SZA Net Worth 2017: How Much Is SZA Worth Right Now?

From a college dropout to performing on the stage of the BET Awards, SZA has quickly become an artist to take note of. With the release of her latest studio album Ctrl, SZA has been dominating the charts. Her hit song “Love Galore” has been featured in the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs, along with other tracks from the album.

SZA’s Estimated Net Worth As Of 2017: $300,000

But it wasn’t all red carpets and performances for the young 26-year-old musician. Born in St. Louis on November 8, 1990, SZA (Solana Imani Rowe) moved to Maplewood, New Jersey as a small child. She was raised Muslim in the predominately white town where she felt sheltered and was often a victim of bullying.

Graduating high school in 2008, the singer went off to three separate colleges where she “got high and failed out.” She mentions a lyric about the situation on the track “Go Gina” on her album in which she sings, “I’ve been dropping out, and I’ve been hanging out with my high friends, and we too stoned to pay attention.” After dropping out, the singer-songwriter held odd jobs, like working at Sephora, to support herself.

2011 – 2012

She began recording songs on the side with friends, and in 2011 she met a few members of Top Dawg Entertainment, and the rest was history. She began to take singing more seriously and in October of 2012, SZA released her first mixtape, See.SZA.Run. It received major praise and critical acclaim, building an alternative following. The following year, she independently released her second mixtape through Top Dawg Entertainment. And just like the last, this mixtape was another success.

Two years later, SZA came out with the extended play, Z, which she wrote entirely herself. It was the first time SZA collaborated with other artists, including Kendrick Lamar and Chance the Rapper.

Since then, the singer-songwriter has received praise from across the country and even globally. Her debut album, Ctrl, has soared up the charts in France, Switzerland, Australia and all over the world. She has worked with many different artists including Travis Scott, A$AP Ferg, Rihanna and Wale, to name a few.

Now, as she embarks on her North American tour this fall, there is no doubt that the musician has earned well-deserved wealth and praise from her hard work and incredible talent. We look forward to more music and success from this year’s breakout R&B artist.
