Virginia Tech’s Heidi Hoback Says Her Mom Is Her Inspiration, And I’m Not Crying You’re Crying

Heidi Hoback

If there’s one thing I can count on in this life, it’s that my mom will always answer my call. It could be 4 am, and that woman – who notoriously hates early mornings – would do absolutely anything to make sure I was okay. So when Miss COED 2017 semifinalist, Heidi Hoback talked me about her awesome mom, I was about to break down in tears. Like, why can’t moms live forever? Serious question.

The Wildlife Conservation student at Virginia Tech also told me her dream Spring Break spot (Bali – solid choice), and of course it was inspired by her mom. BRB crying!

If you could travel anywhere in the world for Spring Break, where would you go?

If I could go anywhere in the world for Spring Break it would probably be to Bali, Indonesia. Not only does it have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, but my mom has always wanted to go there because of the healing/holistic practices in Indonesia.

Who do you look up to the most and why?

I most look up to my mom in life. She is a true inspiration to me. Having battled and won breast cancer twice, raised two children, been a total trophy wife, given me a colorful upbringing, and taught me all of life’s lessons. I can only hope to be half the woman she is one day.
