So here are my 5 spring makeup l-o-v-e-s.

1) Every season Bobbi Brown comes out with amazing limited edition lines and this Blushed Pink collection takes the cake. The shimmery shadows are a must-have. Seem pricey? Well, Bobbi’s shadows last so long that its totally worth the splurge. Hell, sometimes (when I pass out before I can wash that stuff off!) it even lasts through brunch…the next day. (What? I also love sleep!)

2) I l.o.v.e. Loreal’s HiP line. And color is not just a trend in clothes this season; it’s also a trend for your cute little punim (that’s Yiddish for face). The good news is you can add a pop of color without looking like you are wearing your old school Wet and Wild shadows circa 1998. I love the Kohl liners, especially in gold, for that spring time look.

3) Oh Petunia. how I love thee. When I don’t get enough sleep, when I am a tad (or a lot) hungover, when I look as pasty as the walls in my cubicle, you take me from lifeless to actually kind of cute! This is the best cream blush out there because it’s non greasy and gives that great springy pink look.

4) Covergirl Outlast Lipstain – We’ve all seen the Drew Barrymore ads where she looks perfectly fresh faced and springy. Yeah, well thanks to the new lipstain line, you can have perfection, too! No shine, and no hair getting stuck on your lips when the wind blows. That I LOVE.

5) Looking good is only half the battle. Well, 1/4, really. The rest is all up to your spunky personality, intelligence… and fresh and springy scent. Enter Daisy by Marc Jacobs. Seriously, I sometimes spray it before bed just so I can smell it while I sleep. It’s that good.

This obviously floral perfume is extremely sexy and opulent. It’s wearable but so rich that, well, it even smells expensive.

If you are serious about skincare this facial brush is definitely worth the investment. It’s truly luxury meets practicality. Nothing cleans your face more gently and effectively. Perfect for all skin types, and can even combat stubborn cystic acne.

Fredderic Fekkai Advanced Overnight Hair Repair – $195 Saks Fifth Ave

This product is hair magic in a bottle. It has smart technology that actually seeks out and targets weak and damaged sections of the hair shaft and rebuilds them. You might want to make some extra batches of cookies for Santa if you’re hoping for this in your stocking.

Guerlain – Illuminating Finishing Powder – $160 Neiman Marcus

Now is there any real measurable difference between this finishing powder and the others in Guerlain’s meteorite collection that are less than half the price? Not really, other than the cute butterflies and silver reusable compact. But can you really put a price on glamour?

Okay so you will have to have a rich and generous daddy (or sugar daddy) to find this gift under your tree. But if you can convince him, you would have more makeup than you could ever want or need for some time to come. R

A beauty regimen? Who needs one? Surely not my ‘messy bunned, bare faced, sweat-pant clad’ self who rolls out of bed, grabs a cup of Joe and is out to class in less than five minutes. Which- might I add-used to be sooo not me. Believe it or not pre-college and even during the summer months in between, I -gasp!- actually enjoy the getting ready process. I like the makeup, the lotions– the whole shebang. But post welcome week all my grooming habits are thrown out the window and the ‘me’ my mother would frown upon (ie- not very conducive to meeting the future Mr. ‘me’) comes out to play-er-study.

But alas- I have compiled a list of top ten products from body lotion to mascara that are the best of the best, will make you look/feel great, and best of all only requires that you hit the snooze button one less time.

Bliss Body Butter: this lotion is great because it comes in three different scents (I like the Naked because I wear perfume) and leaves your body so smooth no one will be able to tell if you shaved your legs or not.

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: this is great because you can rub it on with your fingers- it has SPF (an essential for our young skin) and is sheer enough for day but still gives great coverage. And did I mention it comes in oil free?

Philosophy- Hope In A Jar: small enough to travel with- this is a great day/night face cream that leaves your face with a glow. (plus Oprah LOVES therefore it must be wonderful)

NARS Bronzer in Laguna or Casino: if nothing else, throw this on with some mascara in the morning before you head out the door. It evens out your skin tone but does NOT make you orange like you’re trying to emulate LiLo after a self tanning session.

DIOR Show Mascara: huge thick brush = huge awesome lashes that will make you look awake for your 9am class (although you and I both know the reality of the situation is a major hangover)

Bobbi Brown Limited Edition Night Palette comes in four different color schemes and is the best “it’s finally the weekend” eye shadow I’ve seen in a looong while. Trust me on this one, get one while you can.

Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner: comes in as many colors as Joseph’s Technicolor dream coat and stays all day. Love it.

KHIELS Lip balm- simple to throw on your lips and in your backpack or purse.

Sheisedo- Oil blotting sheets: makeup or no makeup come 4′oclock we all get that “I just walked way to fast to class shine” look on our faces. Ickyness begone with these fabulous sheets!

Shu Umera Eyelash Curler: even if you skip eyeliner and mascara- this baby makes you look more awake than you actually are.

All of these products are Available at Nordstrom (either in-store or online) and what’s great about that is if you decide you don’t like a product even after you’ve used it- they will take it back no questions asked and help you find what will work best for you.
