The Morning After: The Skinny Kid
I think we can all agree that it’s exciting when you run into someone wearing your university’s logo/mascot/colors when you’re far away from campus. You instantly wanna give them a “Go [insert team name here]!” before high fiving them and talking about all the wonderful things you have in common.
Intern Diaries: Getting a Little Frustrated
Let me start this off by saying I love my internship. I mean really, I do. I know I might complain about it sometimes, but in the end I enjoy my time here and have gotten amazing experience.
The Morning After: Unsuccessfully Forgetting the Ex
I was in a new college town and my roommate just got her fake ID in the mail. Coincidentally, I had also just told my ex I didn’t want to talk to him anymore. I needed to stop thinking about him all the time if we weren’t going to be together. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
Intern Diaries: Mastering the Art of Passing the Time
Some days at my internship I get to do so many fun things – like a random lunch with Kendra Wilkinson or Edie Falco, or doing a video interview of an all-male a capella group (OK, that one was a little strange…). Some days, I’m just kept busy doing any number of things, whether it’s searching for the perfect ice cream cake at Ben & Jerry’s, researching celebrities who have said they want to renew their marriages, or helping out in the fashion closet (a personal fav).
The Morning After: Pop a Squat
While you’re busy busting out A+’s and making new friends in college, it’s always really nice to go home for a weekend. And that is especially true during your freshman year when home friends routinely have elaborate parties where people drunkenly reunite.
Intern Diaries: It’s (Intern) Party Time!
Sometimes interning in a Big City is really exciting- the celebrity events, the high-profile bosses…even the extra-complicated coffee orders can be fascinating at first. Other times, like last week, it was completely overwhelming.
The Morning After: Operation Bagel Bites
Every time my roommates and I have a party we tape our kitchen cabinets shut, empty out the fridge and hide all of our food in our locked rooms. We want to protect ourselves from those random drunk idiots that may come through and steal everyone’s sh*t, eat all their food and make a big mess.
Intern Diaries: Playing Nice and Making Friends
When I first started this internship in December, there were only a handful of other girls with me. We spent most of our days interning together gossiping quietly behind our computer screens, venting angrily about the ridiculous tasks we were asked to do, and showing each other funny YouTube clips to pass the time. For the entire spring semester, we bonded in a way only unpaid jobless college graduates can…
The Morning After: Independence Night
The summer after I graduated from high school I was excited to finally be free from compulsory family vacays to celebrate the 4th of July. So to celebrate both America’s and my own newfound independence, I went big, I went all out – I went to a house party.
Intern Diaries: Fashion is More Stressful Than Work
This morning I was dangerously close to missing my train into NYC for my internship. So late, in fact, that I had to sprint from my car, up the stairs, and onto the train platform to hurl myself through the train doors about a second before they closed behind me, leaving me panting and sweating in front of a group of polished businessmen. (Always a good way to start the day.)
