Who Has The Honor Of Hosting This Year’s Oscars?

The Oscars are probably the most important and exciting awards show of every year. Watched across the nation, the red carpet features actors and actresses dressed in the most high-end fashion clothing and viewers are eager to see the final results for each category.

Every show comes with a host but not just anyone can host the Oscars. It must be someone who’s constantly entertaining and energetic and who also possesses the perfect qualities to stand in front of billions of people watching at home. This year, the 2017 Oscars will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the host of ABC late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live! Kimmel has also been a host for the Emmy Awards, the ESPY Awards, the American Music Awards and others. This Sunday, he’ll be taking the stage to announce the Oscar winners.

2017 Oscars Host

“It’s something I was hoping to be asked to do, but I didn’t necessarily ever want to do it,” Kimmel said in an interview with CNN. “I know all the baggage that comes along with it and the work that comes along with it, and also the criticism that inevitably comes along with it.”

As a host by profession, it’s assured that Kimmel will do a great job leading the Oscars this year. With his humor, he might even take the edge off with a few comedic comments. Either way, who knows what Kimmel has up his sleeves for us this Sunday night. We can’t wait.
