I love cooking and finding new recipes, but my organization system could use a little work. Right now it’s nonexistent — all my recipes are either in a bookmarked page of a cookbook, copied from a magazine and stuffed into a folder, or housed on Evernote or Pinterest. I may have finally found a way to keep it all under control, however, with Forkchop.

Forkchop helps you keep all your recipes in one place by allowing you to import them from various website and magazines. Once you have all your recipes uploaded to the system, it’s easy to search and  keep them all organized. You can add in your own recipes or import them from anywhere on the web via their bookmarklet.

Forkchop also allows you to take notes when cooking (so if a you make any changes or additions) or make changes to the recipe itself (in case the recipe calls for more onion than you’d care for or you find that the if the baking time isn’t quite right) and save them all to the system as well.

One of my favorite features of Forkchop, though, is the shopping list feature. Choose a recipe from your list and click “add to shopping list.” Forkchop then adds all the ingredients to a shopping list automatically! You can also add in other ingredients or import the ingredients from another recipe with just a few more clicks, then easily pull the list up on your phone when you’re at the store.

Right now, Forkchop is still in beta, so using it is totally free! So if you think it sounds cool, don’t wait to sign up!

The Beauty Department is of my favorite go-to resources on the web since I discovered the site a few months ago. Brought to you by the always-chic Lauren Conrad and her hairstylist and makeup artists, Kristin Ess and Amy Nadine, The Beauty Department houses all sorts of wonderful hair, makeup and nail how-tos and helpful tips, accompanied by gorgeous pictures!

Check out this this fab ombré manicure or this colorful, temporary hair color idea or these articles on how to seal your mascara and clear-skin tips. In addition to the great tutorials and tips, The Beauty Department also has great articles on current and upcoming beauty trends (like hair chalking), and even hosts awesome giveaways every once in a while!

A lot of you may have even seen The Beauty Department‘s hair and/or makeup tutorials on Pinterest and didn’t realize that they came from this awesome little site. Every day there is something new to learn – the site provides you with your “daily dose of pretty”!

We all know the importance of taking care of our health, but let’s be honest — we usually don’t make it as much of a priority as we probably should. The good news is there are small steps you can make every day to improve your health in the long run… but if you’re anything like me, you have a hard time remembering to do those things.

Budge can help with that.

Budge helps you build healthy habits by sending you daily reminders. Beyond simply writing it on a Post-it note or setting a reminder on your phone, Budge will text, email or tweet you every day (at whatever time you choose) to remind you to take small steps toward a larger goal.

The school year is almost over, and many of you may be graduating! At this exciting time in your life, you have lots of things to focus on — one of the most important being, of course, what you want as your graduation gift.

One part of Jibe is a regular job search engine. Type in a job title, company name or keywords along with a location, and Jibe will return a list of relevant jobs. Once you find a job you think you’re qualified for, click the “Apply” button at the top.

Now this is where Jibe is different from other job search sites. Once you click “apply,” Jibe will ask you to sign in with either Facebook or LinkedIn. Then, after you upload your cover letter and résumé, Jibe will scan your network of LinkedIn or Facebook contacts to see if you know anyone that currently works at the company you are applying for. If so, you can ask for them to give you a “thumbs up” — a quick referral that can help set you apart from the sea of other applicants.

The referral feature is, however, optional, as there are probably plenty of jobs on Jibe that you’ll want to apply for where you won’t know someone who can give you a recommendation. But it’s a great resource for you to utilize if you do have the connection!

Many of you are probably like me in the fact that I like to take notes and make comments for myself in all my textbooks and printouts I read for class. Do you ever wish you could do the same with a website? Well with Markup, you can!

Markup is a cool web app that lets you mark up webpages with drawings or text and share them. It’s just as simple as it sounds: just drag the Markup button to your browser’s bookmark toolbar — there’s nothing to download!

When you find a page you want to share with someone, click on the Markup button, draw and edit to your heart’s content — you can even get fancy with different colors and shapes. When you’re done, click “publish” and Markup will then create a link that you can share with anyone. People you send marked-up pages to can also respond to your markup by marking up the page themselves!

Markup is great for taking notes on a website you might look at for class, for sending your thoughts on an interesting article to a friend, or countless other uses!

Lightweight, sheer scarves are one of my favorite accessories for the warmer months. Unlike their heavier cool-weather counterparts made out of wool or other heavy knits, these are usually made from linen, gauze, chiffon, or sheer cotton, making them light enough to wear when it’s warmer outside. There are times that the pressures of school and work just get to be too much and I find myself itching to just get out of town. However, my schedule and my budget don’t really allow me to do that as often as I’d like.

I’ve found that an easy way to satisfy the travel bug is to explore new places in my city! I love visiting new restaurants, museums, nature preserves and other local tourist attractions I might not normally visit since I live there. And one great resource to help me find cool places to explore is Trazzler.

Think of Trazzler as a sort of traveler’s guide, except for your hometown. Trazzler‘s “experts” review all sorts of attractions, nature preserves, historical sites, bars, art galleries, beaches and more, and their micro-reviews detail exactly what makes each place unique and awesome. Of course, since Trazzler features guides for a range of cities, it can come in useful when you’re actually planning a real vacation as well. Trazzler also has an awesome iPhone app, so you can explore your town (or the world) from just about anywhere.

Another great thing about Trazzler is that you can contribute to make the site better! Every week, Trazzler hosts contests for its visitors to submit reviews and photos, and the winners get prizes, cash, and/or writing/photography contracts with the site. How cool is that?

Just from my first five minutes exploring Trazzler, I already had a list of places I wanted to check out over the weekend. It’ll definitely be my resource for coming up with new restaurants to try, day trips, and places to take out-of-town visitors!

I loved Easter when I was a kid, because besides all the candy, it always meant I got to pick out a brand-new dress to wear to church.
