In the last episode Betty turned to Jughead for help to cover up her mother’s deathly incident, and despite Alice’s judgemental attitude toward FP, they find him to be an unlikely ally in helping cover up their secret. Jughead sends the Pickens’ head statue to the Lodges, and Veronica’s dad considers this a declaration of war. Before the mayhem ensues though Veronica convinces Jughead and FP to have a sit down with her dad, but it doesn’t go too well.
Also, Mama and Papa Lodge threaten to expose Mayor McCoy’s affair with Sheriff Keller in an attempt to keep McCoy under their control. Veronica, however, warns McCoy first of the blindside and she resigns from office before the scandal can break and Veronica saves her friendship with McCoy’s daughter, Josie.
As for Archie and his deal with Agent Adams, when Adams takes things too far (like showing up at Archie’s house and spending time with Archie’s dad) all in attempts to get Archie to give him more info on Ronnie’s dad, Archie finally chooses a side and confesses what Agent Adams has planned for Hiram in hopes of saving Hiram, himself and his dad from anything bad happening to them.
The last five minutes though we find out that Agent Adams was actually hired by Hermione, who used him to “test” Archie and that not only did he pass, but she welcomes him into the family.
This week in Riverdale, Veronica, Archie, Jughead, and Betty take a trip away from all the drama, when Hiram suggests that Veronica and Archie head up to their lake house for the weekend and Veronica decides to invite Betty and Jughead to come along. Back in Riverdale Cheryl makes a surprising connection with an unlikely friend.
