You Might’ve Been Pronouncing Reese’s Wrong This Whole Time

Reese’s is one of the best chocolates here in the US, but what is the correct pronunciation of this delicious treat’s name? Is it Rees-EES or Ree-SIS? It’s like figuring out if it’s to-MAY-to or to-MA-to or figuring out if it’s car-mel or car-a-mel? These debates have plagued people for years, to the point of broken friendships and the apocalypse. Wait, does apocalypse have another pronunciation? Let’s not bring up another debate, let’s focus on this one.

The world has been divided, but unlike other strange and confusing words in the English language, the Reese’s debate has finally been put to rest. I ask you to sit down (well, I assume you’re already sitting down), take a breath  and watch this commercial:

Yes, one of life’s greatest mysteries has been answered. Reese’s is pronounced none other than Ree-SIS.  We can all go home now and continue our daily lives now. Though, it would be nice to know how exactly you pronounce caramel, too. Guess we’ll never know.
