While the historical doll franchise may not be nearly as popular as it was in the late 90′s/early 2K, we all had (at least) one of these at some point. Whether you were a super-classy Samantha, a down-home Kirsten, or a spicy, adventurous Josefina, your doll of choice said a LOT more about your 8-year-old self than you thought.

As much as we all want to believe it’s the sensibility of the bag that matters, the one feature that makes us swoon and drain our savings accounts is the designer label. Regardless of the color, design, or cliche monogram, the second we hear it’s D&G, Fendi, Prada- whatever you prefer- we’re instantly won over.

Even though today’s Disney stars like Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus seem to get way more attention than anyone back in the Zoog Disney days (late 90′s/early 00′s) ever did, I would much rather watch re-runs of Lizzie McGuire rather than The Suite Life on Deck or Shake it Up. As a certified 21st century girl, I love all forms of “e” (or “i” for all you Mac geeks) communication. Email, IM, tweeting, texting- they’re all great ways to stay connected, so why are movie theaters, schools and other public places getting so strict about them?

Here at CollegeCandy, we’re constantly getting feedback from our readers (which we LOVE — keep it coming!). But every now and then (okay, fine, everyday), we get some strange, awkward and just downright offensive comments. Instead of ignoring these trolls and letting them have the last laugh from the dark depths of their parent’s basement, we decided to give them a little shout out.

I think we can all agree that the early social networking sites were total and complete fails. Myspace, Friendster, Meebo — all those ugly, tacky sites got us through the early 2000′s. But when Facebook was born in 2004, it was truly the a revolution for social networking. Real names, professional-looking profiles, this site really had it going on… until Zuckerberg decided to start implementing the crazy changes that the site is now for infamous for making.

Celebrities come in all shapes and sizes. We’ve got all the 4-foot-somethings down in the “tiny” category with Snooki (4’11″) and all the “average” people hanging out in the severely overcrowded 5-foot-something category. But then there’s a few women who obviously have either goddess genes or were giants in a past life, cause they’ve made it into the 6-foot-and-over club.

Today it’s all about what car you drive, what bag you carry, or what your phone is capable of doing, but back in the day, it was all about what you brought to the table– the lunch table, that is. The kids with the generic, plain fabric bags got their lunch money stolen while the kids rocking the Power Rangers box were always scoring extra points when it came to trading deserts.

You didn’t leave all your work until Sunday night did you? What!?! You did. That’s okay. No stress. You’ll get it all done. We’re so sure that you’ll get it all done that we’re giving you a few more excuses to procrastinate. This week we’ll let you swoon and drool over some boybands who wanted to be the next Backstreet Boys, but never really made it… at all. Hey, at least they can dance!

When it comes to losing weight, some people are desperate enough to try anything. Even though it’s well-known that committing to a healthy lifestyle of eating right and exercising will give you slow, but ultimately successful results, it doesn’t stop people from jumping the gun and buying into ridiculous diet fads — most of which are probably more unhealthy than being overweight anyway.
