You know you’re now singing “MMMBop” in your head; you’re welcome. Hanson was huge in the 90s with their first album Middle of Nowhere, and their silky, golden locks had us going wild. In the midst of the ‘NSYNC-Backstreet Boys era, the brothers Hanson were a nice surprise. I mean, they were hot brothers. That could sing. And play instruments. We loved them, but they fell off the radar as boy bands often do. Now they’re all married with children, but that hasn’t stopped these boys men from making music. They’ve released several albums including one in 2010 called Shout It Out and their promotional concert started a riot.
Well, I hope you’re ready for this nugget of joy. You can now get drunk off Hanson as Isaac, Taylor, and Zac have created a beer brand called “MMMHop” and it will probably bring music to your ears when you drink it. It’s an Indian Pale Ale and will be available next year. Hanson if you’re reading this, we’d love some samples. Now I can’t help but think of other beer flavors 90s stars could come out with… Read More »

Boy-bands: back in the ’90s, we were their biggest fans. We rocked out to every one of their songs, hung posters of their seemingly perfect pre-pubescent faces on our walls, and daydreamed of our secret romances with them. That inevitable feeling of nostalgia whenever we hear a classic Hanson song, or relive the “Battle of the Acrobatic Boy Band Videos” (featuring none other than *Nsync and the Backstreet Boys). I must admit, I was always a bigger BSB fan, and was secretly screaming like a tween again when I heard they were going on tour this summer!
So what are our other favorite boy bands up to these days? Let’s take a trip down memory lane with our Where Are They Now: 90s Boy-Band Edition.

Dig your crop tops out of your closet, iron some patches on to your jean jacket, and sprinkle on some body glitter because we’re planning the ultimate ’90s Throwback Summer Festival.
It’s going to be hotter than Kate Winslet’s hand on a steamy car window and we’re here to give you an all-access pass to the excitement. We got stand-up comedian Joey Gladstone hosting the event, Alex Mac reciting the 10 things she hates about cliché ’90s movies, and Carl Winslow running the security team. And in between all that jam-packed action, we’re re-introducing your absolute favorite performers from the ’90s.
Contact us today (IluvZachMorris@AOL.com) to get details on how to win a cassette recording of the entire event. Read More »

[Welcome to my Weekly Love List, a list on all things I love. Because if I love them, well, obviously you should love them too. As the Backstreet Boys song says (and yes, I am actually quoting them) “My Love is All I Have To Give.” So with that throwback, here are this week’s list-worthy things…]
Sure we all remember our jams from 8th grade. Baby One More Time made pigtails cool; we were singing about Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems, even though our $5/ hour babysitting fee was our only income source; and the Backstreet Boys got us doing the Everybody dance at bar mitzvahs around the nation.
We all reminisce about those regularly (…or is that just me?), but what I fail to remember on a more regular – wow I was soo awkward – basis are the earlier 90s jams, and the jams that were from the random bands/artists (Vitamin C, anyone?). But when you listen to them now, you are taken back to that time in 3rd grade when you stopped playing pogs to bust a move to one of these…
Surely these were on the very first editions of the Now That’s What I Call Music! CDs.
Ah, memories.
Love em.
So this is my Now That’s What I Call Music! Love List Throwback. Read More »
Say I have bad taste in music; say I am so not a hipster. But I miss the good old days of cheesy, catchy, can’t get it out of your head, ‘Hit Me Baby One More Time’ pop music.
Sure the bubble gum pop craze got slammed by the critics as unoriginal/awful/insert any bad name you can think of here. But face it. What music do you pre-game to? What music do you run to at the gym?
Not Jack Johnson. Don’t even kid yourself.
We all know that screaming, dancing sing alongs to ‘Everybody (Backstreet’s Back Alright)’, ‘It’s Tearin Up My Heart’ and all the other boy band music hullabaloo is what makes taking that 5th shot so much more fun.
You may have dissed it at the time but admit it, you miss … Read More »
