Dresses make figuring out what to wear in the morning so much easier; especially if you’re someone like me who is always running late! I came acoss this fabulous little number, the Belted Tiered Dress, for $42 that is the perfect blend of casual, put-together chic with its knit top, elastic waist, and tiered, feather-like skirt. The black version will definitely be more appropriate for a variety of occasions, but I can’t resist the grey and purple color combination, with perhaps some thick tights underneath.

I don’t know much about Lily Allen except that she’s from London, Perez likes to slam her and she has really cute bangs. Oh, and she uses hypnosis to lose weight? Weird.

But I don’t need to know what she does (she sings? Good to know). What I do know is that she thinks outside the box with her fashion choices and pulls together looks that we wouldn’t normally think of. Some are not so cute, but this shorts over tights/leopard print combo? Very cute. And a nice change of pace to wear out than that usual cleavage-y top or back-bearing dress.

We all ran far, far away from cut-offs after 1989 Britney’s love affair with them, but Lily Allen proves that they’re back. So, yank those badboys out of the closet and show some legs for a change. Yes, even in the winter!

So, I know this seems a bit ridiculous to be wanting a lightweight cotton jacket right now, but hear me out: the fall/spring light jacket-wearing seasons are so short that it just doesn’t make sense to wear a cotton jacket solely for those seasons. What I propose is to get the Fab Casual Jacket , $17.50, and start wearing it now. You can definitely fit a thin cashmere sweater underneath, and it adds an extra chic layer in these terribly frigid temperatures. Choose from six fabulous colors (my three favorites are above!). I don’t looove Kim Kardashian (I still don’t understand why she’s famous?), but there are a few things I do love about her.

1) Her badunkadunk. More, how she flaunts it, dresses it and embraces it.

2) Her step-brother, Brody Jenner. Mmmm.

3) Her show. I know – I can’t believe I said it either, but it’s funny. You know, in that “this is so ridiculous and it makes my family look SO normal” sorta way. Just don’t tell anyone I watch it; I’ve got a reputation to keep here.

4) This outfit. It’s simple. It’s classy. It’s flattering to all body types. And it’s easy to copy.  All while saving up some extra Benjamins for the weekend bar trip.

Without a doubt, it can certainly be a challenge to find a dress that is winter-weather worthy. Oftentimes, I just throw on a pair of thick tights under my favorite summer dresses, and off I go!

The ideal winter dress, this Madeira Knit Dress, $22.80, has a knit bodice and tweed skirt portion to it, that also has a bit of wool for some extra warmth. I’m not suggesting to ditch the tights, merely to pick-up a cute winter-specific item which will give you a style, and warmth boost.

I love Anne Hathaway. Not just because I loved the Princess Diaries. Not just because her movie Bride Wars seems like the perfect guilty pleasure. Not because her skin is so perfect you want to hate her for it/steal it. And not just because she seems so normal and goofy that you just want to be the LC to her Whitney…

My love for Anne is all about her style; the girl always looks so put together. Even when she’s traveling. Even when she’s wearing nothing extravagant. She doesn’t need it.

Our gal pal Anne always wears classic looks with a hint of trend, as opposed to letting the trends hang on her as if she were a store mannequin (cough cough: every other Hollywood starlet).

So that is why I chose this look for this week’s Celebrity Chic on the Cheap. It’s cute, it’s classic (with a fun scarf and sunglasses to punch it up) and it’s something we would actually wear.

This lightweight cardigan is far from boring, in its exuberant color palette and feminine detailing. Its dainty enough to even sport as a blouse, letting the oversized bow rest over a chunkier sweater. The Chiffon Trim Sweater is just $29 – we’d style it with some dark skinny jeans and round-toe or peep-toe pumps in a pastel hue with large stud earrings in our lobes.

So the holiday buzz has warn off, it’s time to get back to the real world, and on top of all that, it’s frickin’ freezin’ out there!
