So maybe our generation is a little bit compliment-crazy (don’t forget to comment about how irreverent and humorous my writing is at the end of this post), but accepting a compliment is always just a tad bit awkward. Why can’t we just say thank you?
Please: just work with me. I am trying to help you; I am on your side! I guess I should start with an apology, or two. I'm sorry I burn you, cut you and tie you up. I'm sorry I color you, curl you, straighten you and harass you in countless other ways. If it's any consolation I do it out of love.
From libraries to public transportation, everyone is always on his or her phone and they’re always being very rude about it. As a misanthrope I find everything about society to be extremely irritating but overheard phone conversations really grinds my gears. Who’s with me? All of you? Ok!
Flares are a big trend this fall/winter, which is surprising as they've typically been a spring hit. This denim cut can add length to any height and looks good on any body type. Now that skinny jeans have become so common -- they are a staple in almost everyone’s wardrobe -- Stylistas are seeking a less skintight alternative.
With the internet came online shopping. Nowadays some stores have gotten so in to the online, that they are there exclusively. That's right, you can't buy it in stores because they don't have one! It's pretty revolutionary if you ask me, considering someday we will do everything on the internet...and have robots...and flying cars -- I digress.

Red has it's heyday during the holiday season (and Valentine's Day!), but that doesn't mean you can't look fabulous in this feisty color any time of year. Stand out in a crowded bar in a lust-red bodycon dress, or look sophisticated in a berry-red blouse for your in-class presentation. Red is perfect for a first date or just to spice up your look for everything from work to class to Saturday night

We all know that the perfect pair of pants is a must-have. A stylista's closet is simply incomplete without them -- bootylicious jeans, forgiving slacks, hold-in-your-chub leggings...all essential to seamlessly completing any look. But from time to time we at CC see some "oh-god-why" looks. And often those looks are made that much more atrocious due to a perfectly horrible pair of pants.
Polka dots had a big come back this season. Modern takes on polka-dots have been shown all over the runway by designers who were inspired by the vintage print. Polka dots manage to make a dress look chic without being too busy. They can also make a classic purse look up-to-season. This trend ranges from bold to understated, and is far from just black and white.
YSL once said that fashions fade, but style is eternal. He really hit the nail on the head with that one. Just because a print, cut, or pattern is trendy does not, I repeat does not, make it stylish. Or for that matter flattering. Below are 10 trends we've seen this year that need to go back to whatever closet they came from.
Unless you’ve fallen off the face of the earth (and the internet) for the past three months, you know all...
Aztec prints are all over every celebrity fashionista and runway model this season. From geometric inspired to floral-esq, the Aztec print is constantly revamped and always fabulous. But with this chic print comes some rules: don't overload, do try in bright colors, and do wear into spring!
We all love shoes. From heels to slippers (I know how much you all love UGGs), we can all agree that shoes are the key ingredient to a perfectly chic outfit or the perfect pick me up on a bad day (hello retail therapy). They can say a lot but who you are, what you like and what you're interested in. Especially sneakers. Just because they're basic footwear, doesn't mean they don't make a bold statement.
Surefire sign the holidays are upon us? Sequins are just about everywhere. From Wet Seal to designer boutiques. Everyone is wearing sequins, but unfortunately not everyone is wearing them right. To avoid looking like a disco-ball, follow these easy and breezy steps to look chic in sequins, glitter, and all holiday sparkle!
Realistically, there is no good way to accept a bad gift. There's the high-pitched, run your words together, "thank you so much uncle Rand for this paper weight you're the best...." Or there's even the long, drawn out, trailed off "wow, a stuffed raccoon baby? thank you..." No matter what route you take, it's pretty awkward.
Recently, Seventeen magazine put a brief archive of their magazine's 65 years! Covers include some 80s style tips (hilarious), Will Smith at his best, and the beginning of Brooke Sheilds' reign as top model. These covers are little mini time capsules, peaks into the past if you will. For more covers, read here
Every Christmas we find ourselves assaulted with uncomfortable gifts. Some gifts really can take the merry out of "Merry Christmas," and these christmas-themed sex toys are no exception. Looking for a way to break up with your boyfriend? Buy him a reindeer musical g-string.
Twitter really is a place to get everything. A sort of online 99 cent store. This week twitter and it's users are discussing the things you should never do when you're drunk. From the obvious like texting an ex to the obscure, such as accusing someone of being Dumbledore, #whenyourdrunknever has plenty of gems of wisdom for all.
Who doesn't love a good college party? In fact many argue the best partying of one's life occurs during their college years. Now with the holiday season fully in gear, parties just got a whole lot more exciting due to the the mandatory Christmas themes applied to your average Saturday night now through New Years.
I feel bad for the male gender 90% of the time. Mostly because I see them as the lesser sex..but hey don't we all? Another reason I feel bad for them is that they don't get to use make-up. That's not an airtight statement, but for the most part foundations, shadows and lip shades are left for us girls. But with this great gift of makeup comes great responsibility that some have chosen to abuse.
Worn correctly, sequins can be tasteful, glamorous and stylish! Revamp the sequin holiday dress, find a sequin daytime look, and even a take on stripes all for under $35.
Whilst most people don't love baby Mason like I do (hello, he's the most well dressed baby to date! Take that Suri!), the idea of another Kardashian and another Disick on this earth makes even the bravest [wo]men sigh in irritation. Well turn that frown upside down. We here at CC have reason to believe Disick isn't the dad! Who are our sources, you ask? Mind your own business, we answer.
Winter gets a bad rap. Granted it does have its flaws: blizzards, Uggs, perpetual runny noses, and pale skin complexions. These negatives aside, there are so many wonderful wonders to winter: pets in sweaters, hot chocolate, Christmas trees, Hanukah bushes, and many, many other holiday treats!
Shockingly, even celebs get cold. Yep, that's right! Your favorite celebs get cold. They shiver and they chatter their teeth and they sometimes go out of the house with wet hair and regret doing that when their bangs freeze (Okay...maybe that was only me. One time. Lesson learned).
Everyone loves stripes. If you don't, you're a psycho or you just haven't seen the light yet. Fret not friends because I am here to show you said light. Stripes are fabulous in a sweater a la Les Francais, or to spice up a favorite body-con skirt.
If you're reading this, you're smart and safety conscious. It means you're not standing in line at 5 am to get your hands on this years newest Wii console or whatever it is the youth are buying these days. To reward you for sensibility, here are some hilarious images of people in stampedes, endless lines, and fights. All probably happening right now at your local Target, Macy's, or Best Buy.
If you're crazy enough to leave your house on Black Friday and enter into a mall, or any form of store you need to game plan your assault on the box stores. Gear up with these five apps and make the most of your Black Friday suicide mission.
As we all know I'm not winter fashion's biggest fan. For proof review my thoughts on sweatpants and North Faces. But I digress... The key to staying warm in winter is always in the accessories, but these scarves, earmuffs, hats and gloves make me wonder maybe we're all just better off freezing.
So either invite your boyfriend down for the holidays, patch things up with your high school ex or find your old friend with benefits phone number, and relive some stress. With your anxiety levels in mind, below are 10 great places to relive that stress over this Thanksgiving break. Got anymore ideas? Please share!
Websites like Etsy are great for many reasons; apparently aside from scoring some cheap and stylish finds, the site includes work that's a little...less traditional. From a Beyonce-inspired clay doll to a sperm-print bedspread, here are some of the weirdest finds on Etsy. Get ready for some major laughs and WTF head-scratches!
Lace is traditionally feminine but it's lack of elasticity make its a very structured look which provides the perfect amount of contrast. Whether you sport it on a skirt for a night out or on a blouse for job interview, you can never go wrong in lace.
I've decided to counter these hideous slippers (yea guys, they're slippers not boots) with 10 boots for under $200. Today's retail price of a pair of UGGs is between $150-$180 (for the traditional UGG Australia brand UGGs), so it's not like I'm asking you to hand over a ton more cash than you already would have.
One of today's trending topics on our beloved Twitter is #GuyCode. From watching the movie Wedding Crashers to just eavesdropping on a typical bro conversation (broversation?), it's certainly not a surprise that men have a "code." But the rules and details of this Guy Code business are just fascinating.
There is something to be said about a hairstyle with ridiculous intentions. Below are 10 awesomely bad hair styles that actually seem like they were meant to be utterly ridiculous.
If you're like me and you thought you couldn't love Justin Timberlake anymore, brace yourselves. Over the weekend this cutie kept his promise and attended the Marine Corps Ball in Richmond, Va. with Cpl. Kelsey De Santis. Is Britney Spears kicking herself or what?
