Cannes Film Festival is underway and that means celebs are strutting their stuff on the international red carpet. Yesterday, in support of AIDS research, stars donned their swankiest ensembles at the amfAR Cinema Gala. Sequins, stilettos and a good cause? What’s not to love! We’ve got our favorite fashions of the evening rounded up here for you to peruse. Sandra Bullock is looking pretty freakin’ amazing, if we can say so ourselves.

Last night in New York City, almost every single celebrity in the history of the world attended to the 2012 Met Ball. The event was held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art where Anna Wintour & VOGUE created what could be the social event of the year for celebrities and fashion. It was a night full of glamour, beauty and amazing dresses and outfits.

I drooled over some of gowns celebs wore last night and envied them for being able to afford/buy/rent/wear these amazing designer dresses, but then I thought to myself, “Why can’t I copy them?” And I can! There are definitely ways to get these fabulous and fierce looks for less. It’s all about saving money these days while still looking like a million dollars without actually spending it!

Bright yellow is perfect for the summer season, and you can take this classy, polished look and make it casual and wearable! Just add a gorgeous gold clutch and a couple pieces of jewelry to pull the look together and you’ll look like Beyoncé’s younger sister in a heartbeat.

This Glee star looks gorgeous in this shade of green. With the perfect clutch and gold earrings, this looks could be yours for much less. Though the dress is a bit shorter than Dianna’s, it’s definitely more wearable than her floor-length gown.

Emma’s funky look can be easily be replicated with a patterned, red a-line. There definitely needs to be a poof factor involved when choosing  dress similar to Ms. Stone’s. Then just add some black pumps and a great shade of lipstick and  you’re good to go for way less!

I am so jealous of all of the women in music right now. They are all gorgeous, talented (most of them) and they all have unique looks. But no matter how unique their look, these ladies always manage to look HOT.

I’ve found each woman’s hottest look ever. Try not to get too jealous when looking through these photos (remember they get the clothes for free, and I always tell myself that they probably look horrible when they don’t have their hair and make up done by professionals).

Rather than looking like any of these pop stars, Jessica has been told she looks like Khloe Kardashian. You can follow her (Jessica, not Khloe) on Twitter at @jesszalesk. 

Hilary Swank (now there’s someone I haven’t thought about for a while) stepped out in Paris in this purple Ferragamo frock.  The outfit may or may not have caused a mini-battle among my friends. Some of my girls were digging it—but I can’t say I’m into the ensemble. For me, the fishnets aren’t really working. But again, my friends were arguing they were subtle and fun.

On that note, I might not even be sold on the dress as a whole. The top and belt have me downright giddy (LOVE) but I’m not so sure how I feel about all of the draping and tiers. Though pretty much any Italian designer has me reminiscing about my semester abroad in Italy last year, so I don’t even know if I can trust my own judgment. You say Ferragamo, I’m thinking delicious food, 1 euro bottles of wine and sexy Italian men. Hard to stay focused.

I’ll let you decide while we get back to the bickering—does she look hot, or like a hot mess?

There is just a whole lot going on in this outfit. In attendance at the Miu Miu show, Katy Perry paired a pink pleated dress with “flamed” Prada shoes and, of course, an electric blue pony tail. While I am definitely digging the purse, this outfit just isn’t working for me. There are a lot of colors, a lot of flames and the jacket just has a kind of matronly feel to it.

Perry is never one to blend in with the crowd and I commend for for that — usually I get pretty into her outfits, no matter how ridiculous they may be. I’m all for innovation, but this one just falls flat.

…But then again, who else could ever manage to pull off blue hair? Seriously, I can’t come up with anyone.

Even though Olivia Palermo hasn’t graced our TV screens in a while, the paparazzi is still following her around. I don’t know why, but she’s stylish and I covet many of her ensembles, so I’m cool. She’s like the American Kate Middleton, but way more visually interesting (and personally I think she has better hair).

Sweaters have a tendency to be kind of blobby and unflattering, so I really love this colorblocked one because it breaks it up and gives the illusion of structure. Combined with some leather leggings, this becomes a cozy but still fiesty ensemble. Burgundy booties are an unexpected color choice, but it’s neutral enough to work. The fur vest is a little over the top, but that’s exactly why I love it. It should be noted, though, that the ensemble would look equally as great with a trench or peacoat. A simple black tote is a perfect accessory, or a blue or white one would be fabulous too (basically any color that complements the sweater). This is a delightful day time look that is fun and functional.

Rihanna wore this Tom Ford dress to a New Year’s Eve party in Miami. At first glance I was all about the look. I think the sleeves are awesome, love the hemline and the fact that it’s a bit longer, and even think the sash is pretty cute (normally I don’t do the whole bow thing). Here I was, thinking the outfit was pretty rocking and awesome for New Year’s…

…And then I noticed her nipple ring. Yikes. Let’s hope it wasn’t too nipply, er nippy, that night.

For me, showing this much kind of ruined the whole ensemble, even the perfectly chic Louboutins. A little bit more modesty (read: a bra, even a nude one) could go a long way. But at the end of the day, she’s still pretty banging.

Julianne is a senior originally from the Bay Area. She loves football, sushi, and sunshine. Ultimately, she spends far too much time lusting after red-soled shoes and reading fashion blogs. 

I truly don’t understand why the paparazzi still snaps photos of Jessica Alba out and about. She hasn’t done any high-profile acting projects, she’s still married and, as far as I can tell, she seems perfectly content to raise her kids and be ridiculously gorgeous. Sweet life, but not terribly exciting. That said, I do love her style. It’s sophisticated, fun and accessible.

I don’t know about you, but Thanksgiving did a bit of a number on my body. After exercising regularly and eating moderately healthy for a couple of months, I went home and proceeded to gorge myself for approximately four days straight. The end result – a food baby. So while usually I’m all about sleek, bodycon ensembles, this week, I wanted to find a fashionable but forgiving ensemble, and luckily, the lovely Ashley Greene (the best Cullen?) delivered.

This cream colored silk shirt is loose, without being unflattering or creating an awkward silhouette.   Wide leg trousers have been making a huge comeback this year, and I love that they’re in denim form as well, for a more casual look. It’s also nice to see the pendulum swing away from making jeans as tight as humanly possible. A gray blazer adds some structure and definition to add a more chic element. A classic black leather(ish) bag never fails as an accessory, and rich purple pumps add a splash of color. This is a great laid back look that is relaxed while still being cute and stylish.

Daisy Lowe went for a goth-rock look for the Harper’s Bazaar Woman of the Year awards earlier this week. She wore a tuxedo-style dress cut short at the front, and long at the back from the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2010 runway. She paired the look with dark red lips (and a matching Lulu Guiness clutch) and YSL patent pumps.

She added lots of black eyeliner and black nails, and kept her legs bare beneath the dress.

This dress is all kinds of weird (is it even a dress?). It’s trying to be both sexy and conservative, and both feminine and masculine all at the same time. I just don’t really get it. Admittedly, I’m not wild on this whole mullet-hem thing that the celebs at loving at the moment, but this just seems to look like two different outfits.

I get that it would have looked weird with super girly hair and makeup, but the whole goth thing just isn’t working for me. I do, however, love that clutch.
