During the winter months, most people’s skin suffers. It goes from bright and glowy to dull, dead and uncomfortable. I spend most winter trying to get my skin back to it’s summer luster and always want to try new products that promise to make me look alive!

Skin exfoliating is pretty much my favorite thing ever. I didn’t think I even needed to do it until my college roommate let me borrow her scrub. My skin was smoother than ever before and when I used my moisturizer, my face looked healthier than it had in a long time. Ever since then, I’ve been using St. Ives Invigorating Apricot Scrub because it’s incredible and costs only about $4.

My favorite part of spring is the style. The make up and hairstyles that become popular in the spring remind me of my second semester of senior year of high school when I finally had time to work on cute hair styles and perfect my make up for the day. I love the combination of a cute, braided bang with dewy skin and shimmery eye shadow. To me, this look just screams “spring.”

Most makeup users apply blush daily, but some overlook highlighter. A good highlighter won’t make you look like a disco ball; it will blend seamlessly into your skin and define your bone structure. Anastasia is a brand known more for brow products, but their makeup packs a real punch. I’m testing out their blush and highlighter.

Who doesn’t love big, curly hair? I know we do down here in the South, and there’s never a day that goes by when I don’t see a girl with hot rollers in her hair at my sorority house. Big curls are a big deal and yet so simple!

Make Up For Ever is a fantastic cosmetics brand, known for professional-level products. Their Rouge Artist line of lipsticks are pigment-saturated and deliver a huge dose of color. I love the formula, but sometimes don’t want to wear such an intense lip shade. This is where the new Rouge Artist Natural range comes in.

Okay, so this may sound like a weird pick for a beauty product column but I 100% swear by Vaseline. For years I’ve been using it for everything to keep my skin and lips moisturized. Especially for lips. I literally put it on every morning and every night before bed, and even before heading out for the night, and haven’t had to worry about chapped lips all winter.
