This Mom Thanked Her Ex-Husband’s New Girlfriend In Heartfelt Note

Audrey Nicole Thank You Note

Divorce is hard, especially when children are involved. But for mother and divorcee Audrey Nicole, things can be smooth sailing after separating from your husband, even when he starts dating someone else.

Nicole recently posted a photo of her daughter, Riley Grace, hanging out with her ex’s new girlfriend on the Love What Matters Facebook page. Unlike the stereotypical divorcee, Nicole is grateful that her daughter has another person to help take care of her and says their relationship is completely drama-free.

“This is my daughters fathers girlfriend,” she starts out in the below post. “The sweetest thing ever! I’m super thankful for her because when she visits her dad she feeds her, takes care of her, buys her gifts, and basically takes care of her like her own.”

She continued, “Why do all these moms act so spiteful and jealous towards the other women? NOONE said it was easy trying to be a mother to a kid you didn’t have. So when there is someone trying, don’t push them away! Because they DON’T need the drama they WILL leave and then you’re stuck with someone who is the evil step mom. Yes they exist! I see them everywhere! A kid can have two moms because in my eyes the more people that love her I’m happy! I would never make her feel like an outsider; I’m extremely thankful for this girl. ❤️❤️❤️ Ladies, grow up and focus on being a good mom. Love more hate less!”

The post has since gone viral with its very positive message, with over 76,000 reactions and 9,000 shares. Commenters have also shared their own stories about divorce and step-parents.

“My mom took my stepmom out to lunch when she and my dad were getting serious. They really hit it off and became friends. I even went on vacation with my mom, dad, and stepmom. When my dad and stepmom got divorced, she and my mom stayed friends. It really did make life easier for us kids,” one commenter wrote.

This is what we call a “bonus mom” in our family. We love my daughter’s step mom. She is no longer married to my daughter’s father and is more involved than he is. He’s MIA. And my husband is my girl’s bonus dad! We make it work! 😁,” another added.

Gotta love love, ya’ll.
