So here are my 5 spring makeup l-o-v-e-s.

1) Every season Bobbi Brown comes out with amazing limited edition lines and this Blushed Pink collection takes the cake. The shimmery shadows are a must-have. Seem pricey? Well, Bobbi’s shadows last so long that its totally worth the splurge. Hell, sometimes (when I pass out before I can wash that stuff off!) it even lasts through brunch…the next day. (What? I also love sleep!)

2) I l.o.v.e. Loreal’s HiP line. And color is not just a trend in clothes this season; it’s also a trend for your cute little punim (that’s Yiddish for face). The good news is you can add a pop of color without looking like you are wearing your old school Wet and Wild shadows circa 1998. I love the Kohl liners, especially in gold, for that spring time look.

3) Oh Petunia. how I love thee. When I don’t get enough sleep, when I am a tad (or a lot) hungover, when I look as pasty as the walls in my cubicle, you take me from lifeless to actually kind of cute! This is the best cream blush out there because it’s non greasy and gives that great springy pink look.

4) Covergirl Outlast Lipstain – We’ve all seen the Drew Barrymore ads where she looks perfectly fresh faced and springy. Yeah, well thanks to the new lipstain line, you can have perfection, too! No shine, and no hair getting stuck on your lips when the wind blows. That I LOVE.

5) Looking good is only half the battle. Well, 1/4, really. The rest is all up to your spunky personality, intelligence… and fresh and springy scent. Enter Daisy by Marc Jacobs. Seriously, I sometimes spray it before bed just so I can smell it while I sleep. It’s that good.

We’ve been good this year. No, really. Stop laughing! The sporadic nights of binge drinking/copying those Stats problems/”borrowing” a few rolls of toilet paper from the university bathrooms are nothing worthy of lumps of coal, right? I mean, we went to class, we worked really hard and we got ourselves one step closer to being real adults! That must mean something.

Like, I don’t know, that our holiday wish lists might be fulfilled this year? That we won’t have to suffer through more socks from Grandma, and more educational DVDs from the aunts and uncles? That we won’t have to fight the tears as everyone else gets Mario Kart for the Wii and we are stuck with a pair of ugly light wash jeans?

We don’t want much and we laid it all out below. You know, so there are no mistakes. (Oh, and some of us are celebrating Hanukkah, which starts Sunday night, so you may want to get on the shopping ASAP. Don’t worry, though; you have 8 days to get it right.) Thanksmuchbye!

Elizabeth – UC Berkeley: A big Northface backpack that can fit all of my books. That’s actually pretty sad once I think about it.

John – UConn: A big, green terry bathrobe. The idea is to wear as much clothing as possible while still feeling, underneath, as naked as possible.

Noa – CU Boulder: New Uggs. Lame, I know, but a girl can never have too many semi-ugly but totally heavenly boots.

Carly – Grinnell: An apron or a sewing machine (apparently I am a ’50s housewife).

Kelly – UMass: A pole to practice my new pole dancing class routines. Somehow, I don’t think my mom is too keen on having a stripper pole in our house though.

Alex – Lakehead University: Taylor Swift tickets….whatever. AND GUESS WHAT, I ALREADY GOT THEM!

What’s on your wish list this year?

Then again, considering that she has taken the time to respond to Daisy’s TMZ “Bret and I hung out and didn’t talk” video, maybe I should believe her this time.

There are so many thoughts running through my mind….

First of all, I love that TMZ would even waste a camera on Daisy. Where does one find Daisy during the day?

Second, I’m pretty sure Ambre’s too old to be sharing news on Myspace. Isn’t there a site for old people (like Friendster?) And, don’t you work in entertainment? I thought you had a show. Use that as your vehicle, Geritol.

Finally, knowing what I know about, A) Bret and Ambre, and B) The history of I-Am-Going-On-TV-To-Find-My-True-Love TV show romances (The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Flavor of Love, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila) the Bret/Ambre (Brambre?) relationship will self-destruct in another 4 minutes; which, not so coincidentally, is how much longer the two of them can ride the Rock of Love fame train.

Last time

Morning: everyone is back at the house quietly eating breakfast. Destiney isn’t wearing make up and she looks fantastic without it. Big John comes in with three buckets for them to clean the house because someone they know is coming. Daisy is cleaning in a half shirt. Of course she is.

Doorbell rings and it’s parent time. Ambre’s dad is the first to arrive and they hug like she’s coming home from war. Bret got his hair blown out and flat ironed and he desperately needs a bandana. At least a real parent showed up for her this time.

Destiney’s parents come. She’s wearing a pink hat but no make up so I’ll forgive the stupid hat.

Daisy’s been on her own since she was 15 so instead of parents, Stephanie, Daisy’s ex-boyfriend’s sister, shows up for her. Are you kidding? Bret is clearly not thrilled.

They all hit the bar and Bret tries to serve up Destiney’s dad who can’t drink because he has liver cancer. He’s been given less than six months to live and Destiney’s awesome biker dad with the tattoo on his forehead makes her seem very human to me. Before this she was just a big bag of siliconed eyeliner crazy.

BBQ – Bret asks Ambre’s dad about all of his children. Ambre’s 37. Bret, don’t act like you really thought that she was really 32.

After eating, Bret shows everyone a clip from a show and Destiney got up to do a groupie dance. In front of her parents. Bret holds Ambre’s hand during her freak dance because he’s worried that Destiney won’t love Bret Michaels off stage.

Bret’s going to take everyone out separately. Daisy and her “ex” boyfriend’s sister are first.

They go to the Rainbow Bar. Daisy’s never been there, to the Viper Room or Whiskey – riiiight. Bret asks about Charles. Spill it, Stephanie. Charles cheated on Daisy and Daisy’s “life is black and white not color.” Bret and I have no idea what she’s talking about.

Stephanie says that the Charles relationship is over. “You’re seeing this like a guy.” Um, so I guess that I am, too. Stephanie has mastered English, though, so Bret’s getting some clarity on the situation – but not enough.

Next day: For the Destiney family date, Bret got a bike for Destiney’s parents to ride – that’s a really nice gesture. And he leads them to a tattoo parlor so that Destiney can get a tattoo. She wants the “Rock of Love” logo on the back of her neck but without the words. Is Bret disappointed that she won’t add the words to the tattoo? She’s putting it right where Heather did.

For Ambre’s date, they go for sushi and the age lie comes up. “Oh my god, I can’t believe I lied to Bret.” You said UM before you told him your age. Don’t cry, Liar. She has a career in which she needs to be younger so she told the girls that she’s 32. But she’s fallen in love with Bret – she says it in front of her dad which is kind of creepy to me.

So the date ends and back at the house, Bret thanks the families and the ex-boyfriend’s sister for coming out. Destiney’s mom is wearing an awful hat – I see where it comes from. I really hope that Destiney’s dad can somehow beat his cancer.

There was little drama in this episode but…no, I spoke spoke too soon. Ambre wants to air out some stuff. Are you gonna tell them that you’re 37? She says to Destiney: “I wasn’t sure if you’d completely given your heart to Bret.”

Destiney: “It’s hard for me to give myself 100% if I don’t know if it’s being returned.”

How is Destiney the voice of reason here? Ambre says that she feels like she’s in love with Bret. You ARE vulnerable and stupid. Speaking of stupid, Daisy says that she’s in love with Bret, too.

Elimination time – I have NO idea who’s going home.

Bret tells each of the girls what he loves about them and what their downsides are. He loves the way Daisy sings? And she has a walk-in garage of skeletons. At least he knows that he’s too old to pick through it.

Daisy tells Bret that Destiney’s not 100% in love with him. Destiney says, “I’m not in love with you but I have feelings for you.” But it doesn’t save her; he calls down Destiney and she’s going home for loving the experience and not loving Bret.

So the woman who was nearly eliminated on the first episode is in the finals with Daisy. Well, at least I can say I called one of the final two.

Next time: SEASON FINALE!!!! In the mean time, on Thursday night they’re gonna air lost moments. Like it’s some brilliant show a la Seinfeld and we need to see that…

Last time, Heather and the exes tore through the house and stupid Megan finally went home.

Morning: The final four + Heather and Destiney’s hat remain and they all depart for Vegas in a learjet. I forgot that they did the Vegas thing during the first cycle of this show. No shock that they are staying at the Hard Rock. Good thing that everyone’s over 21.

Daisy’s neck tattoos are super prominent today. The girls suite has a table full of presents – what, no stripper pole?

Bret-o-gram – Jessica and Destiney have to change into some golf outfits and meet Bret downstairs. What a boring date.

Heather decides that they need to 80s it up. Seriously? Oh, she’s not serious. Ha. Even she knows that the 80s are out. They look re-f*cking-diculous.

Heather, Daisy and Ambre do what they do best and get wasted. Daisy says that she’s hooked up with Bret like “500 times.” Have you had time to hook up 500 times?

Ambre’s only made out with him. Daisy and Heather talk alone – she says that she doesn’t feel like any of the other girls are competition. She asks Heather who she thinks isn’t right for Bret and Heather says, “I don’t think any of you are.”

Heather and all of her jewerly then talk to Ambre, who admits that of all the girls left,she’d be most worried about Daisy going out on a date with Bret. Daisy’s admitted to being in debt from her boob job! Ha! I love Heather’s advice of taking down Daisy ROCKS.

So evening golf – as I said, they look ridiculous. Destiney is NOT hot, but Bret loves her. No one needs to stretch before golf. Stop it, Destiney.

Jessica is good at golf and, no surprise, Destiney sucks.

Destiney gets annoyed that Jessica keeps doing well and kissing Bret, so Destiney bends over in her skirt to get Bret’s attention again. Good thinking.

So the boring golf date ends, which will be followe by a date with Ambre and Daisy. Daisy’s rude to Destiney when she returns and so Destiney decides that they were probably never friends…yeah. That mind never rests, does it, Destiney?

Ambre is nervous and she’s gonna throw Daisy and her debt carrying tits under the bus. Bret says that he chose AJ’s Steakhouse for dinner because “the girls need some meat.” Oh, shut up.

Bret wants to ask some ex-boyfriend questions because he feels like someone is lying. Bret asks Daisy about living with Charlie – he doesn’t have a job, she does. Daisy doesn’t understand how this issue is not settled. How about because t’s freaking weird and you can’t form coherent reasons for you two to still be living together?

Daisy says that she hasn’t gone out with another guy in two years. But you have one night stands, right? Oh, you dont? Bret doesn’t believe that she could go without sex for two years. And we are in agreement. Why are you crying? Bret’s not yelling at you.

“We’ve been through crazy ass sh*t.” That’s your explanation?

“Well why don’t you tell me what some of that crazy ass sh*t is.” Thank you, Bret.

Daisy says that she was pregnant, had an abortion, and he stayed with her to make sure that she was okay…so that’s heavy. I feel kinda sorry…

Ambre brings up the $ for supporting him, boobs, the apartment.

Shockingly, Daisy makes awesome money dancing. But yet – “I have tons of debt.”

Back in the room, Heather tells Jessica and Destiney that Daisy doesn’t see them as competition. Heather riles up Destiney – which doesn’t take much – are you throwing a tantrum on the pool table? Haaa!! Where did you get that pink cowboy hat? Poison’s 1989 tour? Was that C.C.’s?

Date ends and the girls are all together. Daisy tells them how she had to talk about Charles. Daisy, why is it hard for you to tell everyone about it – like this situation makes sense in any way to someone who is not you?

Did someone tell someone else to STFU?

So Ambre and Destiney are going to make Daisy cry. Don’t mess with Ambre. Jessica is wearing one of Destiney’s hats and just listening to the crazy.

Ohhhhh, Ambre goe OFF on Daisy and I love it. She’s right – oh, Daisy don’t roll your eyes at Heather. What – did she throw a drink in Daisy’s face? Wooooah. I looooove this! This is what I’ve wanted all season!!!

Big John comes in and they are going into Bret’s suite for drinks. He’s got a private black jack table and everyone is too somber to – sorry, I lost track of that thought once I saw that Destiney has rhinestones on her hat.

Daisy tells Destiney to STFU and you don’t tell that to a crazy B*tch. Here we go. I wouldn’t mess with that level of psychotic rhinestoned hat crazy.

Bret calls Big John over to deal with their bullsh*t. Don’t BS to my Big John’s face.

Stop screaming and crying, Daisy. They are weak for believing Heather? You’re life is retarded.

Oh, Bret comes out pissed. He wants to talk to Daisy alone and he’s done. The rest go back to their room.

Stop crying. Time for Daisy to spill it.

She cries on Bret and I can’t believe that he’s falling for the tears. And Daisy reenters the snake pit. But Ambre’s done so I guess it’s bed time.

Next day – Destiney looks better without all of that make up. She looks good first thing in the morning – seriously. She’s worried about pissing off Bret last night. You should be, crazy.

Heather goes into see Bret to talk about the girls. Bret’s concerned about how aggressive Destiney is, he tells Heather that it’s too hard with Heather around to get to really know them from this point. So she’s leaving. What? I don’t think so.

She’s going to get a pass tonight, you watch.

Bret calls in Jessica – his doubt about her is that she’d get hurt in Bret’s world. What? Your world is cowboy hats, beer and tits. She’s actually there for YOU. Deal with it, Bret.

Daisy meets Bret and he doesn’t feel like he knows her whole story. SPILL IT, Daisy. A couple of years ago, Daisy had befriend C.C. – he was calling her? Befriended??? In what way? No physical relationship??? You lie. She’s totally a groupie. That’s no more to her than that. Daisy, what could you have done in your life that Bret Michaels would reject you over? He’s slept with 4389071895 women. Unless you’ve been with 4389071896 guys, I think that you’re fine.

They are going to Body English for eliminations. Was the suite not good enough?

Destiney drops the stupid hat for a fake flower in her hair. Better.

Daisy don’t talk and cry; you cannot do both and blink all at the same time.

He calls Daisy – and are you seriously keeping her? She is spasming – she looks even worse. I cannot believe that he did that. The sex must be amazing.

Ambre gets the second pass. Poor thing – she likes him so much.

Is this process that emotional that everyone needs to cry?

Down to Jessica and Destiney. He fears that Jessica’s young and innocent. Destiney has a quick temper – he fears that she’ll be crazy backstage and cause him to lose fans and deal with a lawsuit.

Don’t get rid of Jessica. Don’t.

Destiney is called down – I hate you, Bret. How could you do that to Jessica or to yourself? Jessica and Ambre were the only ones left who were there for you and NOT dancing and TV and bullshit.

Wow. Amber says, “It’s down to two rocker chicks and Ambre.” More like two groupies, but close enough.

I can’t believe that I’m wrong about Heather making a permanent return. Eh, I don’t count her out.

Next time: they are back at the house and the family comes to visit. And I bet Ambre’s going home next.

…And to learn the surprising news that Daisy has probably slept with Bret. And by surprising I mean like the total opposite of surprising.

I can’t believe that she waited a whole three days.

Anyway, the house rumor that starts Episode Four is that Daisy and Bret did IT. I don’t see why everyone’s making such a big deal about it since she’s probably not going to be the only one who sleeps with Bret before this mess is all over. I laugh at my Ice Princess Kristy Joe’s camera-emphatic “Skank!” and applaud Aubry’s stretch Escalade confrontation.

This week’s challenge: the girls will be split into two teams to build a motorcycle. The lead mechanic wins a solo date, the other team members get a group date and the losing team’s head mechanic has to clean Bret’s bike with a toothbrush. Whiskey voiced Peyton is excited. Yawn. I’m not. Seriously, I’m so close to done with these annoying chicks, except for Inna, because I want to get drunk with her, and Kristy Joe, because I just like her for no good reason.

This not-so-delicious-looking guy with a deliciously hot accent will oversee the two teams but all that matters is that Inna’s leading team black, Peyton’s leading team pink and this guy has many tattoos and a nice accent.

Can someone explain to me why there are so many exposed bellies for the bike building? Stupid Megan says that she only cares about looking good in this challenge. Good strategy, stupid. But really – can’t anyone put on a shirt and just let it hang as it should? No? Sigh.

One of the girls should go after Tattooed Accent Man and his Mohawk. I love him. I’ll spare you the boring details and tell you that team black wins and Inna and Bret ride off on the newly completed motorcycle to go on their date.

Daisy, Aubry, Megan and Ambre win the group date. Because Destiney was such a dumbass in the challenge, she has to help Peyton “clean Bret’s pipes” with a toothbrush. Must she’ll wear a bikini to do it? And the double entendre is so far from clever. Stop with the pipe cleaning.

While Bret and Inna have their date and Peyton and Destiney clean, Aubry freaks out because Bret didn’t kiss her good night the night before because he’s subliminally not attracted to her. Uh, sweetheart? I’m sure that he’s pretty aware of how not attracted he is to you.

Aubry is so distraught about her attractiveness factor that she pulls Bret away from Inna and the girls who’ve just cleaned his bike to confront him and it is during their talk that Aubry utters the single funniest line ever spoken on reality TV: “I’m a karaoke host, okay? I know people.” She said that. OUT LOUD.

Bret doesn’t like Aubry’s nagging but I love it. This little talk is going to get Aubry kicked off with the “Let me go if you’re not feeling this.” Yeah, he’s not feeling this.

Aubry and KJ talk – and KJ, why are you crying again? And why are you there if you’re still married to your SECOND husband?

KJ gathers the girls together because she’s torn about staying. Uh – so why are you asking them? 1) They don’t want you there and 2) They can’t concentrate on anything for more than 72 seconds because their thoughts wander to when they’re getting their next drink.

Ambre points out that KJ’s krying is indeed krazy because she’s been in the house for five days. Krying KJ goes to Bret’s room. Ugh. Krying, kids, house, dogs, husbands…Bret’s actually willing to deal with emotional baggage. So Bret can handle pretty KJ and her immense baggage but not Aubry’s talking. Or her face.

(Side bar: Bret’s eyeliner is always perfect. One of the dates should consist of him giving tips because I can really learn a thing or six from Bret since I don’t know how to wear eyeliner properly and he’s got two decades of experience.)

Next day: group date. Bret planned a 50s pinup photo shoot. I think it’s a cool idea – I’d like to rock a Marilyn Monroe shot and I start planning my outfits when Megan’s stupid voice cuts through the reverie, “I don’t want to look like I’m in my 50s.”

You know that she was the kid who had Velcro sneakers because she didn’t learn how to tie her shoes until she was 11.

Aubry wants a Bettie Page look; Ambre does a sailor girl thing. Bret LURVES Daisy and her anti-1950s silicone gel. After the pictures, the girls stay in their outfits to eat lunch with Bret and I’m so distracted by this move. I can’t eat if I’m not fully clothed; it just feels wrongs.

During the meal, Bret smack-talks KJ saying that karma will bite her in the ass and that he knows that there are fakes in the house. Does anyone understand the concept of karma anymore? If you do, can you call Bret and tell him? I’m too busy recapping his sh!tty show and trying not to sound like the biggest bitch ever while doing it.

OF COURSE Aubry tells KJ and KJ kommences krying. She konfronts Bret but it’s not nearly as exciting as I want it to be because they smooth everything over quickly. (I’m done using the K everywhere; it’s not fun anymore).

Eliminations. Finally. This show is draaaaaaaaging. Aubry kept her weird looking 50s photo shoot hair; weird because it doesn’t look right on her. On anyone else, it would probably be cute. Anyway, she’s totally going home because she’s not as genetically gifted as KJ.

Daisy gets the first pass because the lovin must be that good.

As he gives her the pass, Bret tells Megan that he’s not feeling anything from her. Dude, that’s because the stupid blocks it.

When the hell is boring Jessica going home? She looks like a fifth rate Jessica Simpson. And she doesn’t DO anything.

Down to KJ and Aubry. KJ, stop crying already.

And then

AUBRY SACRIFICES HERSELF.

WHAT?!?

You’ve known Kristy Joe for FIVE days. Enough time to bone Bret, but to become someone’s best friend? What kind of karaoke host worth her salt is that desperate for friends?

They both cry and I don’t mean to laugh – but, yeah, never mind, this is hysterical.

KJ cries for the 80th time and after Aubry makes her dramatic exit, Bret reveals the pass.

Aubry was going home anyway. HA! HA!

And I feel vindicated somehow when KJ and Bret make out.

Next week: Mud Bowl. Someone please knock Daisy out. And someone else distract Megan with long division so that she’ll be silent through the episode.

Jacobs has decided to promote his new fragrance “Daisy” in a groundbreaking advertising stunt. A depiction of scratch and sniff daisies will be displayed on the window of Harvey Nichol’s (a British department store) in London.

Shoppers will be able to test the new fragrance without even stepping foot in the store. This is not to say that the advertisement will hurt Harvey Nichols’ sales. Surely dozens of people will be drawn to the store to experience the first ever scratch and sniff window.

Marc Jacobs describes “Daisy” as a combination of fruity scents such as grapefruit and strawberry infused with the scent of violets, gardenias, and jasmine with a dash of vanilla.

If the scent is really as Jacobs describes it, “Daisy” sounds like a fragrance to investigate. However, I can’t decide whether the scratch and sniff windows will represent the fragrance justly. Having never been to London, I do not know what the streets smell like.

However, I can assume that if a scratch and sniff window were in New York, the scent would have to be extremely strong in order to overpower the stench of garbage, exhaust, and street vendors on the nearby street. Surely, Jacobs wouldn’t want his scent to be mistaken for the smell of sugary peanuts being sold on the corner or McDonald’s pile of trash sprawled out all over the sidewalk.

If Jacobs’ window daisies can hold on to the scent of his fragrance, this ad campaign will be genius. Harvey Nichols will be flooded with curious customers and Jacobs will have creatively brought himself into the spotlight once again.

“Daisy” will be distributed to stores in the US at a slightly later date in the fall.

Sadly, shoppers will have to test the fragrance in the old, conventional way as plans for scratch and sniff window daisies have not yet been implemented in the US.
