Ugh I hope this isn’t true! Rumors are flying today that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth (aka GALE) are engaged, and I for one will not stand for this! No official announcement has been made, but Miley has been sporting a huge rock on her ring finger. She tweeted a picture of her nails earlier this week with the ring on, and it doesn’t really look like an engagement ring up close. But it is a big, shiny bauble so who knows? Neither the couple or their reps have made a statement, which could be because they don’t want to take away from Liam’s Hunger Games press.

I think he’d be crazy to propose to her right now, especially since his career is about to skyrocket. I mean, it’s Miley. Other than going out and smoking salvia, I’m not sure what she’s been up to. Plus they are so young! Not that young marriages don’t work out, but young marriages in Hollywood generally end in a statistic. I’ve never been a fan, and I personally think he can do a lot better. Like me. I’m banking on the fact that she’s crazy, bought the ring for herself, and is using the rumors to get him to propose.

Did you know that there is a Wikipedia entry for “celebrity sex tapes”? Well, there is. There are actually so many celeb sex tapes that there is an entry on Wikipedia explaining what a celeb sex tape is and the strange ways that sex tapes have made people more famous. And while stars like Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian managed to use their sex tapes to extend their 15 minutes of fame, there are countless B, C and D-list celebs whose amateur videos earned nothing more than a “WTF?!” Here are 18 celebs who have not-so-secret sex tapes.

I guess putting yourself on house arrest is one way to stay out of trouble. Lindsay Lohan has decided to stay in until her probation is over on March 29th, and I’d say that’s a smart idea. It would be smarter if she had thought of that earlier, but whatever. Last week, a club manager claimed that Lilo hit him with her car when leaving, but she allegedly switched seats with her passenger to avoid charges. The manager was fine so no charges are being made right now, but they could in the future. She said that these claims are completely false, and let’s sure hope so.

As if girlfriend doesn’t have enough drama, Lindsay was leaving a bar and witnessed a pedestrian get hit by a motorcyclist. So I guess she finally realized that she shouldn’t be out at night until the coast is clear. While she’s been doing well keeping her act clean, she is definitely a target in the public eye. It’s probably best that she lay low for the next few weeks just in case something goes wrong. Lindsay won’t be going out at night, but I say just stay in all day honey.

Do a cleanse. Read a script. Do some yoga. Do everything you can to keep it together until your probation’s done. We all know dying your hair back to red isn’t going to make it all go away.

Robert Downey Jr. is a lot of things: detective, superhero, sex symbol. But a tattletale he is not. Celebrity scandals are definitely wacky, but this one is the strangest I’ve heard in a while. Apparently, there’s a mysterious internet commenter who’s been leaving extremely detailed comments about some Hollywood stars on a gossip blog. The person, Himmmm, previously stated that they were ”4 guys who were all pals and worked together DEEP inside the biz. Two were famous (rock star and movie star) and the other two were true creative geniuses.” Does that username remind anyone else of the villain from the Power Puff Girls?

Himmmm posted a series of comments chronicling a story that involved Kirk Douglas, Natalie Wood, Ryan O’Neal, and Natasha Gregson Wagner (Wood’s daughter). It had some crazy details like that Ryan O’Neal impregnated an underage Drew Barrymore and that Kirk Douglas raped Natalie Wood. Himmmm left Natasha Gregson Wagner’s phone number as a reference, claiming that she would back up the story. How does Himmmm know all of this information? Well, the commenter states that he starred in a film with Wagner and Heather Graham in the ’90s, which would be Two Girls and a Guy. That would make Himmmm Robert Downey Jr.

But don’t worry, Robert Downey Jr. is calling bull on this one. His rep said that Robert had no knowledge of this and he’s not Himmmm (that’s getting confusing, eh?). Oh and also, “Robert’s a much better writer than that.” So if this isn’t one for the books, I don’t know what is. I don’t think Robert Downey Jr. has enough time on his hands to even consider trolling the internet or that he would in the first place. It’s just another wacko looking for their fifteen minutes.

Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez, Russell Brand and Katy Perry…the latest celebrity couple that’s hoping to be added to the recently divorced is model and Project Runway host Heidi Klum and singer Seal. You know, the perfect couple that was supposed to last forever and gave us all hope for love, love’s divine. Well, not anymore, since Heidi is set to say “auf wiedersehen” to her husband after almost seven years of marriage.

According to TMZ, Heidi Klum will file divorce papers in L.A. County Superior Court as early as next week. Of course, she’ll be citing celebrities’ most common reason for divorce, “irreconcilable differences.” It’s really hard for me to even think of what these two can’t work out and will have to put their three biological kids and Heidi’s eldest girl (from a prior relationship) through an unfortunate divorce.

So Heidi went to the Golden Globes without you last Sunday, Seal. You two were just gorgeously vacationing in the snow together, according to your Twitter, Heidi!

Besides, Heidi, you fell from him hard when you met him in back in 2004. Remember when you told Oprah about seeing Seal for the first time…in bicycle shorts? ”I met him in a hotel lobby in New York City and he came in just from the gym and I was sitting there and I was, like, wow,” Klum said. ”And I pretty much saw everything. The whole package.” Think back to the good times and hold on!

Seal hinted at the divorce on his own Twitter account, sadly typing, “The End.” to his followers. It just got real, y’all.

We’re sad to see you two split. Honestly. Gonna go listen to “Kiss From A Rose” on repeat for the rest of the day now. Where’s my pint of ice cream?

Just when we’re falling madly in love with her latest video “The One That Got Away” (warning: watch only with tissues within reach), Katy Perry informed her managers that after the final leg of her California Dreams world tour, she’s entering a musical hiatus. I feel like my lover is leaving in a few days to study abroad, and he’s just telling me now.

Except that I can’t be too mad, since she’s taking a break from work to start a family with Russell Brand! The New York Post reported:

“Katy Perry is taking time off to work on her family… She informed her managers that after that, she’ll take a year off to spend time with husband Russell Brand and to start a family.”

There’s no word when her break will officially begin, since she has two gigs in Asia lined up in late January. However, it’s safe to say that  she won’t be recording any new material for while. The best we can hope for is a performance of her latest single at the Grammy’s…is that so much to ask?

Maybe. But seriously, her newest video with Diego Luna is a tearjerker. I be watching it over and over again until she’s back. This one and Last Friday Night, of course.

Lady Gaga has closed down the fifth floor of the Barneys New York Men’s Shop on Madison Avenue and, in EIGHT days, those doors will reopen to Gaga’s Workshop. She’s reported to sell “jewelry made entirely of rock candy; lipsticks in special Gaga red or pink hues; lip-shaped, hand-painted dark chocolate, and a Rubik’s Cube.” I’m guessing it’s not a normal Rubik’s Cube though—maybe it’s made out of latex or it sings “The Edge of Glory” once you’re super close to solving it. Something awesome like that, of course.

Part of the collection has already been released as part of a “12 Days of Gaga” teaser online: a light up yo-yo, a fashion magnet set, acrylic rings and a hand-decorated cookie of Gaga’s face from her “Telephone” music video. Yes, I DO need all of these things this year, and I need them stuffed in a stiletto stocking. Especially if it costs sixty-five dollars.

…okay, so the trinkets released so far are a little overpriced (a fifteen dollar cookie?!), but the fact that twenty-five percent of proceeds are being donated to Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation does supplement the shock to my wallet. The new charity was established with her mother and will focus on “youth empowerment and equality by addressing issues like self-confidence, well-being, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development and will utilize digital mobilization as one of the means to create positive change,” according to Barneys New York.

Plus, the fact that you’re shopping at Gaga’s Workshop is probably included somewhere in the prices, since it’s supposed to be a complete experience—it’s the biggest holiday project Barneys has ever had. The Workshop entrance will be an oversized Monster mouth that shoppers will all walk through. Inside, the store will be divided into eight mini-shops: Candy Shop, Toy Shop, Closet, Library, Gallery, Jewelry, Boudoir and Holiday. Each is set to be ornate, such as “a jewelry shop created out of an oversized Lady Gaga-turned-spider and a boudoir in the shape of a giant wig.” And once you buy me my stiletto stocking, all gifts will be bagged in special shopping bags and boxes that feature signature artwork from the Workshop.

I’m all for this. And I wish I were in NYC on November 21^st, when the store opens at 11:59pm. Shop to your heart’s desire until January 2nd…and if you won’t send me a stiletto stocking, at least take pictures and tweet them to me @cashleelee. Seriously. To the point that I feel I’m on a 360-degree tour. It’d be the best virtual Christmas gift ever—thanks in advance!

If you’re thinking about entering the porn industry, you probably won’t be able to read children’s books to elementary school kids afterwards. Maybe it’s because you’ll stimulate too many of their senses with all your clothes on, or because you’ll somehow send subliminal messages and slip in sexual innuendos while reciting Dr. Seuss rhymes. Sorry, but after a career like that, you’re simply…unfit for this kind of thing.

Okay, so the above is not the exact word-for-word reaction of Emerson Elementary School parents, but I don’t think I’m too far off from what they thought when they found out that former porn star Sasha Grey was invited to visit the school’s 1^st and 3^rd grade students. Sasha read them Dog Breath by Dav Pilkey on behalf of Read Across America, a year-round program by the National Education Association that aims to motivate reading among children.

Sure, Sasha was a porn star. She even won some AVN awards during her handful of years in the business. But she hasn’t made an adult film in two years and is officially retired from the industry; she had a multiple-episode role in the show Entourage and has acted in a Steven Soderbergh film, among others. She also published a book of self-portraits and short essays on her sexual philosophy, and a portion of the book launch’s proceeds were donated to the charity Housing Works. In short, she’s moved on, but it seems like those California parents can’t see anything beyond her XXX filmography.

And even though TMZ took plenty of pictures and Sasha tweeted about it later that day, the elementary school is now denying the fact that her visit ever happened. A school district representative told TMZ, “We have several celebrities who read to our students each year. The actress you have indicated [Sasha] was not present.”

Maybe my moral compass points a little differently than that of a parent, but it’s absolutely ridiculous that Sasha is being bashed for her nonprofit activity by both the parents of the children she served and the school who was initially happy to have her. It’s not as if Sasha had a huge celebrity blunder and is now collecting community service as part of a PR stunt; she’s actually participating because she believes in Read Across America’s cause. How long should one wait after filming porn to actively support literacy? Is there a statute of limitations on scandalous jobs?! Are people scared she’s going to promote sexual activity over literacy or suddenly have sex with the kids?!?

Though denied by Emerson Elementary, Sasha reiterates how proud she is of her non-profit involvement. She tweeted a statement yesterday, a portion of which is included below:

“Read Across America” is a program that was designed to promote literacy and instill a lifelong love of reading in elementary school students. Promoting education is an effort that is close to my heart. Illiteracy contributes to poverty; encouraging children to pick up a book is fundamental. I believe education is a universal right. I committed to this program with the understanding that people would have their own opinions about what I have done, who I am and what I represent. I am an actor. I am an artist. I am a daughter. I am a sister. I am a partner. I have a past that some people may not agree with, but it does not define who I am. I will not live in fear of it. To challenge non-profit education programs is an exercise in futility, counter-productive and anti-educational. I cannot thank my fans and “Read Across America” enough for supporting my decision. Your support and kind words continue to inspire me. I believe in the future of our children, and I will remain an active supporter and participant in education-focused initiatives.”

For the record, Read Across America states that “There is something powerful about a policeman, firefighter, mayor, radio personality, pastor, high school quarterback, or grandmother sharing their love for reading.” The program doesn’t discount that love if it comes from a porn star, former or otherwise. Emerson Elementary School parents: neither should you.

Rumors about the next NFL Super Bowl becoming a Monster Ball have officially been squashed: who in music can upstage Lady Gaga at the Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show? Madonna, that’s who. After two dead-end attempts in the past to headline the halftime act, Madge has been confirmed to perform five songs from her new album at February 5^th’s football game.

And one of those songs may be the track that also includes M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj.

Awesome. I’m so watching the game this year. Hopefully they find someone who knows the words to the National Anthem this time. (Just kidding, Xtina, love you forever and ever!)

It’s finally here: Halloweekend 2011. And though many choose to witty, creative or innovative with their costumes (like building a fully-functioning digital camera costume), most choose to simply…wear less. But Nicole Richie is not okay with that option.

“Girls, can we all pledge that we will not dress slutty for this Halloween?” she posted on her Facebook page earlier this week. “The jig is up!”

Hm, who exactly is the “jig” up for? Maybe Nicole thinks it’s completely unacceptable for 30-year-old mothers to parade around on Halloween in color little-to-nothings for fun. Nicole Richie used to be Paris’ sexy sidekick when out on the town and farming in the middle of nowhere, and maybe motherhood has simply moved her on to another phase of her life. One that involves wearing more fabric than others toward the end of the month of October.

But even more so, are slutty Halloween costumes putting us as women back a few steps as we allow others to openly objectify us without shame? Or, like an annual SlutWalk across campuses nationwide, are we refusing to set ourselves up as a target for sexual violence and actually exercising our right to our bodies, our sexuality and how we are seen by others? Guys get to do it ALL THE TIME and it rarely reflects negatively on their character in the ways that dressing up as a “sexy ____” does. Because hey, it’s Halloween, which means we get to have fun and pretend to be something we’re not. So even if I look like a little skanky or slutty or whatever other supposedly derogatory adjective that seems to be a connection between clothing choices and sexual female behavior, it doesn’t mean I am actually a skank or a slut, just like anyone who dresses up as Lady Gaga or a camera or Toy Story’s Woody character is not actually any of those things. So no matter what my costume is this year, I refuse to feel guilty for playing dress up, even if it doesn’t involve wearing a dress at all.
