You already know how I feel about Tarte cosmetics and if you don’t I’ll tell you: I’m obsessed. Their products are high quality and eco-friendly; what more can you ask for?

Gah! I just love it.

And you know what else I love? Going commando. (True story – I really don’t like panty lines…or doing laundry.) But after Britney and Paris started flashing their lady bits all over town I decided to give undies a try. And they failed me. I thought I was doomed to a life of not-so-stealthily picking wedgies… and then, like a gift from the heavens, I recieved a sample of Commando underwear. This stuff is ridiculous. It has zero seams, meaning it gives you the look of going commando without the fear of accidentally exposing yourself. Plus it comes in all different styles (bikini, thong, girl shorts) and designs (solids, animal print). It still adds to the laundry basket, but when you see how good your bootie looks in those girl shorts you won’t even care.

I seriously loaded up on this stuff (20 pairs to be exact) and am officially a member of the underwear-wearing community. Though you wouldn’t know by looking at me in a pair of leggings. These things are genius!

I’m not good at much – just ask my IM volleyball team – but if there is one thing I’ve mastered in my lifetime, it’s the art of drinking. It’s not like it came naturally; I’ve devoted much of my adult life to hitting the bottle. It’s been a lot of hard work, dry heaves and hairs of the dogs that bit me, but I am finally a boozing master.

And being that I am a self-proclaimed expert in the subject, I think it is imperative that I share some of my hard earned knowledge with the world. You see, drinking is a difficult task and there are many things to know in order to truly be good at it. Namely: the things that don’t mix well with alcohol.

You may feel the need to go out and try these combos for yourself, but just trust me on this one and stay far, far away from the following mixers:

1. Cereal: Lucky Charms and Baileys sounds like a delicious combo, but it is not. Especially before a long day of classes.

2. Automobiles: Obviously, everyone (well, everyone besides those morons in Hollywood) knows that driving drunk is dumb. But so is riding in the back of a cab. With a window that doesn’t work. You never know how far vomit can splash until you are in that situation.

3. Going commando: There is something about the combination of alcohol and the desire to constantly lift one’s skirt that just doesn’t quite work.

4. Serious talks: If you need to have it out with someone you know, doing it while drunk is not a good idea. Unless, of course, you like screaming/crying/punching/hugging in the middle of a busy street.

5. Cameras: Dropping it and watching the screen shatter while doing the worm in the middle of a dance floor is the least of your problems. In fact, after realizing the sh*tshow that is documented on that memory card, it may just be the solution.

6. Bunk Beds: Top or bottom, you will get injured.

7. Fine Dining: You may think a fine meal isn’t complete without a (few) bottle(s) of wine, but I’m sure the bus boy who has to wipe up your vomit from under the table would disagree.

8. Tights: They look totally hot with that mini, but aren’t so wonderful after you break the seal and have to pee every 10-12 minutes for the rest of the night.

9. Fire: No explanation needed.

10. Slides: “OMGEEE IT WOULD BE SO FUN TO SLIDE DOWN THAT RIGHT NOW…FACE FIRST,” says the girl who now is missing the skin from the right side of her face.

True story. All of them. Just heed my advice and be careful out there.

For some reason, I thought this trend was merely among the rich and famous. Boy, was I wrong. During a recent get together with friends, I found out that many girls I know opt to never wear underwear, even with clothing like jeans.

“It’s a very freeing feeling,” said one girl.

“Yeah, my doctor told me not to wear underwear because of the risk for bacteria and infections,” said another friend.

Really? My immediate thought was, what kind of sham doctor do you go to?

Maybe I am just being a prude and have become too attached to that extra layer of cloth between my private parts and the world. But really, no underwear, EVER?

Once I looked into it, my friends may not be so crazy after all. First of all, there are tons of reasons to be careful when wearing a thong because of the problems it can cause your nether-regions.

“Thong underwear comes (in direct contact) with the crease of the buttocks, and for those women who wear very tight-fitting thongs, it can promote bacterial vaginitis and urinary tract infections…Thong panties can also cause chafing and lacerations on the anal area, causing infection.”

So, for all young and fashion conscious women, this creates a Catch 22 (at least I learned something in high school English class). On one hand, you don’t want gross vagina infections that come along with thongs, but on the other side, you wouldn’t be caught dead in granny panties that show massive underwear lines.

The solution? Ditch underwear all together.

Maybe I should take a cue from my friends and go au naturel from now on…

I went commando to my high school prom.

This wasn’t an attempt for post-prom easy access. And I wasn’t trying to be sexy for my date.

It just so happened that I couldn’t find a single thong or no-show panty that didn’t expose a visible panty line in my dress. Under certain material, even seamless panties won’t do the trick.

So what’s a girl to do?

Fortunately, some European designer loathes panty lines just as much as I do and has remedied this chronic problem. I introduce to you… the C-string!

LoveHoney—the makers of the C-string—describe their product as invisible underwear. The website says “C-String has a flexible internal frame that hugs and holds it to the body both securely and comfortably. Your modesty remains safely covered at all times.” Basically, it’s a thong sans side-straps that is shaped like the letter C. Awesome.

While I’m the #1 cheerleader for anything that diminishes panty lines, a few skeptical thoughts came to mind when I saw this nouveau thong:

• Uhh… is it just me, or is that a headband? I don’t know about you… but I’m not really down with wearing a headband as a thong. I’m all for versatile clothing, but that’s pushing it.

• Could that possibly be comfortable? There is basically a cotton-covered wire in your crack. Hmm. Questionable.

• Would guys even find it sexy? Yea, I know, guys think thongs are hot. But the C-string looks kind of awkward.

That being said, the sole review of the C-string on the product website claims that it’s both sexy and “surprisingly comfortable.”

I was considering ordering it until I realized that one C-string would cost me nearly $50 (including overseas shipping and handling).

I think I’ll let the rest of the world feel the C-string out first. If I can get a few people to promise me that it didn’t fall off in the middle of the street, I’ll give it a shot. Until then, I’m going commando. Or maybe I’ll wear a headband of my own.
