Since we were little, many of us have always dreamed of our wedding day. We’ve pondered about who would be standing up there with us, the perfect dress and the venue. It’s a day in which we can be as selfish as we want because it’s supposed to be all about us. Not only are we celebrating the love shared with our partner but it’s also about creating a memorable experience for those in our lives.
Stats have shown that marriage rates are currently decreasing, but wedding prices are getting steeper. The price of an average American wedding is $35,329 according to the Washington Times, while the most expensive weddings are in Manhattan at $78,464. Well, one wedding blows those prices out of the water.
Folarin Alakija recently got hitched to Iranian model Nazanin Jafarian Ghaissarifar. Alakija’s father is a Nigerian oil tycoon and the 18th richest person in Africa, so it’s safe to say they’re loaded. Their wedding was hosted at Blenheim Palace in England for a whopping $6.4 million. Might as well do it big, right?
Blenheim Palace is a breathtaking, baroque, architectural fantasy! Looking at the magnificent and incredible beautiful building you can't help but being in awe! The palace is still the family home of the Dukes of Marlborough. Sir Winston Churchill, a descendent of the Dukes, was born here in 1874. A must-see if you are in the area. #blenheimpalace #sirwinstonchurchill #dukesofmarlborough #baroque #baroquearchitecture #baroquefantasy #worldheritagesite #beautiful #breathtaking #love #palace #instadaily #instagood
The approximate price of borrowing the venue is $190, 965. So, where did the rest of the costs come from?
Well, for one, the couple had their first dance on a marble floor accented with their initials in gold. I mean, aesthetics, right? Victoria’s Secret model Shanina Shaik was in attendance and snapped a pic. One of the main features of the wedding was the use of a million white flowers, which made for a seriously enviable backdrop.
The couple had help from one of the best in the industry, celebrity florist Jeff Leatham, who’s also the artistic director of the Four Seasons Hotel in Paris.
There was also a 12-foot wedding cake, covered in blooms, and a five-course meal. The reception ended with Robin Thicke performing and a fireworks show. As for Nazanin’s dress, she chose a strapless gown with subtle lace detailing.
I guess it’s true that you really do get what you pay for. Meanwhile, I can’t get a text back.
