This morning, when my Michigan / OSU weekend hangover finally went away, I came downstairs and found my roommates laying around the living room drinking coffee and sharing stories from their weekend escapades. Note: any normal person would assume we all would know these stories since we spent the weekend together, but it was Michigan / OSU weekend…. Without my digital camera I would have no idea what happened.
It turns out that, while in bed, my roommate’s boyfriend, drunk as a skunk (yes, I just used that phrase) made an interesting request. Anal sex.
Now, this topic may not be as taboo as it used to – perhaps we can thank Brokeback Mountain for that? – but it is still a topic I would rather leave to the porn stars than bring into my bedroom. In fact, I am constantly wondering why so many guys make the request to begin with. I get that it may feel “better.” I also can see how it will really spice up a boring sex life (to which I must respond, “So will doing it in the shower.”).
But after asking around, I confirmed my suspicions as to the real reason: the story… Read More »

You scored an interview for the job of your dreams. Your suit is clean and crisp, and not a hair is out of place. You arrive at your interview feeling nervous but confident and ready to impress. You meet your interviewer, you shake hands, and…yeah…sweat city. AWESOME.
Sound familiar? Excessive sweating is quite common in nerve-racking situations such as interviews, blind dates, and public speaking…and clammy hands are certainly not the way to make a great first impression on your boss-to-be.
Regardless of where and how severely you sweat, there is a solution. DriOff Gel from Hill Dermaceuticals helps to tame your perspiration.
What’s best about DriOff Gel is that it can be used anywhere on the body where sweating occurs, including palms, feet, underarms, skin folds, cleavage, and even the upper lip. Whether you’re bundled up underneath winter’s myriad layers and burning up indoors, basking in the sun on a blistering July afternoon, or suffering from a textbook case of anxiety, DriOff Gel is the solution to all of your wetness dilemmas.

Why the HELL didn’t I think of this?! I can’t even explain how many times I’ve left my dorm room with great hair only to arrive at the bar with a frizzy, poufy mess. Many miserable hair nights could’ve been avoided if only us Americans would’ve come up with this brilliant design first.
The Straight Up hair straightener vending machine is the latest craze in the U.K., thanks to Scottish entrepreneurs Neil Mackay and Richard Starrett, founders of Beautiful Vending. These machines have popped up in more than 700+ clubs, bars, gyms and shopping centers around the United Kingdom, with interest coming in from everywhere from New York to New Zealand (they hope to enter the U.S. market later this year). So the June issue of InStyle has a beauty story called “What to Do for Cellulite” and divides up the advice based on each age group (20’s, 30’s, 40’s, etc.). For “the 20’s” age group, dermatologist Dr. David Bank says that about 90 percent of women get cellulite after puberty and I, for one, am not ok with this.
The treatment? InStyle is honest and admits that nothing topical completely gets rid of cellulite so they recommend a deep massage or “Endermologie” that actually rolls and sucks the skin…apparently this machine temporarily swells the skin and makes it appear less dimpled? Right.

I’ll admit that I don’t really have any cellulite but I do have a few stretch marks on my hips and I find it disheartening that so many girls in their early 20’s fear the secret demon of my mom and grandmother so early.
Though it may not completely get rid of cellulite, Avon’s Super Shape Anti-Cellulite & Stretch Mark Cream diminishes the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks in just two weeks and according to research, 91 percent of users showed an improvement in the appearance of cellulite and 93 percent showed an improvement in the appearance of new and old stretch marks. I’m not one who likes to be rolled or sucked by a machine of any kind and with beach season fast approaching, I’d rather spend $16.50 on Avon’s solution.

So one of my favorite bloggers, the Imaginary Socialite, snapped a pic of a girl wearing the latest nail craze – blue nailpolish. Blue is totally the new black for nails and the best shades are dark and navy-ish for summer.
As the Imaginary Socialite says, “Her nails are navy blue and they seem like a good compromise between the goth moment of fall and the other colors – metallic, light orange, hot pink – that seem just a little bit wrong.”
Start painting those digits blue.

You’ve been putting it off for weeks and now you’re “up shit’s creek with out a paddle” (as my own mother likes to say) – you’ve got like a day left to get YOUR mother a gift!
Hey, I’m a procrastinator too but make sure you get your Mom one (or all) of these gifts that inspire relaxation to show her just how much you appreciate the packages that she sends you, the money she gives you for laundry and the extra food she cooks for you to take back to school with you when you visit home for the weekend.
This AETÓ-ette Botanica Hair & Body Spa On-The-Go makes a great gift for the mom who loves to travel. Each bottle is carry-on approved (under 3 oz.) and the kit contains four products that all soothe and nourish to a state of natural bliss.
The AHAVA In the Bag Gift Set is an incredible at-home spa experience that will soothe, smoothe and pamper your mother like she truly deserves (think of all those times you gave her grief). The gift set contains a mineral body lotion, mineral shower gel, dead sea bath crystals, the AHAVA bath mitt, and it even comes in a cute mesh beauty bag with a mirror key chain! Read More »

Remember back in the day when you looked like THIS and didn’t look like an overly-browned asshole?
According to AskMen.com, you’ve dropped from the 12th most desirable woman to 21 – so basically it’s statistically proven that you’re looking not-so-hot with your faux-glow skin and mousy locks.
I get it…you’re with John Mayer now and Nick is with Vanessa but come on…you’ve looked like an asshole BEFORE so what happened to your sense of style and taste? Your boobs are popping out of your dress and the color of your skin is so fake that I’m sure if you sat down on a white chair, you would leave a mark.
For future reference, when applying self-tanner (especially if you’re quite pale) it’s best to mix in a moisturizing lotion to dilute the color until you know how dark it will turn on your skin. Read More »
