Justin Bieber is one celebrity among several who is known for his erratic behavior towards fans alike. He’s walked out on concerts, refused to take photos with fans and even once showed up so hungover, he had to lip-synch an entire concert. Bieber continues to demonstrate his strange behavior at a London show of his Purpose World Tour. This time, he tells his fans how he really feels about Instagram.
During the concert, the 22-year-old star teased his audience by asking, “Who thinks I should get my Instagram back?” But after the crowd cheers and screams approval, Bieber does a complete 180.
“I don’t wanna get my Instagram back,” he tells them. “Instagram is for the devil… I think Hell is Instagram. I’m like, 90 percent sure. We get sent to Hell, we get like, locked in the Instagram server. I’m stuck in the DMs, I’m tryna, like, find my way out.” The audience clearly doesn’t know what to make of this – you can hear both cheers and boos in the video below.
Back in August, Bieber left Instagram after people continued to post criticism over photos of his now ex-GF, Sofia Richie. He threatened his followers that if they didn’t stop being mean, he’d make his Insta private. A feud with another ex, Selena Gomez, shortly followed, and Bieber chose to leave the social media site altogether. He briefly reactivated it, but then was gone the moment fans started to leave comments again.
It’s starting to seem that Bieber is starting to be more sensitive to criticism, despite the fact that he’s been a pop star for years and is constantly in the spotlight. But the pseudo-Kanye West, existentialist commentary on Instagram? Pretty sure selfies aren’t as sinful as you make them out to be.
You do you, Biebz. Though we’ll always secretly hope you return to Instagram.
