’t have to deal with rude remarks. The model received a lot of backlash after a ballerina photoshoot she did for Vogue Spain.

Jenner has also been open about her anxiety and panic attacks, and explored meditation with her older sister Kim Kardashian, who also suffers from anxiety, on a recent episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Jenner revealed she suffers from sleep paralysis because her anxiety is so extreme.

It seems like she’s taking a much-needed break from social media, following other media-overwhelmed celebs like Selena Gomez and Chrissy Teigen. Don’t worry, though. Kendall said she’ll be back eventually.
