So I realize it is mid-August, and that means that it’s taken me pretty much all summer to get my bikini shaving to a level of perfection. As someone with sensitive skin, I am often prone to razor burn and the dreaded ingrown hairs. If you have ever had an ingrown hair you know that they are painful, unattractive, and pretty tricky to get rid of.

You’ve probably heard the ladies at the makeup counter talk about people being “seasons,” and what colors look best on a face. But you may have never done the research to figure out exactly which colors are meant to consistently work best for you.

Let me start off by saying that I am a firm believer in spending money on quality makeup. Oftentimes well-trusted and expensive brands of makeup are more effective, longer lasting and – shocking – a much better product all around. However, there are times when buying the expensive stuff is just stupid.

Usually I hate when things happen ahead of season, like when Halloween stuff starts popping up in August, or when Christmas decorations are everywhere in September. In general it is just plain wrong. I don’t need a blow up outdoor Santa snow globe before Halloween has even passed. Actually, I don’t need one of those at all. Ever.

Who knew that beer was helpful for more than getting drunk? Actually though, it turns out that lots of food and beverage products are quick fixes for hair and skin problems. Spend 5 minutes looking through your pantry or fridge and you’re sure to find some ingredients that could improve your beauty problem areas.

There’s always ways to make things better. Sprinkles make ice-cream better. A diamond ring makes an outfit better. Vodka makes…well anything better. But what if there was a simple way to make your daily makeup routine better without revamping your whole collection?

Moles helped make celebs like Marilyn Monroe and Cindy Crawford famous. Their moles were sexy little perfectly-shaped beauty marks that everyone wanted to have. And did by picking up the press-on variety at the neighborhood beauty supply store. Unfortunately, though, a mole isn’t just another beauty accessory; it can also be the sign of skin cancer.

When I’m buying beauty products the first thing I think about is how hot they will make me. Then I consider if they’ll make me break out and, finally, look at the cost. What I don’t think about is where the product originated from. And, it seems, most of them are imported goods.

Makeup is supposed to help your look out and enhance beauty, but what happens when you mix makeup with humidity, sweat, and waves? Raccoon eyes, that’s what. Raccoon eyes aren’t even a good look for raccoons, so they definitely won’t add to your summer style.
