I love cooking, but sometimes I find myself lacking culinary inspiration. This happens most when I’m craving something in particular, but either I don’t have the ingredients I need, or I don’t feel like making the same dishes over and over again. Luckily, I’ve found dinner-inspiration help from Gojee.
Gojee is a recipe search engine that features handpicked recipes from some of the web’s most popular food bloggers. Simply type in an ingredient or dish that you’re craving, and Gojee will return a photo slideshow of recipes to satisfy your cravings. You can also type in what ingredients you already have on hand to filter the results to show only recipes you can make right now. You can further filter the recipes by eliminating all those that contain ingredients you don’t like.
If that didn’t already sound awesome, the more you use Gojee, it learns what you like and don’t like, so you’re more likely to find recipes you love, without having to sift through things you’d never eat.
I’ve already found a ton of great recipes that I can’t wait to try! The only problem with Gojee is that the images are so delicious-looking, just browsing makes you hungry. Read More »

The temperatures have dropped, frost has fallen, the outer part of your North Face fleeces have been added…yes my friends, we are entering the dark part of winter. The cold memories we had thought of fondly during that god awful heat wave are back with vengeance. But have no fear, lovelies, I’ll help you prepare, and I promise not to make you wear long underwear.
As someone with a strong addiction to anything hot and caffeinated (*cough* Ryan Gosling sipping coffee in his château *cough*), I’m positive I have found the best combination of drinks to not only warm your hands, toes…all extremities, but also one that will make you feel cozy inside. The kind of cozy feeling that melts hearts and makes you call Mama up just to tell her you love her. Yeah, I’m that good.
Without further adieu, here are the ten BEST winter drinks (yes, I do suggest you limit yourself to one a day…hey, gotta make a good thing last, right?) Read More »

I love winter. But I especially love the drinks that winter brings. It suddenly becomes acceptable to drink hot cocoa all the time and those yummy peppermint mochas show up in Starbucks. But it’s also really easy to make your own winter drinks, including some with, ahem, an extra dose of comfort.

Spiked Pumpkin Chai Tea Latte
You’ll need…
- 4-5 chai tea bags (any brand works)
- about 1 pitcher’s worth of water (or a medium sized soup pot)
- about ¼ cup of Coffee Mate Pumpkin Spice creamer
- about 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 2 shots of Bailey’s Irish Cream
- 2 shots of rum
How to make it… Read More »

When trying to figure out what to write about for this week’s weekly ten I was a little bit stumped. So I decided to go back to the basics. And this is college after all, so it’s no surprise that drinks soon followed. But I didn’t want to go with the most common drinks or the weirdest drinks, or the ways to drink those drinks. So instead I thought I’d do something a little bit different. The drinks with the best, the sexiest, the craziest cocktail names out there.
Fair warning though, this week, instead of my usual witty commentary I’m going to take a back seat and let these drinks speak for themselves. All recipes taken from drinkmixers.com.
10. Sex on the Beach. 1 ½ oz vodka. ½ peach schnapps. 2 oz cranberry juice. 2 oz orange juice.
9. Between the Sheets. 1 oz brandy. 1/2 oz light rum. 1/2 oz triple sec. sweet and sour mix.
8. Mountain Dew Me. 2 oz midori melon liqueur. 1 oz triple sec. 4 oz pineapple juice. 1 splash7-Up soda.
7. Bend Over Shirley. 1 ½ oz raspberry vodka. 4 oz sprite soda. 3/4 oz rose’s grenadine syrup.

“Trick or Treating” may be for little kids, but try to tell any college student that the holiday is reserved for elementary schoolers and they will eat you alive.
Halloween parties are freakin’ awesome. And it’s a known fact that us college kids will be running rampant all over the country come Halloween night. What other chance do we get to play beer pong as Kanye West and Taylor Swift (stopping the game mid-toss with a “Imma let you finish…” before snatching the pong ball from each other)?
But dressing up as a slutty ____ (insert anything here….no really, anything), isn’t the only way to celebrate.
If you’re going to throw a party or be a guest at one (and that covers pretty much everyone) why not go all out and make one of these awesome Halloween cocktails? We’re all suckers for themed parties, so why not do it up big? After we graduate, its not going to be acceptable anymore (not that that means we won’t still do it).
So ditch the wine coolers and the beer keg (mmm perhaps that can stay…) and get creative for the holiday. [Click on the images to get the ghoulishly tasty recipes!] Read More »

Whether you’re working it at a beach barbecue or a hot club, a cool drink in your hand is a necessity. There are the old standby’s like Jack & Coke, cranberry & vodka, and Corona with lime (oh, so many memories…er…lack of memories) that are guaranteed to get you through the evening. But why just “get through the evening” when you can sail through on the wings of something delicious and interesting?
Say you’re at a hip lounge in some downtown area. A cute guy catches your eye and walks up to join you at the bar. He asks you what you’re drinking. Do you want to reply with something he’s heard a hundred times before (“Uh, Miller Lite?”) or something that will get the conversation (and maybe something else) started with a bang?
After much deliberation and research (and some taste-testing), we have come up with a list of the most fun cocktails for the long, hot summer ahead. Go ahead, have one of these and let your glass sweat it out along with the poor guy you’re about to attack on the dance floor. Just click on the image to get the delicious deets. Read More »

Us ladies know a few things about strawberry daiquiris: they’re pretty, they’re sugary, and they’re awesome. And even though they’re not diet-friendly, we drink them anyway, with an excuse like, “Oh, it’s a drink, it’s not real food.” And then your skinny-ass friends roll their eyes, and you get paranoid and worried about gaining five pounds.
Well, here’s some new info for the next time you need an excuse to sip a fruity, frozen cocktail. According to Dailymail.uk.com, daiquiris are not only full of yummy goodness, but they’re also full of anti-oxidants and properties that help get ride of cancer, arthritis, and heart disease-fighting molecules!
For centuries, scientists have been saying that strawberries are good for the body – they fight off liver disease, heart disease and high cholesterol among lots of other things – and with the help of a little (or a lot – depending on how strong you like your drinks) alcohol absorbed by the berry, he or she who drinks a daiquiri is less prone to disease. The same goes for the blueberry.
Here’s a great strawberry daiquiri recipe from BellaOnline: Read More »
