[Makeup is a wonderful thing. I mean, we all know what we look like when we wake up vs. when we hit the streets. (Let's not think about it...) That is why every Saturday I am bringing you the best of makeup: tips, tricks and the best products out there. No more guessing at the store; now you can shop armed with the information you need!]
When you think of technological innovation, makeup is not usually the first thing to come to mind. But those clever beauty developers are always coming up with new ways to incorporate new technologies into making us all look fabulous. Here are some of the most amazing technological advances in beauty right now.
Lancome Oscillation Mascara – ($34 sephora.com)
Lancome has always been the leader in mascara innovation, but they really did something truly unique with Oscillation. The brush actually vibrates! 7000 vibrations a minute. So what does that mean for your lashes? I know it might sound like a gimmick but it actually does a killer job of separating each and every lash. So not only does it eliminate clumping, but each lashes get coated with a superfab mascara, giving you extra length, curl and volume. Read More »

[Every Saturday I am here to bring you the best beauty products, tips and ideas. Last week I helped ya out with great Halloween makeup (that you can wear year-round!). I am sure it all came in handy last night. Today I am bringing you beauty products that will change your life! I know that seems a bit dramatic, but I'm telling you: these products are revolutionary.]
Urban Decay Primer Potion ($16 sephora.com)
This little tube may look like is holds a genie, but it actually delivers with something truly magical. Just dab this colorless cream on your eyelids before you apply shadow. It will stay on for-ev-er. If you hate having your shadow all gunked up in the crease just a few hours after you put it on, this product is your holy grail. You can put on your makeup before you go to work, go out to dinner, then a club, – get in at 1am and your eyeshadow will still look fab. Also try it just underneath your bottom lash line to keep eyeliner in place. Once you try this product, you won’t be able to live without it.
DDF Glycolic Body Lotion ($42 sephora.com)
Okay so it is a little bit pricey for a body lotion. But this is not a cucumber melon type moisturizer to make you smell pretty – it’s a serious solution to a very common skin problem: Chicken Skin! Almost half of all girls have it. That red bumpy weird pimply skin on the back of your arms and legs. If you have ever had it, you know it can be embarrassing and down right gross. Believe it or not, just a quick application of this stuff on trouble areas and you will see results in just THREE DAYS. Your Chicken Skin will turn to alabaster in no time. Once you’ve achieved the desired result, you can use the lotion 3-4 times a week for maintenance. Try it for a week, and your skin will forever be addicted. Read More »

In the spooky Halloween excitement, we’ve all fallen prey to the same trap: spending a ton of dinero on things you never use again (those white go-go boots seemed so versatile at the time!). To help you out, here three makeup items that are perfect costume accessories and beauty staples every girl should have in her makeup arsenal.
Nars Lip Pencil – Jungle Red ($20 sephora.com)
If you decided to skip the lingerie and animal ears and go for something ghoulish, this blood red pencil is perfect. You can easily draw blood droplets, gashes or scars. Try lining you eyes with it for something really creepy.
When the costume craze is over, line and fill your lips with this deep shade. Put a clear gloss over it for a glamorous look on a special night out.
Benefit BADgal Eyeliner ($20 sephora.com)
This fat eye pencil is perfect to black out some zombie eyes. It’s also a quick way to draw on mustaches or bushy eyebrows – hey you could be the Mario Brothers! Or you can easily draw on some tattoos for your Amy Winehouse costume. It also perfect for an Egyptian eye if you want to do the Cleopatra thing.
When fright night is done, simply smudge this pencil out for a quick and easy smoky eye. Or use it to create a sleek cat-eye look for something more glam. Read More »

Confession: I’m a beauty product junkie. So much so that two dresser drawers and a large makeup table can’t hold all the hair products, makeup, and countless lotions I own—I keep the extras in “storage,” two large plastic bins hidden in my closet.
And despite the fact that my collection is so massive that I actually hide half the stuff when my new boyfriend comes over (seriously, it makes me look disturbed)—I couldn’t help but check out the new Botanical collections from the healing garden.
I decided to cover all my bases: CALM: Tender Lavender whipped body lotion on my desk at work to soothe deadline stress, INSPIRE: Uplifting Jasmine rainwater body mist by my laptop at home to cure writer’s block, and DESIRE: Wild Ginger whipped body lotion and rainwater body mist at my boyfriend’s apartment. Alleviating work stress and writer’s block is nice and all, but I won’t lie—I was most looking forward to trying out the DESIRE lotion and body mist. Read More »

I hate lipstick. I hate the way it wears off about two minutes after you put it on, I hate how it leaves stains on your coffee cup or your wine glass, and I really hate how my hair always ends up sticking to my lips on a windy day.
I had pretty much resigned myself to a life without lip color–I’ll play up my eyes, I thought–and figured I’d just never be as glamorous as those gals with a deep slick of ruby red on their lips.
But then, like a blessing from heaven, beauty companies everywhere introduced me to my saving grace: the lip stain. Neither lipstick or lip gloss, the stain does as promised–it actually stains your lips, so you get a really deep color that says “oh yes, I just wake up looking like this.“
The color sinks into your lips and doesn’t rub off, plus it rarely needs re-applying. Sound too good to be true? It gets even better–most lip stains can double as cheek color as well, for a really natural flush that stays put. Read More »

Because I just spent two of mine reading this blog .You read that link right. It’s a chapstick blog, offering comprehensive reviews of every single chapstick that ever existed, with frequent updates.
This blog, my friends, is not just a blog. It is a public service, because there is nothing worse than a bad chapstick (and nothing better than a good one). The government should give these bloggers honors. Enjoy. Read More »

I definitely would not consider myself a beauty junkie. I enjoy new products and like experimenting with makeup, I mean, what girl doesn’t? But the overwhelming amount of new stuff coming out each season seems almost impossible to really stay on top of.
Besides the fact that in college, most girls don’t have unlimited funds to spend on super expensive beauty products. We’re lucky to have a few free minutes in between classes and events to run down to the drugstore for a new tube of mascara. So, when a good deal and new brand comes along that catches my eye, I feel the need to share it with the masses who would appreciate it, aka CC readers.
ELF (Eyes, Lips, Face) makeup is my new obsession and recent splurge that I actually don’t feel too guilty about. Why? Because EVERYTHING on the website is only $1! Yes, that is right girls, just one freakin dollar for lip glosses, eye shadow pallets, all over color sticks and so much more…I bought ten items for a total of ten dollars plus some shipping, and voila, I’ve already got 10 things for the price of one product normally. Can’t beat that excitement for a boring summer day.
