When I heard that Carrie Bradshaw, excuse me, Sara Jessica Parker was launching a clothing line named “Bitten” with mall-based Steve & Barry’s, I clapped my hands in glee. I imagined the cutting edge outfits and fabulous accessories I still idolize whenever I plop down for SATC marathon—sort of like Forever 21 to the next level. But I won’t be switching loyalties anytime soon, Bitten pales in compassion.
The spread in this month’s Glamour looked so promising too, all the outfits looked more or less lovely, if a little uninspired—until I read the captions. The dress that caught my eye in one shot was actually by Burberry, the striking top in another was by Oscar de la Renta, the fabulous jacket by Chanel… Only the most basic and quite frankly boring pieces where actually from the new line. Everybody’s favorite waif and occasional coke user, debuted her new clothing line at Top Shop this week. Shock me, shock me, shock me with your out of character behavior Ms. Moss. Is anybody really suprised that this fashion maven would team up with Topshop, the British company that manages to bring looks from the runway to stores in only a matter of weeks, at prices us mere mortals can afford? I didn’t think so.
This lady was behind the push towards high-waisted denim trend after all and was sporting skin tight jeans when the rest of us were still lounging around in boot-cuts.
I don’t care what anybody says, I salute you Kate. I think it’s postively swell that she would team up with Topshop, when H&M dropped her as the face of their campaign after those infamous pictures of her snorting the white stuff hit the press in 2005.
Let’s face it, isn’t H&M just a b-side version of Topshop after all? I would much rather sport similar duds of Sienna Miller and Kate Moss than deck myself in the weirdly business-like, yet clubby clothes from Madonna’s line at H&M. Does anybody really need a white leotard? Does Madonna even need a white leotard? Let’s be honest with ourselves folks. I hope those Swedes are kicking themselves right now. Read More »

Yay! I just learned that my idol from Sex in the City, SJP a.k.a. Carrie Bradshaw is set to launch her own affordable clothing line, Bitten.
Sarah Jessica Parker is a fashion icon. Ever since her preciously hip and sometimes wacky outfits on the show, I have followed her every move from fragrance to hair color, and now clothing.
Unfortunately, I am not one of the lucky ones who have had the honor of previewing the collection. But insiders are saying it is being compared to the latest fashion line, The Row, created by the Olsen twins. Despite all the hype I am still waiting to see both lines for myself before I make any comparisons.
To my dismay there are practically zero details about the new SJP line which is making me sweat with anxiety (not really, but I want to know now, damnit!). I’ll be sure to keep on the updates!
