Florida's university system thinks they might have found the answer - as a number of other colleges have - in "block tuition". Block tuition is basically just a flat rate system where every student pays a set price for a year or semester, regardless of how many credit hours they take.

[It's pretty obvious that the average CollegeCandy reader has some very strong opinions. Opinions that she likes to share with everyone on the site. We love a strong woman (unless she happens to be charging at us with her fists raised), so we thought we'd give her a real forum to discuss her thoughts, feelings, and perspectives. Every Friday I'll be featuring a hot topic (like social media blackout!) and leaving it up to you, the readers, to duke it out. So, read it and get your debate on in the comments section below!]

One of the big buzz topics surrounding colleges in the last couple of years has been an administrative push to get everyone to graduate “on time” – as in, the four year model. Florida’s university system thinks they might have found the answer – as a number of other colleges have – in “block tuition”. Block tuition is basically just a flat rate system where every student pays a set price for a year or semester, regardless of how many credit hours they take. I can see some serious advantages to this program – that might be completely outweighed by the disadvantages.

On the one hand, anybody taking a heavy course load essentially gets a couple of free classes since most block tuition systems are set up around 15 credit hours. Anyone who’s already taking 18 credits, then, is getting a break on her education. Also, somebody who might want to graduate earlier could possibly get a lot of their credits packed into a year without having to pay extra – awesome! The system obviously works because it’s become a norm for private universities along with some big names like the University of Texas at Austin and UCLA.

The downside, though, is that anyone who doesn’t – or can’t – take the set number of credit hours is totally getting screwed. It’s one thing for people who just won’t get off their ass and sign up for an extra class, but it’s a different deal for someone who, say, has to have a job, or has other family commitments and just can’t fit that many hours into their schedule. Is it fair that they should have to pay extra for classes they aren’t taking? And isn’t this essentially a way to have a tuition hike without saying they’re charging more for tuition?

And what about those second semester seniors with only 8 credits left to graduate who take class two days a week and savor their final moments of college for the rest of the time? Has anyone thought about them!?

What do you think? Is block tuition a great idea? Or is flat rate just a way to rip off students? Does your school already have block tuition – what’s it like? Duke it out, ladies!

Your cell phone alarm is going off in your ear to the tune off She Bangs by Ricky Martin, inducing the hangover you worked so hard for last night (note to self: change to something MJ immediately). Your body pillow is the most obliging (and loyal) bed partner you’ve had in months, and the monsoon outside is actually starting to lull you back to sleep. So what’s going to keep you from repeatedly hitting the snooze button and subsequently infuriating your roommates and failing out of school?

The oh so delicious piece of man meat awaiting you at that 9 am roll call.

Now, there’s not going to be a prince charming lurking behind every door, but we came up with a class schedule that is sure to make the grade.

The Dude: Frat Boy
The Class: Bio 150 – Introduction To Geology, aka “Rocks for Jocks”

An introduction to the physical processes operating on the earth and the history of the earth. This course will introduce topics including the formation and physical properties of rocks and minerals, plate tectonics, geologic time, weathering and erosion, and global climate change.

Now, if you’re looking for some denser material (other than the barrel chested buffoons surrounding you, oh and the, um, rocks) this is not where you want to start your hoghunt. However, if you’re just looking for a good time (think Animal House meets Van Wilder) and a tenacious, albeit, physically destructive flip cup partner, this is where you will find your Manweiser. King of Beers anyone?

The Dude: Wallstreet
The Class: Fnce 911 – Financial Economics

The objective of this course is to undertake a rigorous study of the theoretical foundations of modern financial economics. The course will cover the central themes of modern finance including individual investment decisions under uncertainty, mean variance theory, capital market equilibrium, arbitrage pricing theory, option pricing, and the potential application of these themes.

For all of you gold-diggers who get off on a stiff one in a power suit (and by gold-diggers I mean savvy bitches, and by savvy bitches I mean f**king geniuses), strut your assets into an upper-level business class and invest in a certified money market badass. (Ya, ya, we’re in a recession… so was John Rockefeller at one point.) Just take a seat next to most dapper dude you can find, stroke his flaccid ego, and ask him if he still has the balls to pop your…collar. Yeah, I said it.

The Dude: The Cultured Connoisseur
The Class: Intl 160 – Comparative Development

An exploration of the economic, political, and social changes that constitute development. Both the historical experience of Europe and the contemporary Third World are considered.

Attention sophistikids: Thirsty Thursday rolls around, and you would rather indulge in a full-bodied red (or blonde or brunette) than sling back buttery nipple shots with marginally articulate acquaintances. Well bring your passport and permission slip to class, young lady, because there awaits your cosmopolitan travel mate. He will woo you with stories of international adventure and serenade you under the stars in three romance languages all while planning what culinary delicacy to tantalize your senses with next. Welcome to School Year Abroad – Paradise, my friend. Pack your sunglasses, ‘cause the future’s bright.

The Dude: The Not So Struggling Artist
The Class: Art 203 Figure Drawing

Figure Drawing focuses on drawing issues related to working from the nude model while emphasizing proportion, foreshortening, and planar structures of the figure. Students will work from very short poses to extended poses. Students aim to develop sensitivity to the structure, anatomy and expressive qualities of the human form.

Calling all exhibitionists, Kama Sutra goddesses, Venus de Milo look-alikes and/or any single chick with an hour of down time and healthy dose of self possession: Pose Nude And Get the Dude! Get Naked And Bring Home the Bacon! Ok, so maybe this is a little forward/overzealous, some might even say tacky (if not for art’s sake), but I dare you to think of a sexier “how we met” story. “Well your father truly had an artist’s vision, and I used to take my clothes off for beer money.”

Scratch that. What you could do, however, is take the more subtle (and sanitary) approach and join him in the observation wing. Indulge in discourse about the beauty of the female form (finally, a guy who knows that real boobs shouldn’t double as a chin rest), marvel at his attention to detail down to the very last freckle, and slowly but surely secure yourself as this Boticelli’s next muse. (For those of you with less time and a shorter attention span, partner up for that full frontal homework assignment and find out just how deeply this guy’s creative juices run.)

The Dude: The Social Martyr
The Class: Soc 150 – Economic Development and Social Change

Emphasis on understanding the interrelations among economic, political, and cultural aspects of change in developing countries. The experience of currently developing nations is contrasted to that of nations which industrialized in the 19th century. Compares the different development strategies which have been adopted by currently developing nations and their consequences for social change.

You know your classmate in middle school who used to personally escort insects outside to spare them the judgment of your sneaker? Who befriended the new kid in town when no one else would? And who brought in his family’s entire pantry stock for the canned food drive? Well if his charitable ways made you blush back then, this is where you can find him now, and this time he’s the one who will be red in the face (over the injustices of the American education system, that is). He will melt your heart with his crusade to empower the impoverished, and bring tears to your eyes with his commitment to the Clean Water Act. But make sure you come to class prepared to discuss your most impassioned causes, missy, because he will ask, and he will care. Oh, and you might want to make a list of the preferred locations for your first Peace Corps assignment, keeping in mind that these should not overlap with your spring break destinations. Remember, the dirtier, the better. Wink.

With graduation fast approaching, I am trying to cram in all the education and life lessons that I possibly can before I have to leave this place.

"Uhhh... what now?"

[OMGeeee. Graduation is coming soon. As in, my graduation. As in, in less than two months I'm going to be donning a really unflattering gown and listening to someone tell me that the world is my oyster and blah, blah, blah. As in, I'm about to be a real adult living in the real world. There is so much to do, to enjoy, to learn before I graduate, that I'm not sure I'll have time to do it all. But I'm going to try, starting with my Senior Year Bucket List, then tackling a little reading....]

With graduation fast approaching, I am trying to cram in all the education and life lessons that I possibly can before I have to leave this place. I go to class, take notes, listen, and really try to absorb the teachings from all my amazing professors, teachers, and friends.

However, there are some life lessons that simply can’t be expressed in a quarter long class or in a classroom at all. There are just not enough practical classes that will ready us for life after graduation, or answer so many of the questions we don’t have the answers to. Like, how do I manage a checkbook? How do I find the perfect apartment in an unknown city? Am I going to stay in touch with all my friends post college? How do I make a cup of coffee? What am I actually going to do? Who will I become?

Since we don’t have much “real-world” experience yet, we can benefit and learn from others’ life experiences, stories, and knowledge. There is so much to be learned from other people, and thankfully, so many of those people have written their wisdom down for us.

So for all my fellow college-seniors-who-are-freaking-out-about-graduating-and-have-no-idea-what-they’re-doing, here are five great books by five great authors that might give us all a little insight and guidance.

How to Survive the Real World: Life After College Graduation: Advice from 774 Graduates Who Did
This book is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. There is solid advice in this how-to guide by hundreds of people who offer up their insight, mistakes, successes, and stories of entering adulthood and how they survived the transition from college life to real life. This guide covers everything from practical problems, like finding the best apartment, to the psychological issues of moving on after college and discovering who you are and who you will become. Obviously real life can’t be learned from a how-to guide, but this book can help make the transition from frat parties to a 9-5 job a little easier.

Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
This list wouldn’t be complete without a little Dr. Seuss. This classic book is a perfect read before any major life transition, whether that be a new job, a new home, or entering a world different than the one you’ve known for the past four years. Dr. Seuss will assure you that you will succeed in life, even if you don’t have that dream job yet or if life gets a little rough. Plus, his rhyming is genius and will make you feel like a little kid again, which is awesome because little kids aren’t graduating yet…so maybe you’ll feel like you’re not graduating yet. My logic is seamless.

What I Wish I Knew When I Was 20
This book will push you to think differently and open your mind to possibilities previously unearthed in your own head. In this day and age, we need all the help we can get and this book is basically a road map to life. Author Tina Seelig, professor at Stanford University (whoop whoop!), gives today’s youth some serious insight through stories, anecdotes, and examples to move into the future with the best version of themselves.

Personal Finance For Dummies
I know, I know, the ‘Dummies’ book series seems kind of lame but these books are surprisingly helpful; complete with tips, advice, and straight up instructions from experts, professors, and the brightest people in their respective fields. I know for a fact that once my ‘rents cut me off post graduation, I may struggle while handling my own finances. And by “may” I mean “without a doubt.” Money, financing and all the other economy related stuff (401K? CD? WTF?) can be confusing and frustrating, especially if you don’t know what you’re doing and you majored in English rather than Econ. If you’re in the same boat, this book is a must-read and a must-highlight-so-you-retain.

(And if those ‘Dummies’ books aren’t for you, definitely pick up ‘So Many Shoes, So Little Money,’ by Lisa Erwin. It will totally speak to you and your personal financial needs post graduation.)

The Velveteen Rabbit
I literally can’t keep from crying when I read this book. (Okay so maybe my tear ducts aren’t as strong as yours, but still I dare you to not get emo when you read this.) I loved this book as a child, and I love it even more today. It explains what it means to be real, which every one of us desires to be and will probably struggle with during the most difficult transition of our lives. In beautiful language and metaphor, this classic children’s book reminds us all of what life truly means and what we all aim to seek from our experience – to be loved. Even better, there is audio versions narrated by the one and only Meryl Streep. Take a listen and grab a box of Kleenex.

Do you have any book recommendations that you consider a must-read before gradution?

Try an engineering class. Lots. of. men.

The Class: Bio 150 – Introduction To Geology, aka “Rocks for Jocks”:

Wink.

It’s easy to throw down your MasterCard and forget about how much your text books cost for the semester; it’s just as simple to open a tab at Happy Hour and let the Bud Light flow. We all eventually realize, however, that college flies by in the blink of an eye, and before you know it, you’ll be on your own.

With the economy in peril, now is an especially good time to start keeping an eye on your credit score so you don’t find yourself denied when you try to open new bank accounts, get a new apartment, condo, or house, or reward yourself for landing your dream job by buying your first brand new car. Maintaining a good credit score doesn’t have to be harder than next Tuesday’s cumulative Calc exam, though– here are five simple steps to stay on top of your financial game.

1. Get a credit card.

This might seem like a no-brainer, but I know a lot of people who are adamantly opposed to credit cards. How they live without them, I don’t know. Personally, I am always prepared to whip one out in case of an emergency (like when my gas tank is below empty and I try my luck at the commuter lot at school). Hey, if you can get by without a credit card, you win my admiration, but you can’t build credit if you never have any to begin with. Get a credit card, and charge a couple small things each month- paying your bill in its entirety will show how well you handle your money.

2. Put your name on the bills.

It’s a luxury to have parents who help you out in college. However, if the ‘rents pay your cell phone bill, sign for your campus housing, or let you drive their car around for four years of higher education, you won’t have very strong credit references when it’s time to get out on your own. Many apartment complexes want to see that you’ve been a good, rent-paying tenant in the past, for example. If you only have your parents’ credit to go by, they might have to co-sign for you as gauranteurs, which still doesn’t necessarily prove how responsible you are when it comes to managing bills and paying off debts. Even if you start small, like keeping a cell phone plan in your name, you’ll be off to a good start.

3. Pay what you can..and pay on time.

Not paying your CC bill will result in a hefty fine, as will paying your rent or other bills by the due date. If you find yourself struggling at the end of the month, prioritize your debts. Pay the car payment in its entirety, and send American Express the $20 minimum payment. Don’t squeak by with small payments every month, though – as far as credit cards go, your score is measured in a ratio of debt vs. available funds. Paying the min will result in a finance charge, which could make your balance stagnant (providing you aren’t spending more each month). So if your credit card limit is $5,000, and your balance has been a steady $4,500 for the past few months, your score will take a hit.

4. Keep old accounts open.

Remember the time you signed up for a card because you wanted a free T-shirt, and then realized you didn’t need a third credit card? Keeping that account open will actually look good on your credit report. If you don’t have to pay a fee to keep it, it won’t hurt anyway. However, if you continually max out your cards, transfer your funds to a new card, and close the first account, your spending will look sporadic and unorganized. Really, you can avoid this altogether by finding one or two really good credit card deals that you can use for years, but if you’ve paid off your debts on one card and really want the Delta Skymiles Platinum so you can earn enough rewards to fly to Hawaii this summer, there’s no reason to reach for the scissors just yet.

5. Keep an eye on your credit score.

This way, there won’t be any surprises. If you see your score start to slip, you’ll be aware and can re-anaylze your spending and try to get those numbers back into good standing. You’ll also be able to monitor your activity and prevent fraud, identity theft, or unwarranted charges. Check out FreeCreditReport.com or speak to a financial expert to figure out where you stand right now.

Getting into these simple habits won’t just help you establish a good credit report while you’re still young, but you’ll start to develop healthier spending habits to keep your credit shining as you begin your real adult life of mortgages, car payments, and starting a family. Really, these things should come naturally, but are overlooked by millions of people, young and old, across the country.

And hey, it’s quicker than checking a Facebook minifeed, so what are you waiting for? Fill out your first credit card application, check your payment due dates, and try to get an idea of where you stand in the realm of debt and credit.

College is expensive. Really, really expensive. Even with scholarships and financial aid, most of us are left wondering how we are going to pull this off.

Of course, there are several ways to approach the issue:

1. We could go to Mom and Dad (assuming they could help in the first place, or that you want them to – this is a slippery slope to giving them more influence over our futures than some of us our comfortable with)

2. We could take out a loan (but that means lots of scary paper work, co-signers, and debt)

<strike>3. We could sell our virginity</strike>

3. We try out the newest trend: human capital contracts.

In my opinion the name sounds a lot scarier than it really is. It might just be me, but the words “human” and “contract” ooze creepiness and give me visions of living as a sex slave for the rest of my life. Fortunately for me, thats not the case here.

Human capital contracts are the newest resource in paying for higher education. Basically, investors (companies) would agree to pay for your education in return for a percentage of your future income over a fixed period of time which is scaled to your wages. Unlike loans, you are essentially using your education as collateral, betting on yourself and your abilities. Meaning the more you earn, the more the investor will take. The flip side being, the less you make, the less they are entitled to.

Of course, anything dealing with finance and debt and signatures makes me hyperventilate, so naturally I had some questions. The most important ones being, “What do I stand to gain?” “Why are investors interested in my education?” And, of course, “Will I end up chained to a radiator in the basement if I don’t get a job?”

Here’s what I found:

Human capital contracts are set up as a potential win-win for investors and students. The risk is transferred from students to investors but still draws investors in because they could potentially gain more than they would on a traditional loan (which earn investors money through interest charges). This idea could potentially open the market up, as it is no secret that in today’s economy loans are limited due to rising costs and government funding is rapidly being withdrawn. But with this new alternative more kids could finish college and become productive members of society.

Unsurprisingly, with any good idea there are some drawbacks. These drawbacks mostly surround investors, but students should be aware of what they are getting into as well. The biggest issue right now seems to be getting students who are potentially interested in higher paying jobs (doctors, lawyers, future millionaires etc.), to balance out lower income jobs (starving artists, writers, non-profits, and, um, me) because these are the students who will earn investors money. Admittedly, I was wrong with my whole sex slave theory, but critics are saying that this agreement resembles a form of indentured servitude because you are in some ways owning a piece of someone else… but the same could be said about traditional loan arrangements, right?

What do you think? Would you be interested in human capital contracts to pay for school?

You might think Small Claims Court is only for trashy folks on Judge Judy, but when you’re a college student with little power, it can be easy for someone to blindside you by taking advantage of you (and your finances) when you least suspect it.

You might think Small Claims Court is only for trashy folks on Judge Judy, but when you’re a college student with little power, it can be easy for someone to blindside you by taking advantage of you (and your finances) when you least suspect it. That actually happened to me, when I was subletting from a psychopath who decided to change the locks on me one day and keep my entire rent check (it was the first week of the month when I was forced out) and my security deposit.

If I thought I was shocked when I was suddenly barred from my own home, I was even more surprised when I learned the ropes of actually going to small claims court. Why does this lesson fit into Money Matters? Because you actually have to spend quite a bit of money if you want to get what is owed to you in the long run.

In order to file your claim, you will need any articles of evidence pertaining to your case. Any contracts, agreements, or legal statements should be compiled and photocopied. Then you will have to pay a fee just to have your case processed. For me, I had to pay to get several of my documents photocopied, and then cut a check for $100 to the court just to proceed. $100 when I was already out over a grand. Still, at that point, it had become a pride issue, and I wasn’t going to let this snake take advantage of one more poor, naive girl.

Depending on the rules of your particular state, you may also have to pay for an officer to personally deliver the small claims summons to the other party. The problem with that is that the officer can only try the house so many times before all of your paperwork is returned to you, with a stamp that reads “Undeliverable.” So I had to try again. After the second set of docs was returned, I found my villain’s work address (ironically, he was a bank teller) and the po-po brought his small claims summons to the bank where he worked.

Once the opposing party has received their summons, a date will be set, and you will arrive in small claims court, where the judge will listen to both parties and set a declaration. If one party does not show up (in my case, the defense was absent), the present party will automatically win. The downside? Just because I automatically won my case, there is actually nothing that the court can do to retrieve your money.

When the verdict is passed, the court will add all fees that you have spent on the case to the opposing party’s debt to you– in my case, it was decided that I was owed my claim PLUS $100. Whatsmore, with every passing year, a certain interest rate will be tacked on as well. For me, it’s 11% interest.

The d-bag who wronged me now has a lein out on his name, which means that his credit is ruined, and, in some way that I don’t quite understand, he can’t sell anything of immense value (e.g. his car) until the debt is paid off. But I have not received compensation to this day, since I have stated that the court can’t actually force the guilty party to make a payment. For the record, as far as I know, the sketchball married some girl in order to put most of his things in her name, and the amount of money he owes me has doubled.

I think it’s ironic that in order to fight for the money that is owed you, you have to spend quite a bit AND can’t always get what is owed to you, even if you win. That’s why it’s important not to go Judge Judy just because you’re pissed at someone who owes you a few bucks. In my case, it was worth it, because I faught the bastard, and won, but it might not be the smartest bet every time.

Yay! Just what you need to get you through those long days at the library. You can’t write 3 papers back to back with no breaks, can you? These sites are perfect for the time between the papers when you have to stop or your brain is going to melt/you are going to go crazy.

We found some great ones for you this week, so check em out and enjoy. Just don’t enjoy them too much; you still have a class or two to pass before break.

That’s So Fetch: Addicting, hilarious and the best way to avoid the stacks of notes on your desk.

Driving on the Sidewalk: A pop culture blog written by a hilarious and fabulous college coed.
Where Is Wall Street: Finance is boring, but not on this site. Money and all that jazz is all broken down for you in an interesting, entertaining and relateable way. Who knew economics would be so fun?

Oh, did I mention many of us tend to splurge every extra penny on PBR’s at the campus bar?

If you disagree with everything I just said, you probably don’t need this column. But if you’re nodding along because you’re officially an adult and still don’t know how to manage your money, then you might want to pay attention every week, because I’m going to (try to) get you through this, and make you a successful saver and a wise spender.]

With the economy so crappy these days, banks are jumping over each other to get to you. With deals like Rewards Checking, it’s hard not to be lured in. I mean, a percentage of cash back just for spending? It sounds too good to be true.

Because it probably is.

I’ve been bouncing between hoarding my money in a checking account or a savings account for some time. Do I want the interest, or the rewards? Chances are, you’ve had similar decisions to make. But what about these CD things that banks advertise? What are these all about?

Personally, I always assumed that CDs were for old people. You know, people with careers and mortgage payments. Until a friend opened a CD that became her “European Vacation” fund.

A CD is basically a Savings Account… except you can’t make withdrawals whenever you feel like it. Opening a CD requires a timestamp, usually lasting six months, one year, or five years or longer. The longer you put your money “on hold,” so to speak, the greater your interest rate, which means the more moolah you’ll accumlate by NOT spending.

Yeah, right. Like college kids have enough money to just hide away for six months. While CDs generally are geared towards people who have solid careers and are infancially stable– Jumbo CDs require a minimum of a whopping $100,000 deposit– more and more variations of CDs are popping up across the country.

My friend has what is called an “Add-To” CD. Each week, when her paycheck is direct-deposited into her account, a small percentage is put into her CD. Sometimes, she even forgets that something is being deducted from her pay, because she still gets some money every pay period. However, since she can’t access her money for six months, it will continue to accumulate. When she’s ready to cash in and take her European vacation, BAM! All that money will be hers for the taking.

If you have even a little bit to spare- some birthday money, a random bonus at work, the cash you got from textbook buy-back– it might be worth looking into whether your bank offers small CDs. You can hide it away for six months, and once summer hits, you’ll have this money that you may have forgotten about! Use it on a bathing suit shopping spree or a mini-vacation…or renew your CD and wait for a rainy day in another six months or so!

If you disagree with everything I just said, you probably don’t need this column. But if you’re nodding along because you’re officially an adult and still don’t know how to manage your money, then you might want to pay attention every week, because I’m going to (try to) get you through this, and make you a successful saver and a wise spender.]

Last week, I discussed the pros and cons of both credit and debit cards. One risk I run when using my credit card is letting my spending get a little out of control. When you rack up a hefty credit card bill, you essentially lose money, because with every month that goes by that you haven’t managed to clear the balance, the more fees get tacked on to your current statement.

As college students, large bills can easily get out of control, and I know I have often felt like I was drowning in bill payments. After all, most of us can’t work full-time or even well-paying jobs, and if we have a huge exam or a paper on the horizon, we may force ourselves to cut back our hours, and likewise, our weekly income.

If you have hundreds (or even– eek! thousands) of dollars in credit card bills looming over your head, sometimes a credit card balance transfer (to a zero interest card) is just what the doctor ordered. But is it worth it, and should you do it?

To transfer your credit card balance, all you need is a new card. This can be helpful, because there are tons of cards out there that offer no interest for the first six months. Whatsmore, there are options available for credit cards that don’t even charge for a balance transfer! Sounds like Christmas came early!

When I was in trouble with my Chase credit card balance, I applied for an interest-free (to start) Capital One Rewards card. Once that card got approved, I was ready to transfer my balance. I simply entered the information from my first card (my account number and the Chase business office address), and let Capital One do the rest. It took about a week, but my entire Chase balance was transferred to my Capital One card. Think of it as using a credit card to pay for another.

Almost every credit card company offers balance transfers. Why? Because if you spend with them, they are more likely to get more of your money. And if you are so financially distraught that you need a credit card to bail you out yet again, there’s a chance that sooner or later you do end up paying interest again, but a different company is collecting.

The good news? You can usually transfer other outstanding balances, including STUDENT LOANS, to your new credit card.

The bad news? You have to be careful. Make sure there is no charge to transfer your balance, so you’re not surprised if a fee shows up on your latest statement. You also have to check your old credit card statement, because you are still expected to make your minimum payments until the balance transfer has completely cleared. That is, don’t get slapped with a hidden late charge because you don’t think you have to worry about the first card anymore.

Most importantly, don’t make balance transfer a habit! If you keep playing hopscotch and bouncing from one card to the next, you’re going to put yourself in even more debt, and possibly hurt your credit rating. Choose a time that’s good for you to transfer the balance (e.g. the beginning of a school vacation, when you know you’re going to work your ass off when you’re not in class and actually save some money for once), and vow to pay off the balance before the new card starts charging you interest.
