Wonder Woman made a mind-blowing $700 million worldwide when it premiered. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed, it’s very likely that a sequel is going to happen and rumors about it are already beginning to fly.
So, what adventure will Diana be sent on next? Will she be crushing modern day patriarchy? Maybe she’ll be reunited with her Amazonian sisters on Themscyira? While both of those plots sound interesting, according to details from Screen Rant, neither will happen.
According to Screen Rant, Wonder Woman 2 will be set in the 1980s. Diana will be battling the Soviet Union during the Cold War. It would make sense that she’ll be fighting in clothes better suited for battles instead of the dresses and skirts she wore in the first film. It also means she just might be subjected to the horrible fashion statements of the 1980s.
It’s also rumored that Chris Pine, who played Steve Trevor, will be returning, which means that Steve isn’t really dead. Come to think of it, we never actually see Steve’s dead body… That explosion could have been a portal to another dimension for all we know. Maybe one of our favorite DC couples will live to make out another day.
