When I was a kid I was would play grownup, I’d go into my mom’s makeup bag and put a pound of makeup on. I guess that’s what my 6-year-old-self thought being an adult was. Then I was a teenager and it was the time to pretend you had your little awkward life together, but you actually had no idea what you were doing. Still, that was fine because you were a teenager and no one expected you to have life figured out.
When you are an adult, you are expected to have your life together. You know pay your bills, feed yourself, balance work and personal life, and should be able to fake a smile while being stressed out. Your days of clinging to your parents for food, shelter, internet, and your phone are over (or will be).
Let’s be honest you don’t just turn 19 or 21 and BOOM you’re an adult now. It takes time and that process is called “adulting.” So if you’re struggling with adulthood, don’t worry, you’re not alone. Check out 20 tweets about what adulting actually feels like.
It’s the little things that count.
I have finally managed to keep a chapstick till it ran out without losing it or washing it. I feel like I have peaked as an adult. #imreadyforapuppy #balmshotchapstick #adulting
