Every college girl has been there – after a late-night library session and only a few hours sleep, you wake up late with only a few minutes to throw something on and book it to class. With barely enough time to get dressed, not enough time for a shower, and bed head on top of that, what’s a stylish girl to do? Go to class with bad hair? Never!

Lucky for people like myself with an eternal love for polka dots, designer heavy weights such as Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney had us seeing spots for their F/W 2011 collections. Yes ma’am, the polka dot is big (but not literally) this season.

From the absurd to the enviable, our favorite characters’ looks have run the gamut, but there are definitely more than a few we wish we owned ourselves. Just ask Kanye, longtime fan of these iconic retro-chic shoes that are now being released to the public for sale.

I like picking outfits that I’m not quite sure how I feel about. So here we are, another outfit of indifference. Evan Rachel Wood wore this Alessandra Rich dress to the Venice Film Festival this week. The dress is almost a big-girl shirt dress, with a cinched in waist and full skirt with a thigh-high slit.

I’m going to be honest with you — my first thought after watching that Shopaholic film was ‘so this means if I got a credit card, I could have amazing clothes like that too?’ Definitely not the point, as every person I shared my revelation with was quick to point out. But what’s a shopaholic on a limited budget to do? Figure out how to do it on the cheap!

Up in my (northern) neck of the woods, there is a chill in the air and it’s got me thinking Fall! Fall is my absolute favorite fashion season; cozy sweaters, brand new denim and, of course, fall handbags! The Oasis Suedette Crossbody from ASOS perfectly defines Fall handbag and totally deserves a feature in this column.

As industy “pros” weigh in on what premiering styles they’re excited for, I say, “Guess what, fashion weeks? We don’t need these crazy, new high-fashion designs!” We have the old ones. These past innovations are taken for granted now, but they still remain a college girl’s best friends. I can’t even remember how I lived before…

Illamasqua is a cult British beauty brand that is actually relatively new. Since their start a few years ago, they’ve become known for putting out amazing products with sassy names. I love their powder blush and couldn’t wait to dig into the cream version!

Rashida Jones has a way of taking roles in projects that I truly have no interest in – The Office, Parks and Recreation, any of her movies…and yet, she’s always someone I look forward to seeing photos of. It’s like she has invisible little birds always flitting around her, making sure her hair looks flawless, her makeup perfectly applied, and her aura sufficiently radiant, even in candid shots.
