It is rare to find a good sequel (think Grease 2)…let alone one that rivals the original film in quality. And that’s where I come in. I’m about to tell you seven sequels that are worth watching.

Recently, our buddies at Brobible.com constructed a pretty impressive list of the ‘Top 350+ Must-Have Movies for Every Man Cave.’  Between watching over 350 movies and bumping chests, where did they find the time to create such a list?

But that’s neither here nor there. The real issue with this list is that, after intensely reviewing it (and wasting a good hour of my day that could have been spent shaving my legs…which really need it), it seems that a lot of “dude movies” that bros hold near and dear to their mustachioed hearts are really just chick flicks in disguise!

Yes, behind all the fart jokes, drug trafficking, and occasional airborne Porsches, these flicks are basically muscled up girl movies.

[Don't worry, peeps. I'm not going to spoil the ending of Lost for those of who who haven't dedicated 16 hours of your Sunday to the big event. I can't promise you the readers/commentors won't, though.]

I admit it, I am not a LOST junkie. I watched the first few seasons and then tuned in and out for episodes for the rest of the series. However, I did commit (what felt like an eternity) to Sunday night’s finale. I have to say, I wasn’t in tears nor was I pleased. Of course, there’s no way the show could’ve been wrapped up neatly with all the answers and it’s not like SVU where you can just tune in and out and still have any inkling of what’s going on.

Despite my lack of connection with the show, though, it got me thinking about endings, the great finales of our generation, last call, the ending of eras. But mostly, great finales. So I bring you, the top 10 most memorable television and movie endings. In my opinion. In no order. Post 1980s (except Dr. Strangelove). Oh and SPOILER ALERT?

10. The Sopranos
Come on, you’ll always wonder what happened when that screen went to black. Did Tony get shot? Who were those guys near him? Was it just a manifestation of his constant paranoia? And what better song than “Don’t Stop Believing” to end on? Just like every bar’s last call…

9. The Sixth Sense
Ultimate twist of all time?

8. The Graduate
Simon and Garfunkel + Epic wedding runaway + fear of the future? = instant classic ending.

7. Scarface
Who doesn’t love a big violent ending with drugs, money and guns in a huge Miami mansion? I’ll take it. And watch it 400 more times. The world is yours.

6. Fight Club
Who doesn’t want to hold hands with their true love while the city explodes around them? If that’s not romance, then frankly, I don’t know what is.

5. Back to the Future
Roads? Where we’re going, we won’t need roads.

4. Dr. Strangelove
Or how I learned to stop worrying and ride the bomb down to an apocalypse.

3. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Two words: hell mouth. Two more words: bad ass. Last set of two words: slayers galore.

2. Six Feet Under
Now that is how you end a TV series with death. Haunting, fitting and permanent closure.

1. LOST
Yeah, no, not really… but I know you’re all itching to talk about it. I still want an explanation for those damn polar bears. Anyone?

But that being said, I’ve recently realized how many new things I’ve tried since calling Matt my boyfriend.

Most people think that once you’re in a serious relationship, your fun and adventurous days are over. Well that, like most other generalizations, isn’t true!

When you love someone, you trust someone. And when you trust someone, you tend to be a little more willing to try weird things that used to make you want to barf. Those could be things that you never once considered (snowboarding), or things that you considered at one point, tried and vowed never to try again (Taquitos from 7-11). It just comes with the relationship territory; not only do you want to love the things your significant other loves, but you also know that if he or she enjoys them, maybe they’re not so bad after all.

Take food for example. About a year ago my boyfriend got me to try sushi for the first time. Being from West Texas there wasn’t a single sushi place in my hometown. Matt, however, has 3 relatives that have all lived in Japan at one time or another, so he kinda looked at me funny when I said I’d never had sushi. So I agreed to try it. I mean, if he loved it so much, it had to be OK, right?  The first few bites were a bit difficult to swallow (literally), but the more I ate the more I loved it. And I have the BF to thank for my new favorite cuisine.

And I’ve been getting Matt try new things as well. Why, just sitting here with him while I’m writing this I found out that he’s never seen any of the Back to The Future movies, aka my FAVORITE movies from when I was a kid. Guess what we’ll be doing this Christmas break?

Now, I’m sure to some of you these don’t sound all that exciting, but that’s not really the point. The point is that good relationships expose you to new things (whether it’s a new movie or jumping out of an airplane…) and push you out of your comfort zone a little bit. You can’t just do everything that YOU want to do in a relationship; you have to share experiences and hobbies, even if your boyfriend or girlfriend is a little hesitant about trying them. If things turn out well, you have something that the both of you can enjoy doing together. If they turn out not-so-well, you two have something to laugh about. (Unless not-so-well means broken bones or a bad case of food poisoning; those things are a bit harder to laugh about.) Either way, you are a closer couple in the end.

If you can break out of your comfort zone for someone it’s a huge sign that you love them. And at the end of the day, if you enjoyed that California Roll or not, isn’t showing some love the most important thing?

Remember when you were 13 and everything seemed like the biggest deal ever and “OMG you are going to die because life is just so bad”? Oh, and you were wearing giant bell bottom jeans and a shirt with a condom pocket on the sleeve? Yeah, those were the days.

Don’t you wish you could hop into a DeLorean and go back and give that girl some (fashion) advice? Maybe a little nugget of wisdom to make those angsty teenage years just a little less angsty? Unfortch, we can’t go back there (or maybe it’s a good thing – I don’t like looking at pictures of myself with that perm, so interacting with it in person would be devastating), but if you could, what would you say?

What wisdom would you impart?

Sarabeth – University of Texas: Save yourself a lot of trouble and stop hanging out with all the guys and try putting on some lip gloss before you get to high school. Maybe then you will get an actual date to winter formals, prom, etc., instead of gay men. Kthxbye.

Vivian – Rutgers University: Yeah, you know those boobs mommy promised would come in eventually? You can stop waiting – they aren’t coming.

K – GW: Dear awkward 13 (cough 16) year-old-self, piling on the Clinique and trying to fit in is hopeless and unsatisfying. Just be yourself and happiness will find you.

Maddie – Tufts: Never shave in between your eyebrows (I know, embarrassing…). Have someone show you how to use a tweezer.

Kathryn – University of Wisconsin-Madison: It’s OK to not know what you want to do with your life. Hell, I’m a college graduate and I still have no clue!

Brithny- Duke: 2 AM is the worst time to make mistakes. And, BTW, overalls with a rainbow turtleneck is not a good look for anyone. ANYONE.

Kari- Florida State: Don’t ever text him more than twice if he doesn’t text you back! Seriously. Put down the phone…
