An Exclusive Excerpt from the Kardashians’ New Book

This week, an excerpt from the Kardashian sisters’ new book, Dollhouse, was released. Do you guys remember how you felt when you first read amazing writing. Well, get ready to feel that way times twenty.

The story centers on three sisters, Kamille, Kassidy and Kyle, who are a part of a high-profile family (did Ryan Seacrest come up with this idea?). Right after this excerpt was released, CollegeCandy got our hands on an even newer excerpt (because we wrote it)!

Check out this scene where the sisters argue with their mom-ager, Krystal, about who is the prettiest.

Krystal was sick of hearing her daughters argue. Obviously the middle one, Kassidy, was the prettiest because of her large butt and because her desire to film herself during sex gave this family everything they have. But she couldn’t tell her daughters that. She has to make them feel like they are all equally gorgeous and useful to the family. Read More »

These Boots Are Made for Walkin’ (and Dancing, and Partying…)

Fall and winter fashion is all about boots, and I don’t mean Uggs. Boots can update any outfit, from that cute dress for the bar to those skinny jeans you wear to class. Luckily, there are tons of different looks to choose from for every style…and every budget.

Check out my boot picks for fall below; from the low end to the highest end, I got somethin’ for everyone.

(Click on the pics for more info/to add em to your already overstocked shoe collection!):

Over-the-knee boots

This thigh-grazing style has been seen on fashionable celebs like Mischa Barton. The look is very fashion-forward and a bit hard to pull off, but when done right can look amazing. They look best with pants tucked in, not with short skirts or dresses with a short hem, which leave you lookin’ like a hooker.

If you are looking to splurge, check out the Joie boots on the left ($475), or, for the rest of us, the Newport News boot on the right is only $49. Bonus: they have a cool fold-over top so they can be worn two ways. Read More »

Can Joss Whedon Make “Dollhouse” Work?

dollhouse_l1.jpg

I had to keep reminding myself that I trust Joss Whedon to make great television shows out of unpromising-sounding premises while watching the trailer for his new show, “Dollhouse.”

“Buffy, the Vampire Slayer” is about a high school girl who slays vampires when she isn’t dating them, and “Firefly” is about cowboys in space in the future, so I think he might just be able to make “Dollhouse” work. The show is centered around a girl programmed to become different characters, from an assassin to a lover, without being conscious of the changes. Then she suddenly becomes aware, drama and conflict ensue, etc etc.

It sounds more like a movie (“Minority Report,” maybe?) than a TV show, and the show’s star, Eliza Dushku, is one of my least favorite actresses. You can watch her trying to act and it’s painful because she just can’t (watch what I mean in this clip.)

So, in order to get myself pumped up about this show, I’m repeating my new mantra: “I trust Joss Whedon, I trust Joss Whedon, I trust…” Well, you get the idea.
