Eyeliner is the one makeup staple that I just won’t leave the house without. Liner-less eyes make me feel like a zombie and I inevitably get bombarded with “are you sick” or “did you not sleep well” type questions.
I’ve tried so many different liners just trying to find that perfect one. And then I realized there isn’t one. The trick is that with so many different varieties, there are perfect liners for different occasions! Certain lifestyles and situations fit better with a particular type of eyeliner. I’ve outlined the different types of liner and the pros and cons of each so you can decide which ones are right for you: Read More »

Forget your regularly scheduled Wednesday night TV. It’s Obama (half) hour!
The tabloids are all over Jennifer Hudson.
The economy for dummies.
You don’t have to break the bank on a winter coat…
Fad diets are out. Calorie counting is back, bitches.
I have a feeling Brad isn’t cheating on Angelina…
PETA really hates the Olsens….
Some people think drinking too much is unattractive.
Our newest eye shadow obsession.
These Halloween costumes make us barf.

In the spooky Halloween excitement, we’ve all fallen prey to the same trap: spending a ton of dinero on things you never use again (those white go-go boots seemed so versatile at the time!). To help you out, here three makeup items that are perfect costume accessories and beauty staples every girl should have in her makeup arsenal.
Nars Lip Pencil – Jungle Red ($20 sephora.com)
If you decided to skip the lingerie and animal ears and go for something ghoulish, this blood red pencil is perfect. You can easily draw blood droplets, gashes or scars. Try lining you eyes with it for something really creepy.
When the costume craze is over, line and fill your lips with this deep shade. Put a clear gloss over it for a glamorous look on a special night out.
Benefit BADgal Eyeliner ($20 sephora.com)
This fat eye pencil is perfect to black out some zombie eyes. It’s also a quick way to draw on mustaches or bushy eyebrows – hey you could be the Mario Brothers! Or you can easily draw on some tattoos for your Amy Winehouse costume. It also perfect for an Egyptian eye if you want to do the Cleopatra thing.
When fright night is done, simply smudge this pencil out for a quick and easy smoky eye. Or use it to create a sleek cat-eye look for something more glam. Read More »

Getting ready for a night out with your girls shouldn’t be you stomping around looking for “THAT” bra and pissed because you can’t get your eye shadow the same on your left eye as it is on your right eye. Getting ready for a night out, in my partying opinion, should be a freakin’ PRE GAME.
I’m talking loud music, drink in hand, and you dancing around to the songs below in your underwear.
This is my personal “Getting Ready” playlist and I guarantee that you’ll want to make it yours after you hear these songs.
“Earthquake” FAMILY FORCE 5 (Dance, Rock, Crunk)
“Filthy Gorgeous” SCISSOR SISTERS (Rock, Pop)
“Sexy Results” DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979 (Drum & Bass/Punk)
“Seventeen” LADYTRON (Electro/New Wave)
“After Dark” LE TIGRE (Electro/Punk)
“Rock Is Dead” MARILYN MANSON (Rock)
“F*ck The Pain Away” PEACHES (Electro/Rock)
“The New Black” EVERY TIME I DIE (Metal/Southern Rock)
“Horse Pills” THE DANDY WARHOLS (Indie/Rock)
“Love Me Or Hate Me” LADY SOVEREIGN (Hip Hop)
ENJOY! These songs rock and will definitely get you off of your ass and having FUN while you’re getting ready. Screw THAT bra. Go braless.
Don’t stress when you’re getting ready to go out! Dance it off.

I definitely would not consider myself a beauty junkie. I enjoy new products and like experimenting with makeup, I mean, what girl doesn’t? But the overwhelming amount of new stuff coming out each season seems almost impossible to really stay on top of.
Besides the fact that in college, most girls don’t have unlimited funds to spend on super expensive beauty products. We’re lucky to have a few free minutes in between classes and events to run down to the drugstore for a new tube of mascara. So, when a good deal and new brand comes along that catches my eye, I feel the need to share it with the masses who would appreciate it, aka CC readers.
ELF (Eyes, Lips, Face) makeup is my new obsession and recent splurge that I actually don’t feel too guilty about. Why? Because EVERYTHING on the website is only $1! Yes, that is right girls, just one freakin dollar for lip glosses, eye shadow pallets, all over color sticks and so much more…I bought ten items for a total of ten dollars plus some shipping, and voila, I’ve already got 10 things for the price of one product normally. Can’t beat that excitement for a boring summer day.

A beauty regimen? Who needs one? Surely not my ‘messy bunned, bare faced, sweat-pant clad’ self who rolls out of bed, grabs a cup of Joe and is out to class in less than five minutes. Which- might I add-used to be sooo not me. Believe it or not pre-college and even during the summer months in between, I -gasp!- actually enjoy the getting ready process. I like the makeup, the lotions– the whole shebang. But post welcome week all my grooming habits are thrown out the window and the ‘me’ my mother would frown upon (ie- not very conducive to meeting the future Mr. ‘me’) comes out to play-er-study.
But alas- I have compiled a list of top ten products from body lotion to mascara that are the best of the best, will make you look/feel great, and best of all only requires that you hit the snooze button one less time.
Bliss Body Butter: this lotion is great because it comes in three different scents (I like the Naked because I wear perfume) and leaves your body so smooth no one will be able to tell if you shaved your legs or not.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer: this is great because you can rub it on with your fingers- it has SPF (an essential for our young skin) and is sheer enough for day but still gives great coverage. And did I mention it comes in oil free? Read More »
