The Golden Rule For Your Job Interview
3 days agoI’ve been on a bunch of job interviews. I’ve been interviewed by one person, a panel of three, in multiple cities, for varying sizes of companies, and for everything from retail to administrative to creative positions.Internships aren’t always fun. Way too many resemble Anne Hathway’s job in Devil Wears Prada. But if you're looking for an internship you actually like, where you can write about whatever you want, talk freely with your bosses and do it all from your bed, then you have to intern at CollegeCandy this spring!Confessions of a CC Intern
6 months agoBeing an intern is fun. This is probably only the second time in my life I’ve worried about people actually liking me. The first was my first day of college. If you’re wondering why I didn’t say kindergarten, think back to your playtime-obsessed self, your mom doesn’t leave you saying, “Make lots of friends, honey.”Welcome To The Real World: Telecommuting 101
8 months agoWorking from home is a learning experience. Some people thrive in it, they learn how to be productive without having a boss tell them every little step. A very important trait to have in today's workforce. But some people, like myself, are workaholics...and should never be allowed to work from home.Dude’s List: 14 Guys You’ll Meet In College

8 months agoGood news! More companies than ever are investing in virtual internship programs, which means interns can work from home. While still earning class credit. And building your résumé. Possibly without even taking off your make up from the night before and while “glancing” at new episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. If you snagged one this summer, it’s like a college girl’s dream!Summer in the City: Plan Ahead and Pay It Forward

10 months agoIn the shuffle of moving and getting settled in the city this summer, I lost the balance of the healthy lifestyle I led through the school year. 10 months agoIn my accumulated two years as an unpaid intern at a variety of different magazines and websites, I have learned a LOT about the art of interning. I’ve worked with super nice people, but have also had horribly scary bosses who think they’re better than you -- and I have spent countless hours trying to impress and suck up to those same people. And, well, I kind of rocked those internships. I worked hard, stayed organized, and tried my hardest to stand out in the crowd.Four Easy Tips to Help You Stay Awake at Work
11 months agoSchool’s out for summer and the time of sun, relaxation and road trips has arrived. But chances are, like me, you also have a summer job or internship that requires you to spend long hours sitting at a desk. Even if you’ve gotten a good night’s sleep, a day of nothing but sitting can leave you feeling groggy and drowsy. No one would ever walk up to a friend on financial aid and accuse her parents of being lazy, good-for-nothing, bad parents for not making enough money to send her to college. Yet people feel completely comfortable going up to a friend with an unpaid internship and accusing her of being a spoiled brat because she’s fortunate enough to be able to afford spending a summer making no money. When a friend came to visit me in the city this past weekend, I really wanted to show her a good time while also doing some quintessential New York things. The weekend was a whirlwind to say the least but I definitely learned a lot.Summer In The City: Save Money and Be a Tourist
11 months agoIf you’re anything like me, your coffee addiction can be especially financially crippling as you dish out $4 after $4. So it came to my surprise when someone in the city told me how he was scoring his coffee without dishing any green. After moving to one of the most expensive cities in the world, I’m always on the look out for deals and steals and I’m willing to bet my mother couldn’t be prouder of me right now.
