Can someone try to explain this? And maybe give that kid on the left something to eat?

I always thought there was nothing worse than the forced family photo for the yearly Christmas card. And then I saw this. What. The. Eff??!

That poor, poor child has to grow up knowing his parents are either really big tools or totally into Plushies and Furries.
