The one trend we’re always happy to see resurface?
The gorgeous cameo.
This intricate form of carving dates all the way back to ancient Greece, but seems to make, well, a cameo every century for a period of time. In Britain during the 1700s and 1800s, for example, King George III and his granddaughter, Queen Victoria, loved cameos so much that they were responsible for them becoming mass-produced.
And you know what? The cameo is back in fashion once again!
Read on to discover the pieces we are totally going to have on rotation in our wardrobes this season.

No, read that a little slower. I don’t want it ruff, I want a ruff. Okay, maybe I want it, too, but if that were the main theme of this article, I would have used the correct spelling of the word. Moving on.
I remember going to the circus once in my life and not being particularly enchanted by it. The modern acts didn’t thrill me at age 6, and I certainly wouldn’t pay a couple hundred dollars now to watch unhappy, mistreated animals plod around with their heads down, or to laugh at completely generic, mindless slapstick comedy routines (that’s what George Bush and Britney Spears are for). Where are today’s knife throwers, horseback dancers and puddle divers?
I suppose most of them probably died practicing their craft, and not many have attempted to recreate the feats more recently. I know I wouldn’t. Read More »

Days as a Freshman: 72
Mood: Jumpy
“Grace?”
Sasha’s voice was louder this time, his hand still on my foot. He thought I was sleeping. Maybe I should pretend to sleep through his visit? I didn’t have to sit up and talk to him.
“Hey, Sasha.” But I did anyway. Pushing the pillow off my head I turned around and sat up in my bed. I rubbed my eyes a little to make it look like I had been sleeping, not like I had been wide-awake and contemplating answering him for the last thirty seconds.
“Hey.” Sasha smiled. The kind of smile I knew too well. The sweet, friendly smile that lit up his whole face and my whole chest. It’d be nice to live in that smile. Sleep on it like a hammock.
“What’s up? I thought you’d be out with everyone else.” I pulled a few stray pieces of hair behind my ears and wondered what I looked like. It wasn’t impressive, whatever it was. Nothing like the short skirts and lace up boots that were undoubtedly walking all over campus tonight. Nothing like the type of girls Sasha hung out with on a daily basis.
“Oh, I’m wearing a costume. Can’t you tell?” Read More »
