On certain days when life is feeling pretty meh, or I’m too stressed out, I look to TV to cheer me up. Not to the critically acclaimed shows but to the trashy or mindless shows that make me zone out. Here are a few of my go-to guilty pleasures.

This week, Pat Sajak admitted that he and Vanna White used to party pretty hard in the classic days of Wheel of Fortune. In fact, he said that they used to tape the show drunk, after drinking “two or three or six” margaritas. Pat and Vanna, we here at CC salute you. I mean, really, how else could you get through hosting a show like that?

I’m sure Tyra Banks has sweet dreams every night. She’s got tons of money, goes to Harvard (kind of) and she’s about to release a book, called Modelland, which is sure to win the Nobel Prize in Literature. So how could she ever have a bad night’s sleep?

Well we’ve decided to make a list of what Tyra’s worst nightmares would be if she had them, and the nightmares of a retired Victoria’s Secret model are TYRA-FYING.

1. Forgetting how to “Smize”

Tyra basically invented smizing (that’s smile with your eyes for those of you not up-to-date on Tyra lingo). She probably smized right out of the womb because she didn’t have real teeth yet. If she went to a photo shoot and forgot how to smize, her empire would crumble.

2. Getting Fat Again

We all remember those pictures of Tyra in a bathing suit that wasn’t very flattering. She was getting criticized left and right for being too plump, and then she told everyone to “Kiss my fat ass!” on her talk show. It would have been empowering, except she lost the weight soon after and was back to looking like model Tyra.

3. Reuniting with America’s Next Top Model Losers

This nightmare is actually a reality. Next week, a new season of ANTM premieres, and the model hopefuls are all losers from previous seasons.  This means we will get to see more of Bre “you stole my granola bars” Scullark and Isis “the transgender one” King.

Reality television has created some interesting characters the last few years. And by “interesting” I mean “people I want to punch in the face.” Celebrities like Speidi and the Karadashian crew have infiltrated all corners of Hollywood and for what? Big booties and bushy beards? Embarrassing baby daddy’s and even more embarrassing “albums”?

Thanks but no thanks, reality TV.

We love to hate on these D-List losers (it’s my favorite pastime after day drinking and watching the shows that make them famous), but the reality of the reality TV situation is that there really are some hidden gems out there. Awesome characters whose careers have been tainted by their moronic, fame-seeking peers. These 6 reality stars have been overshadowed for far too long and I’ve had enough.

Vinny Guadagnino – Jersey Shore:
The youngest bro from everyone’s favorite guilty pleasure show is unbelievably underrated. We get it: it’s hard to be seen when The Situation is flashing his abs every time you get some camera time. Vinny needs his time to shine. And what better way than by following him around when he leaves The Shore behind and moves back in with Mama and Papa Guadagnino? We could watch him creep, smush girls in his childhood bedroom, then enjoy a breakfast spread (courtesy of mama G) with his lady friend as his mommy folds his laundry. Just sayin’, I would bet 100 Ed Hardy hats that Vinny’s his uncles are way better wingmen than Pauly, Ronnie and the Sitch anyway.

Brad Goreski – Rachel Zoe Project – and Randy – Say Yes to the Dress: What would happen if you combined Rachel Zoe’s hilariously fabulous Style Director and Kleinfelds’ over-the-top Fashion Director? Only the most fabulous makeover show to ever grace television. (Move over, Tim Gunn.) I have a girl-boner just thinking about it. Vera Wang, Pnina Tornai, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Valentino… Celebrities picking out wedding dresses… Average mere mortals getting done up by my two favorite gay men on television. SO MANY COMBINATIONS OF FABULOUS.

Cookie – Bethenny Getting Married?: This Lhasa Apso mix runs the Frankel-Hoppy household. Her vote of confidence is what got Max hired. (And thank god for that, am I right?) Whatever she says, goes. And by “says” I mean “bites.” She’s the biggest bitch in town (giving Jill Zarin a run for her money) and we all know bitches make for great TV. How do you think The Real Housewives got 1,000 spin-offs?

Zoila Chavez – Flipping Out: Her “official” title is the Director of In-House Operations for Bravo’s most neurotic, OCD designer. Hysterical. The woman watches telenovas all afternoon, refuses to exercise and chases around misbehaved dogs, all while dishing out some major sass. For the last 10 years, Zoila has put up with Jeff Lewis and his antics, putting her own personal life on hold. It’s time she kick that diva to the curb (of his $2 million dollar house) and be ABC’s next Bachelorette. Ali’s got nothing on this spicy firecracker.

Nigel Barker – America’s Next Top Model: Nigel has been living in Tyra’s ego’s giant shadow since Cycle 2 of ANTM back in 2004. But why? If it weren’t for that hot hunk of heaven, I would have stopped watching that sh*tshow years ago. Give him his own show  – I’m thinking “Nigel Barker Takes Off His Shirt and Does Things” – and I’d set my DVR to record new episodes AND reruns weekly. (Mmmm Nigel Barker Takes Off His Shirt and Stares Into the Sun, Nigel Barker Takes of His Shirt and Watches Grass Grow, Nigel Barker Takes off His Shirt and Then Takes Off His Pants.)

Let’s face it: we’ve all done some questionable things in our lives. Things we think are totally logical in the moment, but make us cringe when we think about them later on. Things that we wouldn’t even tell our best friend, because we can’t handle that look of disapproval that she’s so. damn. good at. Things that even we, ourselves, wish we didn’t know about. But things that our friends, family, and fellow CollegeCandy readers have probably done, too.

Like scoring free drinks from an unsuspecting patron at a bar, perhaps?

So here is our chance to let it all out. To share our secrets and find that maybe we’re not so crazy, so weird, so abnormal, after all. We’ll spill the beans every Tuesday and invite you to share your own similar experiences below. Just think of it as therapy. Or a really hilarious way to spend a Tuesday afternoon.

Confession: Last weekend was my friend’s birthday party – an all-day pub crawl – and I just didn’t want to go. I really dislike her other friends and I wasn’t really in the mood to spend 5 hours with them. So in the morning I called her and pretended to be sick, then sat in bed all day and watched 8 hours of America’s Next Top Model. It was amazing. Then, the next morning, my friend felt so bad that I had to miss her birthday party, she brought me soup and Gatorade.

After three entire months of reruns, and crappy MTV-I-need-a-girlfriend-and-a-life reality shows, I am more than ready for the new fall lineup, which starts this week!

In addition to our old favorites whose finales left us on the edge of our couches with mouths open and ice cream dripping on our PJs, there are a slew of new shows that are totally worth tuning into this fall.

We know it’s hard to get back into your nightly TV schedules, so we complied a guide for the must-see fall TV!

Our Returning favorites:

Gossip Girl (The CW): Monday , September 14, 8pm

Do I even have to recap? Jenny takes over as queen bee; Blair, Dan, and Vanessa head off to NYU (where conniving Georgina comes to stir up more trouble); and Serena is headed off to Europe to find her father? Let’s just leave it at OMFG, shall we?

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC): Thursday, September 24^th, 8pm, ABC

So unfortunately, no one can keep a secret these days and word leaked over the summer that it is in fact George (T.R. Knight) who will be leaving the cast. But that doesn’t change the fact that viewers have an emotion packed premiere, which features a funeral bound to be heart wrenching for us die-hard fans.

Heroes (NBC): Monday, September 21, 8 pm

Who isn’t obsessed with this show? It has taken over Facebook statuses all over the internet. The season finale left us on the edge with a new killer in town, Nathan dead and Sylar and Nathan are one! In the premiere we will see this unfold, as well as Matt and Janice getting another chance at raising their super-power baby.

The Office (NBC): Thursday, September 17, 9 pm

If you haven’t been a fan, it’s not too late to start. The show is super easy to get into, and once your hooked you’ll have plans for the next 3 weekends catching up on old seasons. There were hints in the season finale of a possible pregnancy and we hear Michael’s love interest Holly isn’t out of the picture.

90210 (The CW): Tuesday, September 8, 8 pm

It’s not going to be on the Emmy ballot anytime soon, but it’s become one of our guilty pleasures. In the finale we were left wondering who has caught Annie drunk driving and running someone off the road. Plus the season premiere is full of new hookups, what more could we ask for?

ANTM (The CW): Wednesday, September 9, 8 pm

Here’s to another season of beautiful aspiring models, apartment catfights, and hoping one screws up enough to induce a Girl-no-you-didn’t-let-me-take-my-jewelry-off Tyra smack down.

New Shows!

Melrose Place (The CW): Tuesday, September 8, 9 pm

Sure it’s like a fusion of GG and 90210 in a grown up world, but it’s another one of those shows that will pop up everywhere, so none of us want to be out of the loop. Plus, who doesn’t want to see Ashley Simpson nosedive in the acting arena, or, less likely, surprise us with actually having an ounce of talent? I know I’ll be watching.

The Beautiful Life (The CW): Wednesday, September 16, 9 pm

All you OC fans get ready; Mischa Barton is back in a new drama set around a group of models sharing a home in NYC.

The Vampire Diaries (The CW): Thursday September 10, 8 pm

This show needs no introduction or, really, a plot line at all now that we think about it. Give us a gorgeous, blood-sucking star and we’re happy. But even better for viewers, the acting and storyline look promising. After the cyclone that was Twilight, this is bound to be a hit.

Glee (Fox): Wednesday, September 16, 8 pm

We were already given a glimpse of the show with its first episode in the spring, and we liked what we saw. A lot. A more sophisticated High School Musical with catchy tunes and there are already a slew of guest stars set to join the season including Eve and Kristen Chenoweth.

Modern Family (ABC): Wednesday, September 23, 9 pm

Who couldn’t use a little AL Bundy in their lives? This comedy has been deemed “hilarious” by critics and has that fresh, off-the-cuff office feel. We’re definitely giving it a chance!

What other series premieres are you guys dying to tune into this month?

Celebrity gossip has taken over the world. We are inundated with the goings-on of Hollywood A-listers (and Z-listers) everywhere we turn, so it’s no surprise that many of us find ourselves deeply connected to those we only know from afar. We get involved in their personal business like it is our own and really feel like they are a part of our lives.

Hell, I know I’m not the only one who freaked upon finding out Miley and Joe had broken up. I was really pulling for those two!

We all know that celebs are people too and that they are bound to screw up at some point (that’s the stuff we love most, isn’t it?), but there are just some screw-ups are unforgivable. Situations and decisions that leave us asking, “How could they do this to me?! How could they turn on me!?” (Yeah, it’s a little sick, but I say blame it on the cultural climate.)

Here are a few celebs that have gone from loved to loathed, without any hope of return.

Mischa Barton

The OC was probably the biggest hit since Melrose Place, and it skyrocketed Mischa Barton to stardom. We loved her. We felt for her. And when she graced the covers of tabloids (pre druggie days, of course!) we drooled over her fresh face and knack for throwing together an effortlessly chic outfit. I had such high hopes for her when The OC unfortunately came to a close; I was certain I would see Marissa reincarnated as the star of the next hit sitcom within the next couple of months. But what came instead was a series of trainwrecks that took Mischa from the top of Hollywood to the top of my most hated list. It’s simply impossible to find an ounce of love for this girl anymore, between the DUI’s and drug induced dark under eye circles. I’ve lost any hope of her making a comeback. And any love for my innocent, lovely Marissa Cooper.

Chris Brown

“Run it” and “Kiss Kiss” used to be at the top of my getting-ready playlist – perfect to get the girls amped up for a night out as we applied our makeup and pre-gamed. And his smooth dance moves and baby face didn’t hurt either. But his music just isn’t the same anymore, what with the hint of domestic abuse that now runs through it. I know that pretty much everyone on the planet has documented his downfall, so this is a bit repetitive, but he simply cannot be left off the list of celebs who have fallen out of our good graces. When it comes down to it, I’m not totally devastated. I’m upset for Rihanna’s sake, but to be honest, I always had a hard time telling him and Ne-Yo apart anyway, so I’ll just trade “Wall to Wall” for “Closer” and we’ll call it even.

Tyra Banks

She’s gorgeous (although some would beg to differ now; swimsuit shot in the tabloids anyone?), not to mention she holds the title of being the first African American woman to be on the covers of GQ, Sports Illustrated and Victoria’s Secret. When she broke into acting she won my heart. I’ll never forget her flawless performance as Will Smith’s girlfriend on The Fresh Prince, and remember that movie where she played a Barbie come to life? Okay so she wasn’t an Oscar winner, but still, the woman was dominating. While America’s Next Top Model had it’s share of arrogant comments and almighty speeches, her downfall ultimately came when she tried to channel Oprah became a talk show host. I suppose it was a good thought, but the execution failed miserably. The production came off as a mix between Maury (Who’s my babay dadday?!) and Dr. Phil (because obviously Tyra is God and a licensed psychologist, putting her in a position to council all walks of life). Basically the show should be renamed “I Love Myself Way Too Much.” FAIL, Tyra!

Mel Gibson

An amazing actor, no denying that. He brought us “Braveheart,” “The Patriot,” and “Passion of the Christ.” And who wouldn’t include “What Women Want” in a movie night with the girls? His acting and directing career was so successful that it masked his unstable personal life for a good decade. But seriously, this guy is bat-sh*t crazy, and there’s no denying it. He’s cheating on his wife and getting girls pregnant, beating up photogs, driving drunk and walking around with one too many buttons undone. And if that doesn’t do it for you, he’s stumbling all over Hollywood giving rant after rant, many of which are directed at women (sugartits?!) and more than one which have been offensive to certain racial and religious groups (he’s not a fan of the Jews). Not even Lethal Weapon can save Mel from his spiraling downfall. I will miss his rugged-blue-eyed-dream-boy days, but now he just reminds me of those creepy over-the-hill men who give you sex eyes across the bar. Not cool, Mel. 

Jon Gosselin

I just swallowed back tears. I am ashamed to admit that I am one of the obsessively devoted Jon and Kate Plus 8 fans. I’ve seen every episode, I can distinguish all the children, and I’ve kept a frantic eye out for the family every time I visit the Outer Banks on vacation. So when I heard of this breakup, I was devastated. I’d always loved how good Jon was with the kids and really felt for him when he was constantly berated by Kate. And then they split and everything I’d ever known went right out the window. Mr. Good Dad was gone and replaced by an Ed-hardy-wearing, ear-pierced, motorcycle-riding, 20-year-old-macking douchebag.  Jon keeps blaming Kate for the paparazzi and the shameless self-promotion at their children’s expense, yet he is now attempting to leave their show in order to be on “The Divorced Dad’s Club”? Wow, Jon, that is low, even for your Ed-Hardy-clad ass. You officially are on the ballot for the Worst Dad/Husband/Human Being of The Year Award.
