Something seems a little fishy with this one. The latest news out of Hollywood (aka we sleuth’d it out on the always-reliable Internet) is that Kim and Kanye are officially dunzo. And the best part? Reports say he dumped her. Via text message.

Apparently Kanye invited Miss Kim to go on tour with him and Jay-Z next month, and she turned around and invited her entire camera crew to come-with, too. He got pissed, uninvited her and then dumped her. What do we think about this one? I’m not saying I couldn’t see Kanye dumping someone by text — totally can — but the whole thing just seems a little too hyped and short-lived to be true.

Do you buy that Kanye broke up with Kim? Did she really think she could get away with putting Jay-Z, Beyonce and Blue Ivy on her reality TV show? (As if, Kim.)

Now that Forbes has released their list of the top celebrity power couples (according to the millions they earned from May 2010- May 2011), we can’t hardly imagine who will take the top spot for 2012. In lieu of these couples’ major success, though, we cannot help but stop and think about those celebrity pairs who had the potential to be a power couple–if their relationships actually would’ve lasted.

I like to be numbed by celebrity gossip.  Whenever I’m having a bad day, I run to the back of the magazine stands, snatch up an US Weekly and bury my sorrows into all of the celebrity problems I can’t even fathom being involved with. And yeah, all that “celebrity cellulite!” and “stars without their makeup!” stuff is great, but it’s the relationship gossip that really wets my palette. Brett Favre sent his penis pics to who? Taylor Swift had coffee with Jake Gyllenhaal? Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato are dunzo?

After spending 8 hours a day studying and another 3 wallowing in my own relationship problems (like the fact that I don’t have one) a gossip mag is my perfect getaway.  I can sit back, file my worries away, and bask in the glory that is the perfect, blissful relationships of the stars.

But sometimes, news about celebrity love lives makes me even more depressed. Especially when it involves my two favorite High School Musical stars, Zac and Vanessa. Like really?! They were the ultimate power Disney couple.

When my favorite celebs take a trip to break-up land, it strikes me right in the heart.  I am their cheerleader, their sideline pepfest, I want them to survive. If not to procreate than at least to prove to me that love is out there and it is beautiful.  And when they don’t? Well, it hurts more than being dumped via a grammatically incorrect text. As someone who’s gone through her share of H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E break-ups, I always thought that it would be pretty much the worst thing ever to be famous and feel the world weigh in on the shattering of your heart. The whole Jen, Angelina, Brad Pitt debacle seemed like a nightmare (especially for Jen. Girl got the short end of the stick), and recently, watching Alanis Morissette break up with , and subsequently lose, Ryan Reynolds to ScarJo basically solidified my notion that ending a relationship while famous sucks.

I kinda felt the Alanis / Ryan destruction because I’ve always identified with Miss M. She’s this earthy, hippie chick — attractive but not striking — who feels emotions really strongly and is into singing vowels her own way. Aside from the vowel thing, I saw myself in Alanis. And so when she lost her hot fiance to someone younger, with bigger boobs, and probably a smaller brain — I felt her pain. Because, I mean…it’s quite possible the same thing has happened to me.
