You didn’t see it coming. Things between you two were going splendidly then – bam – he dropped the bomb. “It’s just not working,” he tells you. You stare at the floor, fighting back the tears. When he finally leaves you grab your laptop off the desk and climb into bed. Then you fire up the saddest songs you’ve got on iTunes and start crying.

Your alarm goes off and before you even get out of bed, the winter chill hits you. It’s gonna be a cold day, which is great since you have 4 classes and a meeting. You pull back the covers and jump out of bed. Holy hell it’s cold. You curse your state. You curse your old house and it’s terrible heater. You curse your stupid choice to pick a school not in the Caribbean

Your stomach has been churning since you walked out of your last exam. You know the grades are curved, but you also know that leaving the last essay blank is not going to bode well on your overall score. You talked to your friends in the class and compared answers. You’ve flipped through your notes again and again. You’ve attempted to calculate your score in your head.

Ok, so not in so many words, but a recent study out of the University of Georgia claims that “less attractive” people would see much more happiness and success in rural communities than in the big city.

It all started at the 2008 VMAs. Britney (surprisingly, to some) took home 3 awards, including the top honor, Video of the Year. After two babies, a failed marriage and a serious fall from grace, the world celebrated the return of our favorite pop star.

I understand the glory that comes with watching a winning team. And, thanks to the past couple of seasons, I am learning the pain associated with watching a losing one. So I get that coaches would do whatever it takes to build a team that wins. But what I don’t get is the shady recruiting process I’ve recently learned about known as The Hostess.

You have four finals in three days – a Blue Book, two exams and a paper. You sit in your last class of the week. As your professor outlines the format of the test, you outline everything you need to do between now and Winter Break.

The first time I ever grilled my own burgers was for a boy that I loved. I wanted so badly to impress him, that when I realized we were the only two people on campus for summer term I invited him over for dinner and Sangria on the porch. I spent all day shopping and preparing.
