After consulting some of my ever-gorgeous friends and us some of my ever-gorgeous friends and using my own knowledge, here are my tips for looking great even though you just rolled out of bed.

Ponytails are great for keeping your hair out of your face or off the back of your neck or if you’re just having a bad hair day. They’re easy, which is why we love them so much. But the regular ponytail can be a bit dated sometimes.

Judging by my frostbitten fingers and my long underwear (just kidding…kind of…no just kidding), winter is officially here and I’m officially freezing. Oh and officially ugly. Well not ugly. But not attractive. I’m wearing 17 layers a day. When I’m not dealing with hat hair, I’m dealing with salt stained boots leftover from freshman year.

I was watching one of my favourite new movies the other day, Black Swan, and noticed Mila Kunis was wearing a particularly stunning scarf. It was grey, and may have faded into the background the first few times I watched, but this time it jumped out! And, turns out, many other people took notice, as simply typing “Mila Kunis Black Swan scarf” into Google was enough to give me all the info I needed.

Rihanna wore this Tom Ford dress to a New Year’s Eve party in Miami. At first glance I was all about the look. I think the sleeves are awesome, love the hemline and the fact that it’s a bit longer, and even think the sash is pretty cute (normally I don’t do the whole bow thing). Here I was, thinking the outfit was pretty rocking and awesome for New Year’s… And then I noticed her nipple ring.

As Cher Horwitz puts it in the all too amazing film, Clueless, “I don’t get how guys dress today. I mean, come on, it looks like they just fell out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair – ew – and cover it up with a backwards cap and like, we’re expected to swoon? I don’t think so!” So true, Cher. SO TRUE.

I love how accessible Whitney Port’s style is. It’s not super glamorous or haute couture, but it’s still vibrant, fresh and functional. Functional is a major priority for me these days since the weather is doing its best Antarctica impression. However, winter is no excuse to slack off on the fashion front, and I’m loving this cozy look from Whitney.

Post-Christmas sales are some of the best opportunities to score great deals that you won’t find any other time of year. Lime Crime is a brand known for bright colors and bold looks. Their lipsticks are my go-to when I want to play up my lips and need long-lasting pigmentation. Seriously, they stain the NEXT day. Obviously, I was beyond excited when Lime Crime announced that they were putting out lip glosses! They promise “semi-opaque coverage combined with bursts of nebulesque sparkle that comes alive in indoor lighting.” Let’s see how they stood up to those claims!
