We all have habits. Sometimes people hail them as being good — like rescuing orphans or helping old ladies across the street — while others…well, they’re less good. I feel like people (parents, grandparents, best friends, etc.) are always telling me “that’s a bad habit, you should stop!” And while I’ve had some un-stellar habits (like nail biting) that were admittedly probably not very good for me, I still have quite a few that I don’t believe I need to kick.
These are the “bad” habits that, according to some people, I should kick…but, please. I’m keepin’ ‘em.
Do you have any “bad” habits you refuse to give up? Read More »
People tend to make a lot of poor choices after consuming alcohol. And that’s before you factor in delicious drinks and fun games that aim to sneak alcohol into your system that much faster. By eliminating the following things, your college experience might have fewer headaches and exponentially improved rate of good decision-making.
Icing: This trend got so out of hand last summer that I heard countless stories of bosses icing their interns and entire bars running out of Smirnoff Ice. This so-called girly drink can get aggressive when your roommate ices you after a long night of drinking (bad) or when you’re hungover the next morning (worse).
Vodka Whipped Cream: Whipped Lightening has created the first alcohol-infused whipped cream weighing in at 36.5 proof….as if we needed another easy and delicious way to consume alcohol. Oh, and the nutritional values are miraculously missing, no calories listed so they don’t count, right?
Liquor Pong: You’re just asking for problems. Read More »

So, Valentine’s Day is 2 days away. Those who are part of a steady relationship have at least been dwelling on what to do for the holiday for a little while now, but what if you’re one of the people who thought you’d be spending the holiday alone and then, miraculously, you met someone, hit it off, and now you suddenly have a last-minute Valentine?
Shopping for V-day gifts can always be hard, but when it’s a brand new situation, it’s even harder. You need something fun, simple, and cute, but nothing too much – or too little. You need to show you care and are thinking of that special someone, but don’t want to make them think things are moving too fast.
To help you out, here are some suggestions of gifts to give, and – as a bonus – gifts to avoid. Read More »

I have a terrible love for reality television… but for some reason, Bravo’s is the best. Naturally Project Runway would be the initial draw, but after wasting many a weekend and weeknight hour in front of my TV, I’ve compiled a list of other reasons to tune in. Plus the fact that Heidi Klum is too much pretty contained in one person tends to depress me. In no particular order, here are some favorites:
Shear Genius–Former Charlie’s Angel Jaclyn Smith is the host of this competition among hairstylists. Would’ve been much more fitting with Farrah, you know, the one with the memorable hair, but apparently she’s booked or something. Anyway, the show’s ADDICTIVE. Thing marathon-worthy. The stylists are all fabulous in their own way, and their cattiness is delicious to watch. Some of the endearing ones are great though as well, you have to have an underdog to root for. They do haircuts in random locations, have awesome guests like ohhh I don’t know, Oscar Blandi? Who maybe I would kill to have ever touch my hair? Yeah. Him. Anyway, it’s fabulous and will inspire greatness.
Million Dollar Listing–Real estate actually got interesting. This season we’ve got three of the younger, most successful young men in the biz out in LA, which I ordinarily hate on principle as a New Yorker in training. But damn. The upcoming season preview got me all sorts of excited… one of these agents is 21 and sold $80 million in real estate last year. Even if his commision is only 5%, which you KNOW it’s a hell of a lot more than that…. Damn. Makes me want to change career paths… and buy a house. On the ocean. Read More »
