It’s Memorial Day Weekend, which means we can ignore what the calendar says and officially declare that summer has arrived! While you’re lounging in the sun, mixing cocktails and flipping burgers, keep in mind that summer music festival season is also upon us. If you felt left out when your friends talked about road tripping off to Coachella or NYC’s first Electric Daisy Carnival, now’s your chance to get back in the loop and reclaim a little music cred.

Electric Zoo is taking over Labor Day weekend in New York City for the fourth year, so you have enough time to grab some tickets (which are on sale now!) and round up your best buds for the ultimate music experience. The City’s premiere EDM festival won’t be one to miss, especially since the lineup was recently released. David Guetta? Tiesto? A-Trak? Sign me up!

Take a look at all the other names that will be playing from August 31st through September 2nd on Randall’s Island. Plus, more names are going to be added as the summer goes on.

We all love Samuel L. Jackson, and with his new role in the iPhone 4S commercial (co-starring Siri, of course) it brings up the question, “What won’t he do?” Well I’m here to tell you that the answer is nothing, because he’s Samuel L. Jackson and he’ll do whatever he wants. After all, he still got work after the horrible ending of Snakes on a Plane, right?

Well before you head off to Netflix and explore the wonderful world of Shaft, Coach Carter, and the thousands of other movies with ours truly, check out the video above. You can’t beat Darth Vader smack talking his minions. I’d say it’s his best work, yet.

I never had a pet growing up. I know, I know. Stop crying for me, guys. I’m okay now. I finally got over it. We had a couple birds (they don’t count), and we also had a dog for about two days until my parents gave it back. (Don’t even get me started…) I have always lived vicariously through my friends who have dogs, cats, rabbits, snakes, etc. I was insanely jealous of them when I was younger and wished that I could have their pets as my pets. I wanted to become a professional pet-napper, if you will.

As a little girl deprived of a childhood pet, I quickly came to love YouTube. Basically for its plethora of dog videos, cat videos, any cute animal videos, etc. Some of the best videos out there are of pets doing silly tricks for treats. Instead of working on your resume or that final paper, why don’t you watch all these videos instead? Because Sundays are for procrastinating, and this is the perfect way to do that! Enjoy!

We’ve all made the brilliant drunk decision to go to McDonald’s at 2AM and order everything off the Dollar Menu. An entire feast for $8 sounds like such a great idea at the time! Fast forward to the next morning, though, and you probably feel like sh*t.

This weekend as you venture out to the bars, get blackout and make the inevitable walk to Mickey D’s, consider ordering something new. Perhaps something from the Million Dollar Menu. Filet Mignon? Lobster dinner? Get it, girl. These guys did.

While romantic kisses in real life never seem to quite measure up to the ones on the silver screen, one can always dream. We see these ridiculously romantic kisses and get goosebumps hoping some guy will pull us out into the rain and lay one on us. Well in reality, I think I might be kind of pissed if I spent all that time on my hair and makeup just to have it ruined by a thunderstorm. And what about the lightning? I’m just saying. Anyway, movie kisses are great. There’s generally a lot of build up and tension, and it’s literally fireworks when two characters’ lips touch.

It’s my last day as an intern here at CC (tear). And because CC Editor Alex knows me so well, she knows that the greatest goodbye present she could have given me was a piece of 90s nostalgia. My love for the strange/awesome/tacky things of the 90s is well documented. I’m not sure quite why I love it all so much, but 90s kitsch really bring joy to my heart. So what did Editor Alex show me? The commercial for Nickelodeon Magazine!

When I was a kid, this was the most convincing commercial ever – I followed the instructions and got a parent to subscribe me to Nick Magazine. And that’s not the only thing that cheesy 90s commercials convinced me I needed. For your viewing pleasure, here are the top 10 90s commercials you had probably forgotten about.

This morning in the CC/COED office, we had an awesome summer jam playlist on. It’s rainy and gloomy here in NYC, so we were pretending that it was summer time. Or maybe spring break. Flo Rida’s new song “Wild Ones” came on, and we all realized something. It’s a great song, except for the parts where you can hear Flo Rida. We love Sia’s singing, and we wish we didn’t have to hear it along with Flo Rida’s rapping.

After thinking about it for a little while, we realized that Flo Rida ruins most of the songs he’s featured on. Don’t believe us? Here’s our list of songs that Flo Rida has ruined.

COED mag editor Ned just wanted to chime in to say that Flo Rida really blows. For the record.

Do you often wake up to find that pesky cats have pissed on your car? No? Me either. But apparently, for a man named Craig Turner, this was a serious problem. He made a YouTube video with very detailed instructions on how to prevent cats from pissing on your car. It involves car batteries, “a mess of wires,” and an HD camera, to name just a few components. Really.

The strangest thing about this video is that I can’t really tell whether he’s joking or not. I mean, the whole thing seems like it has to be a joke. But there are moments when this guy looks deadly serious. I spotted a ring on his left ring finger during the video. So it looks like this guy is married. To his lucky lady, well – congratulations? Your husband will make sure you never have to drive in a car that has been peed on?

When The OC premiered, well, more years ago than I care to think about, teens fell in love with Seth Cohen. More adorable nerd than classic boy-next-door, his quirkiness endeared himself to us and we were rooting for him to hookup with the unattainable popular girl, Summer Roberts. Eventually, she too fell for him and fans everywhere cheered. The rest went down in geek history.

Since the days of Seth and Summer, it’s become totally cool to like bespectacled video gamers over muscly heartthrobs (not that we aren’t loving ourselves some Chris Hemsworth…). To celebrate all thinks geek chic, The Rapper P.D.A. has released a song called GEEK…and we’re totally crushing. Check it out and swoon!
