The Trailer For Season 2 Of ‘Stranger Things’ Is Finally Here

“Nothing is gonna go back to the way it was. Not really,” Sheriff Hopper states in the season two trailer of Stranger Things.

The trailer premiered Saturday at Comic-Con in San Diego and fans gave it a standing ovation. It was also the first time the cast had seen it and they were equally as excited.

The gang rescued their friend Will from the “Upside Down” in season one, but the lives of the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana are anything but normal at the beginning of the new season.

The trailer is set to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and the residents are disturbed, facing even bigger problems than last season, especially Will, who seems to be especially traumatized after returned from the alternate world.

Fans took to Twitter to express their excitement and makes some jokes, of course. Here were some favorites:

And fans are buzzing about possible theories of what’s going to happen in the next season.

Many believe that Eleven is alive, but she’s in a lot of trouble. She survived her encounter with the Demogorgon in season one and we’re sure we’ll be witnessing more of her strength in season two. It’s also believed that Eleven has some sort of unknown relationship to the Demogorgon. If you remember in an earlier episode, she even claimed that she’s the monster.

There has also been some chatter about Nancy Wheeler and how she will obviously end up in the arms of Jonathan Byers where she belongs. The two have a strong connection considering they teamed up against the monster together and Wheeler will be looking for some companionship after the shocking disappearance of her best friend, Barb.

Some even claim that Will Beyers could be a part monster now. Will was in contact with the monster and spent most of season one in the darkness so maybe he has a touch of evil inside him now.

And most of us are still trying to figure out what the “Upside Down” really is. It’s suggested that it’s some sort of alternate universe, but some say that is could be the fate of Hawkins. Fans suppose that Eleven made a hole in the time-continuum allowing bits of the future to seep into the present.

YouTuber, Planet Calvin, makes a strong case for Eleven being Sheriff Hopper’s daughter. Maybe Hopper’s memory of his daughter’s death from cancer is just a lie he tells himself and others. The timeline of Hopper’s daughter lines up pretty well with the story of Eleven’s mother, Terry Ives.

Whatever happens, we know it will be mind blowing.

Season two of Stranger Things premieres on October 27, on Netflix.
