Daylight Savings Time Is Tomorrow!

Daylight Savings Time starts tomorrow! If you’re like me, this is a huge surprise. It felt like just yesterday we were turning back the clocks. Even though we’ll be “losing” an hour and the clock will say noon am, it’ll totally feel like you only slept until 11. On the up-side, Daylight Savings Time means summer is just around the corner. Longer days, sunnier morning walks to class, that “lost” hour makes us feel so much closer to swimsuits and tanning. Daylight Savings also means that it gets darker later, which can make it feel like you have more time in the day. Isn’t that what we’re always asking for? An extra hour in the day?

Don’t forget to set your clocks an hour ahead! It’s almost summer…we’re nearly there!

24 Things I Would Have Done With That 24th Hour

Hey ladies, this is me reminding you to turn your clocks ahead one hour tonight. Because it’s daylight saving time and we’re losing an hour (Spring ahead. Fall back. That’s how I always remember it.), and if you forget to make the change that means you’ll miss MTV’s rerun of Thursday night’s episode of Jersey Shore, and you’ll just be really, super disoriented for the whole day.

But that’s not even the worst part, the worst part is that we really are losing an hour. One whole hour of our lives! Granted, we’ll get it back in the fall, but I don’t want it back in the fall. I want it now! I mean, I had plans! Big plans, I was going to… Read More »

Put Your Daylight Savings Time to Good Use

College days are jam-packed and it’s a struggle to fit in studying, drinking, smoking, sexing, protesting, exercising, birth controlling, and sleeping. That’s why Daylight Savings comes as the perfect time. Just when you think you’re all burnt out from the festivities of last weekend and midterm cramming, you get AN EXTRA HOUR.

So instead of using it for something productive (flip your underwear inside out, laundry can wait one more day), spend your extra hour on Sunday watching the best viral videos that our top notch interns could find.

And don’t forget to set those clocks back! Read More »

We Love Daylight Savings

iv_clock_westminster.JPGI don’t know if you’ve realized it yet, but last night was Daylight Savings time. Yup, you were supposed to set the clocks back an hour.

Woohooo!  An extra hour!

It may seem like such an insignificant amount of time, but think of all the things you could do with an additional 60 minutes to your Halloween weekend!

You may have taken advantage of it last night: an extra hour of drinking/dancing with the hottie dressed as Joe the Plumber, an extra hour of some much needed sleep, or an extra hour of booty (which is only good if the guy can handle it….).

Or, if like me you didn’t realize this whole time change thing until this morning when you woke up an hour earlier than you wanted to, you can take advantage of it today: an extra hour at the library for the big exam (boring), an extra hour of really bad True Lifes on MTV (so good), or an extra hour of shopping at the mall (shwing!).

If nothing else, at least that hour you spent huddled over the toilet from too much Halloween hooch won’t kill the rest of your day.

So, grab your Halloween loot, set those clocks back and enjoy that extra hour of weekend freedom before Monday morning rolls around again.

Top 5 Reasons Fall is Fantastic

060-jesseleaves.JPGAh yes. The First Day Of Fall.

That’s what today is. Officially.

Someone figured it out a long time ago, just like they figured out the strange tradition of daylight savings (which, okay, had to do with crops a long time ago, but really just annoys the hell out of everyone now). While a lot of us are probably clawing at the windows in fear of the impending winter, fall remains my favorite time of the year. You can walk for miles and not get sweaty, apples and pumpkins are all around, and those cute neck scarves we’ve all been trying to wear all summer are finally appropriate.

If you heart fall as much as I do, you’ll probably agree with these Top 5 Reasons Fall is Fantastic.

5) No. More. Sweating: Remember when it was 80 degrees and you tried to walk down the sidewalk or across campus and by the time you got to where you needed to go, your hair was sticking to the back of your neck and your face was all red and your armpits were soaking through that BTS shirt? Well, fear the heat no longer, because now that fall has arrived you can jaunt across campus in a cute scarf, hat, or light coat and get to class feeling fresh-faced and sweat-free (unless you’re late and have to book it). Your feet will no longer slide around in mushy sandals — you can break out those boots and sneakers and not feel like your feet are suffocating. I hate sweating. I really, really hate it. So the idea of walking to work in a light jacket and not having to pack extra deodorant makes me smile from ear to ear. Read More »
