Get ready to GTL – the Jersey Shore cast is coming back for more.
The Asbury Park Press reports that several cast members from MTV’s greatest reality show in history were recently spotted with camera crews in the New Jersey towns of Asbury Park and Point Pleasant Beach last month.
“They were here for a couple hours and had dinner and played boardwalk games,” said Toby Wolf, director of marketing for Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, where cast members, including Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley, filmed on June 16.
JWoww even Snapchatted a picture of the scene with the caption “We’re back.”
If that’s not enough evidence for you, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has been busy all weekend retweeting articles about the reunion.
As someone who not only grew up 20 minutes from the OG Jersey Shore house but also gathered with friends religiously to watch the show in college, I couldn’t be more stoked. I still can’t peel myself from the couch when MTV decides to run a marathon of the reruns.
However, once again, NJ residents are pissed.
“The show had some potential at first, but they are a complete disgrace to the state, and they shouldn’t be here at all,” one resident, Letisha Johnson, told NJ.com. “Frankly, I’m surprised that they are actually coming back to the Shore with some of the cast members in legal trouble and such.”
Well, let’s face the facts: it’s not going to be as interesting as the first go-around in 2009. Snooki and JWoww are both moms, and with cast members pushing their 40s (Pauly D is 37) it’s just not going to be the same drunken antics.
But are there sparks still flying between Ronnie and Sammi? Will The Situation pull another robbery? Will Vinny’s mom make an appearance to cook the cast dinner?
We need answers.
