Hot or Hot Mess: Jennifer Aniston at the 18th Anniversary Elle Awards in Kaufman Franco

Jennifer Aniston rocked some serious side-boob at the 18th Anniversary Elle Awards this week. She wore a plunging silver Kaufman Franco dress, shortened from the Fall 2011 catwalk, ditching her usual black ensembles. She paired it with Balenciaga sandals, a silver Ferragarno clutch and Fred Leighton earrings. She kept her usual beachy waves and simple makeup.

This dress is simply stunning. Yeah, it’s a lot of skin to be showing, but heck, if I look that good at 42 I think I’d be rocking the super-short length and plunging neckline too. However, I don’t think the actual shape of the dress is that flattering. It’s kind of loose around the middle and doesn’t flatter her entire yoga-toned bod, but I think with that cleavage and those legs, no-one is looking at her middle! Read More »

Fashionably Techy: Dear Santa, I’ve Been Good This Year.

ipod-touch1.jpg[Like a magpie, you gravitate towards things that are shiny: cell phones, TVs, anything that allows you to play Rock Band. But just because you love ‘em doesn’t mean you know much about ‘em. That’s where we come in. Every week we will be highlighting the best, coolest and shiniest in technology. Consider us your personal Geek Squad.

And let us tell ya; with CC on your side, geek has never looked so chic.]

When I was young I used to sit in my room late at night and go through the toy catalogue page by page, writing down everything I wanted in a handy, easy-to-use list for my mom. She was a busy woman; I was only trying to help her out. Well, she didn’t buy me anything that was on my ten page list and, although this list is quite a bit shorter, I don’t think she’s going to buy anything from this one either. But I can try.

Below is my Holiday Wish List. I know this season is all about the giving, but this is what I want to be getting. So, if you are in the mood to give, I am definitely in the mood to recieve any and all of these electronics.

Tunage!

I still want the Ipod Touch. It’s so much fun. Touch screens are just great on their own; they make anything ten times better and boat loads more fun. But this little machine is loaded with the awesome. Not just for music but for games and videos as well. I need at least 16 GB because I do a lot (what? I get bored!), but the 8 GB should be ample (and cheaper!) for your Average Joe. Of course, if you get even more bored than me there’s always the 32 GB option. . . Read More »

Goodbye PC, Hello MAC: University Goes Apple.

apple_computer-01.jpgC-YA! Wilkes University in Pennsylvania has ditched all the “c://nonsense” in favor of a kinder, gentler computing experience. According to a recent article in Macworld, “switching from PC to MAC will save the Pennsylvania liberal arts college more than $150,000 while letting students and faculty continue to run Windows applications.”

“Rather than take bids from the usual PC suspects – Dell and HP – as well as Apple, Wilkes decided to go all-Apple because the new Intel-based models and the Boot Camp dual-boot software – would let the school reduce the number of machines campus-wide. “This is an aggressive technology refresh,” Byers said.”

I commend ye’ Wilkes for making the move- A small, but crucial step in MAC’s quest for total world dominance. Go get em’.
