This week’s craving may be the most “wish list” inspired post I have ever written. Sure, some of the JCrew necklace tees and delicate Etsy accessories I’ve gushed over were a little on the pricey side, but purchasing them (which happened on more than one occasion) came with the sacrifice of a couple of happy hours….not my rent for the month.

So sadly, this week, I am drooling in front of my computer screen, imagining all of the swanky cocktail parties I could mingle in, while I sit in my sweats on my parents’ couch (after indulging a little too much in a home cooked Easter meal).

But hey, we all know us girls can dream. And I’m sure more than one of us will be a-dreamin’ of Jasmine Di Milo’s Strapless Knot Cocktail Dress.

It’s red-carpet dramatic, but in such an effortless way. The asymmetrical draping gives a casual naturalness to a dress that oozes sophisticated chic.

My favorite part has to be the drizzled caramel effect, with the copper-toned satin gathering for a side-knot at the ribcage and draping down the body.

Realistically speaking, I doubt many of us have anywhere to wear this little number (frat house parties and local bars really aren’t appropriate venues for a cocktail dress). Although if a wedding invitation arises I could see pairing this with a pair of strappy gold heels and some chandelier earrings for a glamorous and classy ensemble.

Then again, we wouldn’t want to take the spotlight off of the bride, and with this dress on there would be no competition.

I’m going to go scour Ebay now; you better not battle me out in bidding.

If there’s one thing we love in life, it’s partying with the girls. For free. So, we’re throwing a party. And it’s all free.

There will be fabulous cocktails, tasty snacks, and your favorite dance-able jams. Everyone will also have the chance to take home some super sweet prizes, from a brand-spanking-new HP computer to spa treatments to a tour of NBC’s 30 Rock.

All you have to do is put on your party shoes (flats, for real) and show up. Oh, and it also helps if you are in NYC, as anything else would be a long walk o’ shame home in the morning.

Personally, I think a good night of irresponsible drinking and partying is sometimes necessary. And by “sometimes,” I mean “college.” While you might regret it the next morning when you can’t roll over out of fear you will barf on that not-so-hot lad lying next to you, it’s always fun. But what if it could be more fun? I know you don’t think that’s possible, but I know for a fact that playing beer pong 7 nights in a row can get old. And those cups get mighty sticky.

Why not spice up a night of drinking with a few new toys? I’ve rounded up some of the coolest drinking toys on the market that every girl needs. You accessorize your clothes, so why not do the same with your booze?

Cocktail parties are always a good time. Everyone’s being all classy and mingling and chit-chatting with their cocktail o’ choice. Here are a few sexy-sounding drinks to serve to your hottie brigade of guests. Make sure to giggle annoyingly when they order.

Orgasm

1/2 ounce Vodka

1/2 ounce Amaretto

1/2 ounce White Creme de Cacao

1/2 ounce Triple Sec

1 ounce cream

Shake with ice and enjoy.

Tap That Ass

2 ounces Alizé (1 ounce red, 1 ounce yellow)

1 ounce Hennessy

a little cranberry juice

a little soda water

Pour the Alizé and Hennessy over ice. Top it off with the cranberry juice and soda water to taste.

Sweet Italian Bastard

2 parts Gin

2 parts Vodka

1 part Vermouth

1 part orange juice

1 tablespoon of sugar

1 splash of lemon juice

Mix the suckers up with some ice in a cocktail mixer, strain, and serve.

Purple Penis

2 ounces Vodka

1/2 ounce Raspberry Liqueur

1/2 ounce Blue Curacao

Splash cranberry juice

Sweet and sour mix

Mix everything except the mix and the juice with ice. Then add equal amounts of the mix and the juice and stir. Serve avec plaisir.

Absolut Sex

3/4 ounc Absolut Vodka (flavor of your choice; generic Vodka okay, just don’t tell!)

3/4 ounce Melon Liquer

Sprite

1 ounce cranberry juice

Shake everything except the Sprite up with ice. After you pour the drink into a glass, add Sprite on top. Enjoy sex. Everyone should

Any great drinks I’m missing?

It’s a super easy recipe, and perfect if you want to throw a swanky dinner or cocktail party for friends. You only need a few ingredients, a package of toothpicks and a plate. See? Told you it was easy…

Ingredients:

1 Cantaloupe or other sweet melon

1 Package of prosciutto

1 tablespoon of olive oil

Salt and Pepper to taste

If you’re serving this as an appetizer, cut the melon into slices. If you’re serving it as finger food at a cocktail party, cut the melon into bite-sized chunks. The prosciutto should come already sliced paper-thin. Wrap a full strip of it around the melon slices, or trim the meat down to better wrap around the bite-sized melon pieces. Stick in toothpicks to keep the meat in place, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Done and done. Now you’ve got a fancy appetizer, and loads of time left over for drink-making!

Something that may help lift your spirits? Throw a party! I know it sounds cheesy at first. But after watching a clip on The Today Show about a gorgeous girl who moved across the country for a dude only to find out it wasn’t going to work, and then had the time of her life at a breakup party thrown by her friends, I think it can be done. Yes, some people take these parties too far, aka Shanna Moakler who threw a “Divorce Party.”

Seriously though, what’s the harm in celebrating one more girl joining the single and looking to mingle club (when there are no kids or family involved)? Everything is better with a few cocktails. And what girl doesn’t love a chance to get together with girlfriends and have some real fun?
